Good morning. This is your insurance connection. I'm your host, Donald Marquez. On your insurance connection, we talk about saving money on auto insurance, homeowners insurance, yes, and we talk about life insurance. Welcome to the show. Good morning. My name is Don Marquez. Welcome to another edition of Your Insurance Connection, broadcasting right here at KUNV 91.5 Jazz and Moore Sunday morning from eight a.m. to 830 every Sunday morning. Welcome, welcome, welcome to my show, I'm a licensed insurance agent with valuable information to share with you on how to save money on your auto insurance. We talk about homeowners from time to time, and definitely life insurance. But today we're going to kick it off. I hope everyone had a safe Fourth of July. If you do have to file a claim, do it as soon as possible. And if you know if you don't know who your homeowner's insurance is with, contact your mortgage company because your mortgage company may have changed over the years. However, your insurance stays the same. Sometimes people just don't know who they're insured with with their homeowner's insurance. And again, if you need to file a claim, do it as soon as possible, just in case there was a fire or some type of damages as a result of the fireworks. I remember when growing up, fireworks wasn't like they are today. These are bombs. These are real weapons of mass destruction they they have in the neighborhoods. I stay home on the fort. I do. I stay home because you know in my neighborhood and in my cul-de-sac, these young kids they they come out with the weapons they they go and they buy these fireworks and they're extremely powerful. Anyway, I hope everyone had a safe for it and celebrated and had a good time. I certainly did. I had company coming. My brother came from out of town, and you know we had a wonderful time. And my family came over, my children came over, and we had a wonderful time. And I hope you as well. And and you know, when you get with family, it's always a good time to talk about who has life insurance and who don't, who's the beneficiary. And sometimes you know it's a little inconvenient. People don't like to talk. I have that conversation, but I encourage you to to have the conversation with your family members. So many times in this career, 30 years in my career, right here in Las Vegas, Nevada, my hometown, by the way. You know, people have come to me after the fact and said, "You know what? I wish I'd about purchased life insurance because you know I just lost a loved one. And you know we talked about it many times. Like some, and most of the time, is women talking about their husbands. My husband and I always talk about life insurance, and we that was one of the conversations that we had. And I would encourage him to call you to get a life insurance, but he would like, well, you know, we're gonna do it one day, right now, right now, right now, we going on vacation. It's always it was always an excuse, always a postponement of getting the life insurance, and more than once, you know, it was too late. Person had either a card or underlying health condition where they could not get insured, or not again insured for the full amount they would like to, or just it's just too late, you know. Because when it comes, you know, it comes unexpected. No one, no one is going to live forever. Let's just put it out there. No one's going to live forever. But when you don't have the conversation about, you know, let's secure our family. Let's make sure that we have life insurance to take care of those final expenses, and the final expenses add up so quickly. When you know when you when you pass, you you leave debt behind. You do. You leave a lot of debt right off the top. You're gonna leave a $20,000 an up funeral, anywhere from 15 to 20. Now, if you want to be cremated, maybe 10,000 or less. That's just a roundabout figures, not not matter of fact figures. Depends.
Donald Marquez 4:27
You might want you know, you know, you might want go go ship your remains to another city, or you know, you might want the Thunderbirds flying overhead. I don't know. You know, it just it just you know you it's how you want it. It's how you want it. You may want a line of Richard to sing at your at your at your at your last days on this earth. I don't know. You never know how elaborate people can get when that when that day comes. My experience, you know, I I spent quite a bit when I had to put my. Wife to rest eight years ago. I went a little over the top because she was my queen, you know. And I could, I, I don't, I don't mind. I didn't mind spending the money. She was probably looking at me. Why are you spending all this money? But I did, you know. Together for many, many years, over 35 years of marriage, and you know, I just, you know, I had to do it right, and I did it right. And even with my mom, when when she passed in 2011, same thing. You know, I had to do it right the right way, and I and I did it the right way. You know, does does it make sense? Maybe not to everybody, but it made sense to me because these are people in my life that's been in my life for many many years, and you know, I just want to show my appreciation everything that they've done for me, and you know, just that, you know, just to put them away without any kind of remorse, put them at rest with with no remorse, and that that gave me my peace of mind, knowing that not only I put them, you know, put them to rest with peace of mind. But I also had peace of mind knowing that my finances didn't take a U-turn when I lost my spouse. My finances did not take a U-turn where you know I have to. The house that we built together, lived in, built. We built it. We bought the lot, and we had the house built on the land because they had models that said we can build this on your land. We can build that one on your land. I wanted a single story. My wife wanted a two story. So you know, what's it saying? Happy life, happy wife, happy life. You know. So okay, we got the two story. Now I have to go upstairs every day, but it's okay. That's what she wanted. That's what she received. She got the two story. I wanted the single story, cause I told her we were not going to move again. We weren't going to move again. This is it. She's like, nah, but I want this two story because I want this room, that room, downstairs. Okay, so we did it. We did it. I didn't have to again. I did not have to make a U-turn, but so many family members over the many years I've talked to as an insurance professional that they had to sell a home. You know, the cars had payments on them. It just it took a drastic U-turn in their life, and they had the money. And it's always the same story over and over and over again. Hey, we we made the money. We had we we could afford it, you know. But we didn't want to. He didn't want to talk about it, or she didn't want to talk about it. But in most cases, you know, as a 30-year insurance agent, it's always the wife telling me about the story about the husband, what he did not want to do, or he just kept postponing it to say, you know what? Okay, okay, one day, yeah, yeah, not today. And it was the same thing year after year after year, because a lot of times, you know, listening to this program, and thank you for listening. You have to understand, one day you're going to retire, and those retirement benefits may not carry with you in your retirement, that may not you know. I've talked to so many retirees. Hey, when I when I when I left my career or my job, there's a difference.
Donald Marquez 8:10
When I left my job or my career, I had no life insurance benefits, or even no health insurance benefits. That happens too. I've seen that quite often too. No, I don't sell health insurance. I used to years ago, but no one, no longer sell health insurance. But what concerns me is you have life insurance. You paid it into the life insurance policy on your job or your career for all those years, and when you walk away from that from that as you retired or you you moved on to other careers, you know those benefits stay with your employer. Those benefits don't go with you, you know. If and if they do, fine. But you're gonna find out quickly if your life insurance policy stays with you after you retire. Then the rate is gonna go up every single year, or let's say for the first maybe for the now for the first three to five years, the rate may stay the same, but then all of a sudden on that fifth year, the rate is going to change, or it could start changing immediately, or the face amount reduces down to almost nothing, especially if you're like a postal worker or your police officer, you know your your benefits drastically reduce when it comes to your life insurance. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection broadcasting right here. KUNV 91.5 Jazz and more. My contact phone number is 702236262470223626 022362624 Your auto, your home. Let's see if we can save you some money on auto insurance, so we can offset the cost of life insurance if you don't have it. Now, if you do have it on your job, that's fine. But you know, remember when you leave that job, you know that that that benefit could be gone. Now, if you're paying for that benefit. You do have other options, so regardless of what what job or career you're in, that that benefit stays with you. Like I said earlier in the conversation, when I lost my my wife eight years ago to cancer, I didn't have to take a U turn in my life. My life did not drastically change. I did not sell my house. I didn't have to sell my cars. I didn't go into panic mode. I was I was easily easily you know just I was it was easy for me because I prepared myself for that day and she prepared for that day too because as equally she has life insurance on me when she was living she had life insurance on me, so you know I continue my insurance policy, right? You know because I have children, grown children. I continue. I have adult children. I should say, so I continue that, so I can leave my legacy. So when you know when that day comes for me, you know my children can take care of my final expenses without you know worrying about going into debt, you know two one or two things gonna happen. Either either gonna leave your family in financial ruin, and I've seen it happen so many times in 30 years. I've seen it more than once, more than twice, multiple times. Or are you gonna leave them whole? You know you can always tell when you go to a funeral, you know the circumstances. You you can if they had to raise money to bury the loved one. Even saying like you know this this is sad. All these years working, all these years, and you put no money away for life insurance. You didn't take care any of your final expenses because you know again people don't want to talk about it. I don't want to talk about death. Who wants to talk about death? I get it, but you know when that day comes, and it will come, and the older we get, the more frequency we see of it. I'm, you know, I'm I'm a senior citizen, and I average about four funerals a year going to. See, I I go to four funerals a year, and my mother used to tell me, says the older you get, the more you're gonna go to him. She was going to like six a year. I'm like, what? Like every other month, one of her friends passed, and she had a stack of obituaries. I said, Mom, why you have so many obituaries?
Donald Marquez 12:12
She said, Well, all my friends are dying. Yeah, because my mother had a lot of friends, and you know I know a lot of people, but she had she she had a lot of friends. Everybody knew her, but I'm saying this for for for the knowledge of now it's time to take action. I had a young lady contact me. She said I'm in my late 60s. I heard you on the radio, and I I need to set an appointment. She wanted to come in my office. She now again I offer. I can write a life insurance, auto insurance, homeowners insurance policy over the phone, or we can meet face to face. My office location is right on the corner of Sahara Rancho, 2300 West Ranch West Sahara. Excuse me, 2300 West Sahara, in the U.S. Bank Center Eighth Floor. Now, West Sahara is one block west of the I-15. Now we have Chick Fil Airs across the street. The power station is right across the street. But my office is located in the U.S. Bank Center Eighth Floor. I work by appointment. My business hours are Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 702, 236, 2624. I work by appointment only. You know, because I've had people pop up. I work by appointment only. So sometimes, you know, people want to. It's 100. It's 100 plus. You know, we we experienced days this this week 114 degree. weather. People don't want to come out. They're like, no, no. If we can do everything over the phone, let's do it over the phone. And there are sometimes people like, no, I want to meet you. I would like to meet you. And I do not charge a consulting fee. So let's clear that. You know, no matter how much time we take, usually I give my clients at least a two-hour window to work it out. Usually, you know if you know what you want, we we go through it. We done in less than an hour or an hour. If you come in, I look. I need home, auto, and life insurance, or I need a home renters life insurance. Yeah, it's gonna that's gonna take at least an hour, hour and a half. So you want to give yourself plenty of time, because what I do, I take it very serious. I break it down line by line, you know. So you'll walk out the door knowing what your car insurance premiums are, and not only that, your your car insurance coverage limits of liability, your deductible. Most people know what their deductible is, but they don't know what your coverages are. So if I ask you what your bodily injury coverages are your property damage, your uninsured motors coverage-they're like, huh? I have full coverage, but when you leave my office, you're gonna know all those coverages because this is this is necessary to know. You want to know what you're paying for. You definitely know what you're paying for. So I represent multiple auto insurance carriers, home. Owners insurance as well. Now for life insurance, I'm licensed in Nevada, California, Texas, Louisiana, and Michigan. So if you're listening to this program at KUMV 91.5 jazz or more, and you're in California, Texas, Louisiana, Michigan, I can write you a policy over the phone. But if you're listening to this program today, and you have been listening for a while, because KUNV, you know, it's all over, all over the country, all over the world. You can listen to KUNV all over the world, but within the continental United States, I can run life insurance policy. Let's say you're in Utah, Oklahoma, and you need. Hey, I like what this guy is saying. I want to. I want to get Tom Marquez a call, and get some life insurance going. I can get licensed in that state. It only takes about a week for me to get appointed in the state and approved. And if you want to check me out, you can always contact the Division of Insurance right here on West Sahara in Las Vegas, Nevada, and you can do a background check on me. I have no complaints in 30 plus years. I'm proud to say that. I'm proud to say that. I tell you, I'm in a fiduciary position of trust, and I honor your privacy.
Donald Marquez 16:12
I do not share your business, your personal business, with any company. Only the company that we select. So you won't have a lot of phone calls from other companies calling you. Well, you know, I got your information from Don Marquez. It don't work that way with me. It don't work that way with me. Now, however, when you go online, yeah, and you put your phone number online, well, you open the door for a lot of predators to contact you and say, you know what? You know, you went online to buy some insurance, and you're gonna get calls for the next three months, regardless whatever the product is-auto insurance, homeowners, life insurance-you're gonna receive calls after calls after calls after calls, because what happens when you go online? You know these these lead sources, these algorithms, AI, good old AI, right? It says, "Hey, they're looking for life insurance, and so AI generates this algorithm for you to to you know answer all these questions, and you know, and if it hits certain you know levels of questions, if it hits, and then all of a sudden now they generated a lead. They have your name, your phone number, your address. That's all they need. And the purpose of the inquiry on the computer. I'm looking for auto insurance. Bam. Okay, that's a lead to sell to an insurance agent. And not only do they sell it to one agent, they sell it to multiple agents, and this is why you receive all these phone calls. You know, I don't, I don't use those type of lead sources because to me they're waste of time. I like to come in on the radio and get personal right here at KUMV 91.5 I don't I don't I don't buy leads because I don't want to be the the 15th person calling you that day for for for life insurance or for auto insurance or homeowners insurance, I also offer boat and motorcycle insurance. But yeah, so when you go online and you did it to yourself, this is why you receive all the calls. I don't share your information. Only the company that we select. Now, if you need to contact that company. You call them direct. Now, when you make your payments, and I set everyone up on EFT, you pay the insurance companies direct. I do not take any payments across my desk. No checks, no cash. I set you up with the insurance company with through your checking account or whatever, however you want, or your debit card, however you want to pay for your insurance. Let's say if I set you up with auto insurance and I put you with Progressive, you're gonna pay to Progressive Direct. If there's a problem with your billing, you contact Progressive with your life insurance, right? If I put set you up with Mutual of Omaha, you're gonna contact Mutual of Omaha if there's a problem with your billing, not me. I don't deal with no billing issues. You can't. I'm gonna give you. I'm gonna give you the phone number. Call them direct, and whatever you and you know you might have changed your accounts. And this is one thing, listeners. You have to understand: if you change your your bank account information, or if your debit card is changed, you need to contact all your people that that you that pull money from your debit card or your credit card to let them know your credit card has changed. There's many times in my career people use a debit card to pay for their life insurance, right? And all of a sudden now the the debit card expires. You receive a new debit card in the mail, and now the insurance company, or whether it's auto, home, are you using your debit card or life insurance, you know, and all of a sudden now the insurance company try to pull for those funds, but the funds are rejected or you know returned because you have a new debit card. The insurance. Companies, regardless of the product that's pulling the funds for, don't know you have a new debit card. You have to call them. This is why it's always good to to you know when you do get a debit card to update your information with all your your creditors or whoever's pulling from your account.
Donald Marquez 20:18
The safest bet, the safest way to do this is through your checking account. Now, normally when people open up a checking account, it stays the same. The routing, the routing number stays the same. The account number stays the same. My name is Don Marquez. I hope that hopefully that's news you can use. 7022362624702 2624 702-236-2624 If you have underlying health conditions, please don't think you cannot get life insurance. You know, I wrote a gentleman. He was stage four cancer. He's been maintaining his stage four cancer for the last several years, right? So you know, he said, "I'm stage four, but I'm you know I'm healthy. I go to work every day, really, yeah. But he's healthy. He's he's doing everything. But you know, and and I run him a significant policy. You know, I can write you up to $25,000 if you have on the. Let's say if you had a history of cancer, so I can write up to $25,000 in coverage, up to 20-$5,000 in life insurance coverage. If you are a cancer patient between the age of, I think it's between 40 and 80. Yeah, between age 40 and 80, I can get your life insurance policy guaranteed issue. Just just minimum health questions: your your name, your address, your phone number, you know, date of birth. You know, minimum, minimal questions. The policies issued through Gerber Life Insurance Company. Just to let you know, I'm licensed with a lot of different companies, and I'm licensed because I like to search for my clients the company that's going to fit them. When you go online to search for your life insurance, for an example, you know, you you really don't you you just okay this name's familiar. Prudential, let's use Prudential for an example. Oh, okay, I've seen the commercials on TV. You know, I'm I'm gonna go and apply for Prudential, and let's say you have diabetes, and for whatever reason, Prudential says, hey, no thanks, thank you for applying, but no, thank you. You know they don't say to you, you know, you know, we don't, we don't, we don't accept, we don't accept diabetics. They just deny you altogether. I'm just, I'm not saying they will Prudential, but I'm just using Prudential as an example because it's a well-known life insurance company, as an example only now, because people come to me and they say, "Well, I'm a diabetic and I need life insurance, but I've gotten turned down from multiple companies, you know, and well-known companies turn you down, but because you don't you don't fit the underwriting guidelines. See, as an insurance professional, we have to adhere to the underwriting guidelines. In other words, you know, hey, one company may take a cancer patient, right, for life insurance, and then the other one will take diabetics, and some of them won't. They have the option to do that, just because it's a you know well-known name company, and I use well-known name companies to place my clients with. Don't get me wrong, but you have to understand what product to to search for. You know, if you're looking for term insurance and you have cancer, you're not going to get it. You know, just really probably won't get that policy. So people like you know, I want to get a 30-year term or 20-year term policy, and you stage three, stage two cancer. That's not going to. That's not going to work. Just for an example, to show you how this works. But if you come to me and say, "Hey, I have stage two, stage two, stage two, stage three cancer, I'm gonna write you a whole life policy. Yeah, I'm gonna write you a whole life policy. So, as an insurance agent, we are trained by the insurance companies to get the right product for you, for your situation, for your health situation. You know you're rated by the prescribed medications you take, your height, your weight, your age, because I want to know this information so I can place you with the right company. My name is Don Marquez. I'm a licensed insurance agent offering auto insurance, homeowners insurance, boat, motorcycle insurance, and yes, life insurance. 702-236-2624 is my contact phone number. 702-236-2624 Located Sahara Rancho in the U.S. Bank Center, located on the eighth floor. I work by appointment only. My business hours are Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m.

We'll rate you as a non-smoker for the first 30-six months. Yeah, up to $450,000 no physical. Up to $450,000 no physical. 70223 620-620-four Real quick, I have a few minutes left. If you have taken a loan out on your life insurance policy, and you haven't paid any money toward the loan, because as you making your payments, that money is going toward your premium payments, not necessarily your loan request. So if you have taken out a loan, and that loan is is adding up because every year you receive a statement. Let's say if you taking out $5,000 and all of a sudden now you see that $5,000 accumulating interest. You know there could be other options for you to get rid of the loan. I've done that for clients. If you need to get your policy reinstated, you do have a limited time, and and this this is involved a person that passed, and then they let their life insurance lapse usually is within 90 days. You know you can get the you pay the back payments and get the policy reinstated. Of course, we have the quit smoking advantage program. We'll rate you as a non-smoker for the first 30-six months. Now, if you can't afford your life insurance, you contact your agent or you contact me, and maybe you can reduce the face amount down a little bit to keep the policy. Maybe you started off with $100,000 life insurance policy. Things a little tight right now. Gasoline is expensive. Grocery is expensive, and you want to cut down on your on your budget a little bit. Maybe you want to instead of canceling your life insurance. Don't let that be the first thing you cancel. Maybe you want to look at that cable TV that you have all those stations that you don't watch, so you can reduce the face amount of your life insurance policy. For more information, again, I'm here to help. I do not charge a fee to come to see me. 7022362624702236 702-236-2624 My name is Don Marquez. Stay hydrated. It is really hot right now in Vegas. It's dry. It's hot. You know, stay well hydrated. I drink. Wake up in the morning drinking water. I go to right before I go to bed. I drink water. It just you have to stay hydrated. We'll do this again next week. Everybody, stay safe. And again, if Fourth of July and you had damage to your house, and let's say your neighbor caused damage to your house because they had those fireworks, you can file a claim against their homeowner's insurance policy to get your home repaired. Again, more for more information: 702236262 022362624 You guys have a great week. We'll do this again next week. Take care.
