Good morning. This is your insurance connection. I'm your host. Donald Marquez, on your insurance connection, we talk about saving money on auto insurance, homeowners insurance, yes, and we talk about life insurance. Welcome to the show you.

Good morning. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. Broadcasting right here at K, U, N, V, 91.5 jazz and more. Happy Sunday morning y'all, oh yeah, just starting to cook outside. A little bit, just a little bit, you know, starting to warm up just slightly, but we're gonna be okay. We're gonna be okay. My name is Don Marquez. I'm a licensed insurance agent, you know, and I serve my community. And I've been serving my community now for almost 30 years, coming up 30, almost 30 years. 30 years, like in 1996 I got started in this business, and where did the time go? I mean, it's just, it's just amazing how you wake up one day and you have a flashback of your entire life, or, you know, your your, let's say 30 years of your journey, and you say, where did the time go by? Yeah, I know it went by. It went by one second at a time, yeah, just like you, just like me, you know, we all experienced this. And I tell, you know, I tell, I tell people that's on their 30s, you know? I say, okay when you hit your 40s, and then it's gonna be okay. But seem like time slows down, you know, when you, when you from 18 to 30 times slow, but when you hit 30 to 40, it starts to speed up a little bit. But I'ma tell you something, when you hit your 50s, oh my good it just goes and you wake up one day and you're 60, and it just keeps going, you know? And I bring this up because time is valuable. Time is an asset, and we should take advantage of the time that we have and make the right decisions, like the right decisions. People listening to this program like you are right now, and don't, don't turn away because I have information about insurance. I'm a licensed insurance agent right here in Nevada and 48 states in the United States, California and New York. I don't offer auto insurance. Now in California, I can't offer life insurance, but in 48 states, I can offer home auto and life insurance. California, Nevada, and if you listening to this program and you need a life insurance policy in a different state other than Nevada and California, I can make that happen to 70223, 620, 620-624-7022, 362624, I will get license in your state. How about that? And that's real simple, real easy. And if you want to check me out, if you're curious about me, my name is Don Marquez, a licensed insurance agent, and you can contact the Division of Insurance right here in the state of Nevada, and just, you know, check it out for yourself, and they'll tell you, Hey, he is flawless all these years. No problems. Let's get right down to it. I recently just went to the DMV to get my real ID. Now May 7 is, which is, you know, just a heartbeat away, it's coming up and if you don't have your REAL ID. Now you can board an airplane with a passport, to my understanding, without the REAL ID. Now, the real ID is a star on your driver's license. When I went there, I provided two utility bills showing my address, my passport, my driver's license. And of course, you know, the DMV does not take walk ins. To my understanding, they they do not take walk ins. You have to go online, set yourself an appointment. And you know, and my wait time was only less than 30 minutes. Less than 30 minutes, I had to fill out a paper, some paperwork. When I and you know you have to fill out the paperwork while you're there at the DMV. Now there's a possibility you can fill it out online, but be prepared. Have two utility bills, have your driver's license and your passport. Now listen, if you don't have matching last names, because your name is changed, and this affect women more than anyone you know, you have to show proof of your name change. You may have to bring in your birth certificate. So you know, these are things. This is news you could use, but you need to get your REAL ID to board an aircraft to fly in the United States and and, but. But if you don't have the real ID, you can use a passport. Now, I don't know what happens if you don't have the real ID or a passport. Don't know, probably get in touch with the airlines. But my name is Don Marquez, hopefully that's news you could use. And the fee was minimal. Fee was very minimal, you know, less than $20 so that was, that wasn't too bad of a cost. And why you there if you need to get your driver's license renewed, you know. So what I did, I had to get my driver's license renewed, because it was coming up six months, six months from now, I had, I would have to get, I kind of little disappointed they changed it. Because, you know, back in the day, when I turned 16 years year young. When I turned 16, everybody, back when I was growing up, when they turned 16, they went to the DMV to get their driver's license. Oh, that was a thing. They get your driver's license. Back then, the driver's license, your picture was not on your driver's license, yeah. But now, you know, they have all this information on your driver's license. But back then, you know, so when we turned 16, which is on my birthday, then it was like, right after day after my birthday, or the day, I can't remember, but they changed the date on my renewal. Because when I went to get my real Id just recently, they changed the due date. So, you know that happens, but I haven't had the same due date ever since I've been driving, but you know, I didn't want to come back to the DMV. I don't want to go back there. I don't want to delicious. You want to come back? I said, No, just well, you know, it's going to change your your due date. And I said, that's fine, you know. So anyway, what they do? They have you read. They had me read the fourth line. They asked me, Do you wear your glasses when you're driving? I said, Yes, I do. So they had me read the fourth line with the numbers on the fourth line. I can't remember the numbers, but I got all the numbers correct, and I think it's about a dozen numbers. So keep that in mind. You can get the real ID, get your driver's license renewed at our local DMV services. I hope that hopefully that's helpful for you. And if you need a handicap sticker, I think you have to get the information from your doctor. You tell your doctor you need a handicap sticker because those vines are very expensive, like $250 $250 fine if your auto insurance policy has lapsed, and that has happened because various reasons. Sometimes people stop driving. You know, I'm gonna mention this because it has happened. Sometimes people well, you know, I don't drive anymore. You know, I'm disabled. I don't drive anymore, but your car is still registered. I encourage you, if you if you in that position, or have a loved one or someone in that position, turn in your license plates. Turn in your license plates. Now the DMV doesn't know. You know you you disable and you or you retire, and you don't, you're not driving anymore. Turn in your license your license plates. Or, you know, donate your car. You know if you or sell your car. You know, whatever you need to do, but you let, you need to let the DMV know if your car is being repaired, and it's gonna take a while to get it repaired, and the car insurance is still on the car, and you own the vehicle without it, without a loan against it, you may want to turn those plates in. So for instance, oh, okay, I get a new engine of my car. It's gonna take nine months. Why would you want to pay nine months of insurance of a car just sitting there? Now that's that's up to you, or you can what you can do so you won't lose your discounts you were, you know, you can reduce it down to the minimums. Keep that in mind. If you have major, you know, repair work on your vehicle, you can take to turn in the plates, or, or, or just leave the plates on, keep the car registered, just reduce it down to the minimum state requirements, only long as you don't have a loan against the car. You know, my name is Don Marquez, license insurance agent. My contact phone number 702-236-2624, 702-236-2624, located in the heart of our beautiful city, Las Vegas, on the corner of Sahara Rancho in the US bank center, eighth floor. I work by appointment. My business hours are Monday through Friday, from 9am to 10 to 5pm or sometimes when I can come in and offers a 1010. To five really, that's, that's really, when you can get me 10 to five by appointment, 702-236-2624,

now, when you come in, of course, you know, we're gonna go over all your insurances make sure everything's, you know, sometimes policies, I look at policies, and I ask myself, why did you buy this? You know, who? How did, how did you purchase this policy and this? Well, I'm I didn't know. Some information came in the mail and and I look good to me, and I just signed it and sent it in. The good news is, you, you, you know you had enough. Courage to bring it in and don't be embarrassed. Please, don't be embarrassed. Wouldn't you rather know now that you have a policy that's going to insure you for the rest of your life? Let's talk about insurance, or life insurance. That's what we're talking about. So life insurance, let's say you bring your life insurance policy in you want to make sure your life insurance policy is going to be there for you when your family really needs that policy. Now, if you have underlying health conditions and you've been turned down by a life insurance don't give up. I can help you. I'm a licensed insurance broker multiple companies I represent and well known companies, Mutual of Omaha, Transamerica, Lincoln, heritage Life Insurance Company, you know, Gerber Life Insurance Company. Now, does it cost more for an insurance agent? No, it's the same price. It's the same price. So don't think, oh, yeah, I don't need an insurance agent because I got to pay more and more money. And I don't charge a fee to come to see me. I don't charge a broker fee when? So when you come in to see me, there's no fee. I know you ask yourself the question, huh? You know, if I go in and see him, I probably owe him some money just to have a concert consultation. No, you don't, but I work by appointment. Some of you have popped up without without an appointment, thinking I be there. Sometimes I'm there. Sometimes I'm not, because I have, you know, I have a life too, and I have appointments away from the away from my office. I do. I do. Sometimes I have appointments away from my office taking care of my own personal business. I don't make house calls. I don't do that unless there's circumstances where I need to make a house call and then have to be unique circumstances. Okay, really unique circumstances. So, you know, I'm I'm nine to five, Monday through Friday. We used to be open on Saturdays, but by contacting me by way of phone, or you could text me, we could do a lot of business on the phone on a Saturday, or even through the week, 702-236-2624, for an example, if you need a car insurance quote, you don't need to come in for a car insurance quote. We could do all that over the phone. If you need a homeowners insurance quote, we could do a homeowner insurance over the phone. Let's save, let's say take, let's save time, gas and money. Okay, so you don't have to get in your car drive, you know, a gasoline you know, as expensive gasoline is, you know, if you don't have to burn the gas down, you know, we could do everything over the phone. Now for life insurance, I really would like to meet you, but we could do also the life insurance over the phone as well. What I really would like to meet you when it comes to life insurance. I like to see my life insurance clients face to face auto insurance. Keep in mind, we can do all your auto insurance quotes over the phone, if you have a boat, motorcycle, RV, over the phone. Why? Why would you want you don't need to come in for that. But I you know, if you want to come in, you want to do a face to face, I'm okay with that too. It's the same price with or without an agent. The insurance companies have agents as representatives, as liaisons for their clients and also for the insurance company. So we have a dual representation. We interviewed fiduciary position of trust. I take no money across my desk. In other words, okay, your policy amount is X, Y, Z per month, and I need you to write me a check and give it to me? No, I don't do that. Now. Years ago, we used to have to do that. Well, I'm glad we got away from that. When I was an all state insurance agent back in the late 90s, I had to take payments. Oh, my goodness, a lot of payments every single day, people coming with cash coins. I was going to the bank every day, every day, and I and my office currently is a bank downstairs. I'm on the eighth floor in the US Bank building located on the corner of Sahara Rancho as US bank on the top. I'm on the eighth floor, and I work by appointment, but I have a bank right down, right on the first floor, and I don't go to the bank every day. I used to when I first started the business, because we used to have to accept payments. Now with technology being as wonderful as it is, it's a blessing to have technology because it it does all the work for me. I just put your account information in no debit cards, no credit cards. Now if you use a credit card, hopefully you pay your insurance in full, whether it's life insurance, auto insurance, homeowners insurance, if in fact, you use a credit card, and when you do use a credit card, you know, pay it in full, take the benefit of the discount on all your insurances other than life insurance, you can pay in full and receive a lower rate By paying your policies in full, I would say 99% of the time, regardless of what company you're with, you can pay your life insurance. I mean, excuse me, your auto insurance, your homeowners insurance, are full. Now it may not affect the home more so the life. I mean, I keep saying life, I don't know why, because life insurance is always on my mind. That's why it when you pay in full I think the benefits are more with auto than it is with the homeowners. Now, with auto insurance, they do give you options to pay it monthly, you know, semi annually or quarterly, but you want to pay that as quickly as possible, if you can put it on a credit card for the auto insurance for the full 12 months. I like to write 12 month policies. We're going to combine the home and auto together to give you the bundle. You always hear about it on television. Oh, you bundle home and auto, and that's all they talk about. Is bundling home and auto. Never tell you, you know, how much is that going to you know, it's going to save you money. But they don't let you know how much, because it's national television. They can't tell you because they don't know you. You live in Vegas. Now, in Las Vegas, we pay some of the highest car insurance in the country. Let me say that again, we pay, if not the highest, I think we were, at a few years back, we were fifth highest for paying car insurance. Ooh, that's a lot. We pay a lot for car insurance. Every city has this something. People come here from midtown America, they contact me and wondering, oh, you know, I know the rates here in Las Vegas gonna be a lot lower than the little hometown in the Midwest. No, it's not. It's gonna be a lot more here. But this is the city. This. It is what it is. I'm gonna try to find you the most competitive rate possible by going through my different companies I represent. But you know, every city has something, you know what? I take the slightly higher car insurance over hurricanes, the slightly higher car insurance over tornadoes, the slightly higher car insurance over earthquakes. I've been an earthquake, and it's not fun, and it only lasted probably about four to six seconds. Oh, my God, you think the earth is getting ready to split wide open, but, you know, again, every city has its something that's our little something. But once you settle in, you know, and if you just move into Vegas, welcome to town. If you need assistance with your auto insurance, homeowners insurance, my contact phone number 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 located on the corner Sahara Rancho in the US Bank building, eighth floor. Welcome to town. Okay, let's get right down to the life insurance. Let's go back to the life insurance. It's my favorite subject, as you all know, listening to this program, and again, I want to thank the listeners that came in and purchased home auto life insurance benefits for having a life insurance policy. We got a call the other day now,

and I ask people, can I use their you know situations? And I don't use any names, but I use these examples so you can avoid following in these footsteps. Young lady contacted me. She said, You know, she bought a policy for her father. She already had a life insurance policy in place. Now, she didn't buy it from me. Let's get that clear. But when people hear me on the radio, they just wonder, you know, let me present this scenario to you. So lady had life insurance. I didn't sell her dad's policy. She had a policy for her dad. She had been paying on it for the last 10 years. Wasn't enough life insurance. Dad a little critical. She only had $10,000 worth of life insurance. That's not enough these days, folks to have life insurance. But if that's all you can afford, that's all you can afford. Now, she saw her dad health decline, so she felt I need to give my father more life insurance. She did not buy the policy from me. She purchased it somewhere else. Now I don't know why they would even take the policy. She wrote the pod. They wrote the policy up on her dad, and unfortunately, her dad passed three months later. Now, if the policy was a final expense life insurance policy, they may pay it, but she increased the policy, not the policy, but she bought it a separate policy. You know, don't let anyone ever talk you out of canceling your policy unless it's absolutely necessary. And why would it be necessary if your policy rate is going up or you your term is over, I understand canceling the policy and getting new policy, but if you have a policy, it's a whole life policy. You've had it for a while, Bill cash value you well over the contestable period. Every situation is different. I don't like to cancel policies unless that's unless it's advantageous for you. Let me put it like that, I don't like to I like to try to save what you have, because you purchased that policy years ago and it was based on the age years ago. Your rates are based on your medicals. You have your prescribed medications, you know, whatever health category you fit in, whether you're a smoker, non smoker. Uh, all these factors and your age. I can't I can't forget the age. So all these factors fit in to get to get a life insurance policy. Now I don't want to find make it sound complicated. It's very simple, because I do all the work. You just sit there and answer yes or no to the health questions. Very simple. Do you smoke? Yes or no. Do you have diabetes? Yes or no, and if you do have diabetes, don't give up. I can get your life insurance policy. Do you have AIDS? HIV? No, most people qualify. I mean, you'd be surprised, although, you know, maybe you have a, you know, pacemaker or a stint. Don't, don't think you can't get life insurance. I'm working on a policy right now. Gentlemen, has a pacemaker, right? He has a pacemaker, and he's had it for 15 years, and we're working on getting him $150,000 worth of life insurance. See, wow. You like, probably like, Wow. You could do that. Yes, I can do that. Because what I do as an insurance professional, I seek out those companies. You know that that'll insure these individuals, because that's my job is to find the companies that will work. I represent 60 life insurance companies, but a big six and a big 060 life insurance companies, now I will find a policy for this client, and they, they'll be happy because, you know, he just bought a house and, like, I just need a little bit more insurance. Can you help me with that? No problem. No problem. I have a pacemaker. I just want to let you know. Okay, let's, let's, let's, let's see what company will accept a person with a pacemaker depending on the other medications you're taking. So just keep that in mind. Don't think you don't qualify. I don't I. You know, it's very rare when I and I talk to a client and say they don't qualify. If I talk to 100 100 clients, usually I can get 100 all all those clients insured. And I've sold a lot of life insurance policies over my many years of being a professional life insurance agent, auto insurance agent, I sell a lot of life insurance policies over the many, many years. And very rare when I get it turned out. Because what I do, I go at this surgically. I want to know the medications you're currently taking, height, weight, you know? I want to know if you're a smoker, non smoker, whether you smoke cannabis or not, or whether you vape. Listen, listeners, if you vape, you're a smoker, nice, mild tobacco, but that is tobacco, and you categorize as a smoker, okay? Because they'll, if you have to have a test, you know, they'll those, it'll come up in your bloodstream or or other body fluids. Just keep that in mind. So, oh, you know, I don't smoke, but I do vape. Or if you smoke a cigar from time to time, we may or may not rate you as a smoker, depending on the company we go to. So if we go to a company and said, okay, they underwriting guidelines say, Well, if a person smokes a cigar, let's say he only smokes a cigar twice a month, which is not what is not a lot as much as cigars, cause twice a month. It's still a lot, you know. But I know people smoke cigars regularly, you know, but they're very expensive, so I don't know why you want to smoke that. That That item is, you know, more than two or three times a month. That's expensive. Cigarettes is also expensive. But if you smoke a cigar, maybe once, twice a month, we may or may not rate rate you as a smoker. Just keep that in mind. 702-236-2624, my name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. Broadcasting, right here. KU and V, 91.5, jazz and more. I want to thank Dr Ridley, for, you know, giving me this amazing opportunity, he contacted me and said, hey, you know, we want you to talk about because I'm on other radio stations. I just wanted to let people know that here locally and here my show on a sister station. And he said, Man, I really like what you're doing. You know, Could you, could you broadcast your show, educate our listeners on KU env, I said absolutely. I mean, I was so excited, and I'm still excited. I've been over here for three years. I want to thank my engineer, Wes, he's the best keeping my time and, you know, keeping me straight and and, you know, the thing about Wes, he's so cool. Because sometimes I have to change when, what time, the times I have to come in because this show is pre recorded. It's one they want to know it's pre recorded. And sometimes I have to change my times because I have appointments. People call me and I say, Okay, I gotta go to radio station. But the pre record for my show for Sunday morning from 8am to 830 but he's always willing to work with me, and I want to thank him for his, you know, paying, you know, keeping me, keeping me posted. What's going on? Um, life insurance again, if you have significant health conditions, let me be the one to to to find a policy for you. Do not go online. Had a gentleman go online. They went online. Oh, let me get back to the story I was telling. Oh, my goodness, I gotta. Kind of the lady bought a life insurance policy for her dad. I get a little I go on and on. The late, the lady bought a life insurance policy for a dad. He passed three months after she passed, about the policy. Now they're investigating whether they're gonna pay the policy now, and it probably won't, because all life insurance companies have a two year look back. A two year look back. So just keep in mind, and that's why I started this show earlier. When I started this show earlier, I said I talked about time, it's almost 30 years in the business, and how time went by so quick, because time when you procrastinate, time catches up with you. It really does. If she had to purchase this policy A while back, instead of, you know, purchasing then three months, and her father passed, she learned a valuable lesson. You know, you can't do that because the insurance companies look at like this, okay, you gonna take out a large policy. You're only gonna pay three months. And then you think, as we you think, we're gonna pay out, they're not gonna do it, because they have a two year look back now for suicide, believe it or not, you know, two year contestable on suicide. So if you take out a term policy for 30 years and and you commit suicide third year, the policy will pay. Believe it or not, I don't encourage that. I just want people know, but if for concealment, concealment, okay? Concealment means, you know, you just found out you had cancer, and now I gotta go to the life insurance policy, and you pass six months from now, your family's gonna quickly realize that that policy is not gonna pay because you You already knew you had a pre existing condition. Now, if you currently have a pre existing condition, let's sit down and have a conversation. And don't you determine you're not qualified because you have a pre existing condition. Two years go by really quick. They do. And I started to show earlier talking about how quickly time goes by. So you know, when I started this business back in 96 now, now we were in 2025. Two years is the blink of an eye when you were talking about almost 20, you know 2029, years. So don't think, because if you, if you have an underlying health condition, let's say history of cancer, or you currently have cancer, and you stage one, stage two, let's, let's talk about getting your life insurance policy, 702-236-2624, you know what a whole life policy benefits are paid in 24 hours, with benefits up to $35,000 no health examination, just a few health questions. Most people qualify, even with health issues, rates and benefits. Oh, Dave, I love this line. Rates and benefits are locked in for the life of the policy. My name is Don Marquez, 702-236-2624 702-236-2624
