Good morning. This is your insurance connection. I'm your host, Donald Marquez. On your insurance connection, we talk about saving money on auto insurance, homeowners insurance, yes, and we talk about life insurance. Welcome to the show. Good morning. My name is Don Marquez. This another edition of Your Insurance Connection right here at KUNV 91.5 Jazz and more every Sunday morning from eight a.m. to 830. Welcome to my show. I want to thank the listeners that contact me and purchase auto insurance, homeowners, renters, and yes, life insurance. Thank you, thank you so much, listeners, for getting up early in the morning. Which Sunday is not really that early to me. I'm I'm an early riser. I like to get up at 637, you know. So 8o'clock is when I'm having my first cup of coffee. But some people like to get up earlier than that. But if you're up listening to my program every week, I do appreciate it. I've been broadcasting right here at KUNV 91.5 Jazz and More. I'm going almost four years now as a licensed insurance agent. I'm licensed in 48 states for auto insurance, homeowners, boat, motorcycle, and renters insurance, with the exception of California and New York for life insurance. I'm licensed in Nevada, my hometown, California, Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana, and Michigan for life insurance. So if you're listening to this program, again, welcome to the show. If this is your first time hearing me, keep it locked right here at KUNV 91.5 Jazz or more. I have a lot of valuable information to share with you. This time of the year, for whatever reason, people. I know the new models are coming out. The vehicles are coming out pretty soon, and people, you know, they get they get anxious to purchase a new car. So when you do purchase a new car, either brand new or pre-owned, there are some things I have to point out for you. When you purchase a car, if you're trading the car in or buying a car for the very first time, find out how much the insurance is going to cost. I can give you a quote over the phone to tell you exactly how much the vehicle is going to cost you monthly, based on your where you live, your zip code, your age, of course, your driving history. We're going to run your driving history. I'm not going to give you a quote. I'm going to tell you exactly how much it's going to cost to cover your new purchase for the auto insurance. Now, auto auto insurance in the state of Nevada is a little pricey. Everybody knows that. If you're just now coming to Vegas, don't think because you lived in the middle of Kansas City, you know, little small town that you're gonna pay less here in Nevada. I don't know why people think that. You know, they pay. You know, some people come from these little small towns in the United States, and they come to Vegas and think that their car insurance is gonna be a lot less than where they were. That's not the case. You know, every city has its something. This is our something. Car registration and car insurance is probably a lot more than you're accustomed to. Even if you're coming from California, you quickly find out our car insurance rates are probably slightly a little higher than you're accustomed to, especially here in Southern Nevada, Las Vegas area. Now, before you buy a used car, do a Carfax. Look at the damage that was on the vehicle. Look at the warranty report. If there's any, if there is a warranty on the car, if you buy it from a private owner, you can transfer the warranty if the vehicle is still under warranty. If you purchase a car from a dealership, you can transfer. You can transfer the warranty. Excuse me. Now, keep in mind, if the car does not have a as-is no dealer warranty, of course they want to sell you a warranty when you go to the finance manager, and they said, "Okay, signing all these contracts, and now they're going to present a warranty to you. It is your option at that time, they finance the warranty within the loan, and you now if you don't want that financing within your car loan, right? Or if you pay cash for it, that's an additional fee.

You can shop for a car warranty online yourself. There are some competitive rates out there, and if they tell you this is a one-time deal, a one-time offer. Well, you know, don't ever be feel like you're pressured into making a decision when you're purchasing a car. Now, I'm telling you this information because this all is wrapped together with the car insurance. Because now you have a car payment, you have a car insurance payment, and now you have a warranty payment, either wrapped in the. Or not wrapped in a deal. Just keep that in mind. If you could pay cash for that warranty and get it over with, it's going to save you money. Also, when it comes to the car insurance, the best way to pay your car insurance when you see these commercials on television, when they're talking about I save hundreds, they're not talking about you paying monthly. No, when you pay monthly on a car insurance, you know you're gonna pay more money for it. Now the savings is a worthy savings to pay in full for the six months on a car insurance policy, or for the full year. Pay in full option is the way to go. Now some companies, some car insurance companies, will set you up quarterly. You can pay every three months, or now that is a reduced rate. But however, if you pay monthly, you're going to pay the highest car insurance on that option because when you look at the different options, paying full is going to save you much more money than paying month to month. For more information, my name is Donald Marquez. I'm a licensed insurance agent right here in the state of Nevada offering auto insurance, homeowners insurance, life insurance, boat, motorcycle, and renters insurance. My contact phone number is 702-236-2624. Again, 702-236-2624. My location is on the corner of Sahara and Rancho, in the U.S. Bank Center. I'm located on the eighth floor. I work by appointment only. My business hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. Again, 702-236-2624. I know today is Sunday. You can call me on a Sunday and leave a message. I will contact you that Monday. I may even call that Sunday. You know we have football coming up right around the corner. So again, my business hours are Monday through Friday. Now on Saturdays, I will work on occasionally Saturdays via phone, via phone only. The office is closed on on a on a Saturday. On the weekends, they close their office. It used to be open, but now they they find that it's cost effective for them to be closed on the weekends. Now holidays, of course, Labor Day we have coming up pretty soon here. You know we're closed on Labor Day, but again, you can always call, leave a message, or text me a message at 702-236-2624. I offer no obligation reviews, no obligation. That means you don't pay anything to come see me, or we talk over the phone. I don't charge you a broker fee. I am a licensed insurance broker, and what the advantage is of being a broker for me, when I was a captive agent working as an Allstate Insurance agent when I first started insurance back in 1996, y'all okay? That's how far I go back. 30 years this year. Congratulations, Donald Marquez. I'm gonna congratulate myself. I get up every day just thinking about how I can, you know, be a better insurance agent, learn all the knowledge that I can. But back in '96, I was hired to to be a captive agent with Allstate Insurance Company. I stayed there for almost eight years. I sold my agency and went to AAA Insurance Company, and I stayed there long enough to retire. I retired in 2015 from AAA Insurance Company, but with Allstate and AAA, I was only locked into their products and services. When I was an Allstate agent, I can only sell Allstate's products and services. When I when I went to AAA, I could only sell AAA's products and services. I was sending a lot of business to brokers. I was sending, you know what? I can't write this car insurance policy. I can't write this life insurance policies. They they have diabetes. The company won't accept them, or they have a height weight restriction. I can't offer a life insurance policy.

So you know, I told my wife, I want to be a broker. I want to be an independent broker. As a broker, I have multiple car insurance carriers, and and as a broker, I have multiple life insurance carriers. I'm just not stuck to one company, only their products. This this separates me from the competition because now I could shop when I'm when I was a captive agent. I could only sell their products and services. I was only limited. Now it's unlimited. Now, if you're listening to this program and and you're in a different state other other than Nevada, I'm licensed in 48 states other than California and New York for auto insurance, homeowners renters insurance. I write policies in Texas for life insurance. Again, I'm licensed in California, Nevada, Texas, Louisiana, Michigan, and Mississippi. 702-236-2624. Now I talked about buying a car, whether it's a new car or pre-owned. Car, you know you want to get the best value for your trade-in as well. You can go online and find out what your trade-in value is worth. A lot of times, these dealerships are going to try to undercut you as much as they can. You can negotiate the trade-in value of your car. Yes, you can. Everything is negotiable when you walk in a dealership. Now, some dealerships, there's only one dealership, and I don't want to say the name of it. Everything is non-negotiable, and you know that name of that dealership. So I think most of you know what I'm talking about. You know, no kick, no kicking tires. This is the price. This is the only price, and you can compare shopping. You can always, always be. Don't get impulsive when it comes to purchasing a car, because sometimes when you get a pulsive and you purchase a car, and then all of a sudden you get the insurance shock. Wow, I got to pay this much money for car insurance. Now I have a car payment, and you're like, and hopefully the car that you purchase has a warranty or little maintenance. Now, and I when I'm shopping for cars, especially for pre-owned cars, my client asks me, "What do I look for? Well, if I'm looking for a pre-owned car, I want something that's under, you know, the lowest mileage possible. You see, I'm mileage driven because the less miles on on a car, the less headaches you're gonna have later on down the road. So I try to find cars less than 15,000 miles on them. Yeah, and sometimes you know, depending on the car, I may go as high as 25 to 30,000. But I don't buy cars with 45,050, 60,000 miles on them, because you're buying someone else's trouble down the road pretty soon. Now there are a lot of competitive vehicles out there under 20,000 miles you can purchase. You know, maybe someone leased a car and turned it in, and and the warranty still on the vehicle, or maybe not. But this is what I shop for, and you know, everybody, I take my time because everyone wants the best deal possible when it purchases a car. You want to make sure your car insurance, you can afford your car insurance, and you can afford the car payment. For more information, again, my name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection broadcasting at KUNV, 91.5 Jazmors every every every Sunday morning from eight a.m. to 830. And again, I want to thank the listeners that came in and purchased Home Auto Life Insurance. Thank you so much for your continued support. I had an amazing August. It was one of the best Augusts I ever had for life insurance. Oh my God! And the ladies, I just want to thank the ladies. I just want to take my time out and thank the ladies because the ladies show up and they take care of their business. They really do. The majority of my clients are women. Very rare when I have a man call me, and I mean it's probably 95% female to come to see me for life insurance, auto insurance. Definitely for life insurance, it's probably 98% Women come to see me for life insurance. Only about 2% maybe 3% men come to see me for life insurance.

Now for men for car insurance, they're probably in a about 10% men come contact me for auto insurance, but for the majority, it's all women. Thank you, ladies. Thank you so much, guys. We can step up, you know, because you know you run the household too, and you know if you're a single man or or you know a single dad, hey, let's let's sit down and make do some comparable comparable shopping, and you know, make sure it's right for you. When it comes to life insurance, I focus on what you can afford per month. Now, your life insurance is based on you. Now, when I quote you, life insurance is based on your age, the medications you're currently taking. The medications are very important. I need to know this information, your height, your weight, you know. So there's a few questions I need to ask, and how much one of the main question I'm gonna ask you first is how much insurance you looking to cover, because when you buy a life insurance policy, you're buying coverage, and how much coverage face amount you like to purchase. Now you can start at as low as 10,000, and we can go up, up, and up. Now some policy starts as low as 5000 that I have to offer. That's a whole life policy. The difference between whole life, universal life, and term. Now the whole life policy that I have to offer is up to $50,000 in coverage. There is no physical, no physical to apply for. Just you answer the yes or no questions. I can get you qualified with less than 20 minutes on that policy, whether you're in my office or via phone. 20 minutes-that's all it takes-and you're insured. And a lot-all my customers tell me I should have did this a long time ago. Well, now is the time. If you're 17 years plus years young, you have car insurance but no life insurance. I'm talking to the guys now. You have auto insurance you pay on every month, but you have no life insurance. Stop, you know, stop trying to find something that you you you're not quite sure what you're purchasing. I will go over the insurance. With you line by line, so you fully understand what you're purchasing. You know, there's many times when I ask people, "What insurance company are you insured for for your life insurance? And I'm surprising people don't know. I don't know how much coverage you have. Well, I'm not sure. What are you you paying? How much a month? And you don't know how much what what company it is, and you don't you don't know the face of mind. Well, I bought it a long time ago. The rates keep going up, and I don't understand why. This is why it's important to get an insurance review. I don't charge for an insurance review. You bring in your life insurance policy. We go over your life insurance policy line by line to let you know what you what what you have what you're paying for, I think that's important to know exactly where you are with with your life insurance. I had a young lady; she contacted me. She said, "I need life insurance. You know, I have a life insurance policy, but it keeps going up on me every year on my on the anniversary of the life insurance policy. Well, I reviewed the policy, and I told her she had a flexible premium policy. She had no idea what that meant. That means your policy can't get expensive as you age because now the rates are based on your age, it was locked in for a period of time. The the premium were locked in for a period of time, but when she reached a certain age, you know, then the rates go up every single month. She said, "Well, I don't want that. I live on a budget. I'm retired. So what we did, we canceled that policy, brought her a brand new policy, and she received close to $2,300 back from the life insurance company when she surrendered the policy. Don't cancel policies if you have to surrender your life insurance policy, or if you have a life insurance policy. And let's say you know now the policy is just a little bit too much for you to pay every month.

There is an option to reduce the face amount of the policy. You can reduce the face amount of a life insurance policy to keep your life insurance in place. You know, if things change or your budget change, don't don't like don't let life insurance be the first thing you want to remove or cancel or eliminate. That should be the last because that is your security net. You know that's that's taking away your bank account, your savings account. A life insurance policy is simple. You buy money. You know it's an instant savings account. If you're not really good at saving money, a life insurance is a good option. For you know, let's say you know you've been working all your life. You're you're 59, six, going in 60 years young, right? But you really, you know, you've been working all your life, and it's time to retire. And you find out your benefits is not going to carry you over for life insurance when you retire, because your employer, your employer benefits, they want to keep the group young. Yes, they want a young group. They don't want an older group for life insurance. They don't because the cost is going to go up, and this is why a lot of times when you do retire from these career jobs, that your life insurance will not carry over. If or if it does, it's limited, and the rates go up as you age. Sometimes it's locked in for the first five. I've seen that, and then after the first five years, now the rate adjusts according to your age, or the face amount will reduce down to half. It will reduce down to half, and as you age, it can continue to reduce down to a certain dollar amount. Usually, it it levels off at 25 to 15 to $10,000. Again, my name is Donald Marquez. I'm a licensed insurance agent. If you like what you hear on this program, you know 702-236-2624. That's what you need to do. Is pick up the phone 702-236-2624. If I don't answer, I will call you back. I always always return phone calls. Now, with the whole life product, up to $50,000 in coverage only takes about 20 minutes over the phone or in person. There's no physical exam required, right? No physical physical exam required, and a lot of times too, protection from the very first day, protection from the very first day you're covered, in most cases you are. Now every now and then I'll have a client that don't qualify for day one insurance, and I'm gonna do my best to get your day one insurance. But there is a a grace period of two years, if necessary. A lot of times too, with the policies I offer, the grace period is of two years is not necessary because you're covered very first day, and I'll let you know whether you covered the first day or not. Bill's cash value, what is that? When you build a cash value in a life insurance policy, it's not only giving you a death benefit, but it's also giving you a living a living benefit as well. You have. Living benefit is cash in your life insurance policy. You know, if if you could you could borrow money from, if you need to borrow money, things come up. You might need an air conditioning replacement, a compressor. I just replaced a a compressor, AC compressor. It was it was quite a bit. I didn't use my life insurance for the compressor, for the AC unit, but you know sometimes people don't have an option. They say, "Well, you know what? I have I have a couple $1,000 in my life insurance policy. I do need an air conditioning unit replacement compressor, and they're expensive, very expensive today, and you could use your life insurance. I say I say this: don't drain all your cash value when something comes up. Don't drain it all, because now, you know, now your policy will accumulate an interest rate of anywhere from seven to 9% on money borrowed. Now, once you borrow money from your life insurance policy, you want to pay it back. You know, take out a plan to pay it back within within a reasonable amount of time. Now you do have the option not to pay it back. Pay it back. That's that's my best advice.

Pay it back. But you know, I've talked to people and they let their cash value interest build up over time. Sometimes people, well, I haven't paid on that loan money I borrowed over 15 years, and I said, "Well, now let's. And the review will do this for you. It'll tell you how much you owe on that loan now. Every year, the life insurance company will send you a statement letter, usually at the first of the year. You'll receive a statement on how much money borrowed on your policy, if any, how much cash value you have, what your face amount is, and what your premium is going to be. Rates and benefits are locked in for the life of the policy once you qualify for a whole life policy up to age 121. Yes, you're covered all of your life. Now, if you live to age 100, then you make no more payments. You make no more payments, but you insured the age 121. Again, my name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection: 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. We can cover your children and your grandchildren as long as they're 17 years or younger, we can put coverage on them. That's kind of like a a family plan in a way. Now, husband and wife, we don't put them on a policy together. We don't do that anymore. Years ago, people I've seen policies where the husband was insured on the wife was insured on the husband's policy, or vice versa. We don't do that anymore. Now we can't insure the children or the grandchildren if they're 17 years or younger, and they'll have their own policy. Once they spend off at 25 years young, then they'll receive their own policy as an option. So you know they're insured that if your child is three, they'll be covered until age 25 as a benefit writer on your life insurance policy, or if your grandparents and you want to put your grandchildren or or your grandchild on a policy, you you you're the primary on the policy. They're the writers. If something happens to them, you know if they pass away have a premature passing, then the writer will pay for you know whatever you need those funeral service. You could use that money for funeral services. Again, we don't want anything to happen to our children. That's the last thing you want to do is bury young children. But the protection is there, and it's very low cost. Let's have a conversation about having life insurance. You know, people wait and wait and wait to get a life insurance policy. You know, and I understand. You know, everyone lives on a budget, but waiting for to purchase a life insurance policy is not a good option. It's not because the rate is going to be based on your age. The rate is going to be based on your medications. If you have lupus, I can get you a life insurance policy. If you have diabetes, I can get you a life insurance policy. If you have stage one, stage two cancer with more than 12 months to live, multiple sclerosis, I can get your life insurance policy. I I have companies that I search out for. I've searched and I search and I find companies that I have been appointed to to offer you the life insurance, and this is what separates me from you know when I was working at Allstate and AAA because I didn't have the leverage I have now. I have options now to find you know underlying health conditions with people that's been turned down. If you've been turned down for life insurance, I can get your life insurance policy. If you between the ages of 50 to 80 and you're HIV positive, I can offer you a life insurance policy. My contact phone number is 702-236-2624. 702-236-2624. My name is Don Marquez. I absolutely love what I do. I would love to meet you to talk about you know your insurance. I mean, I love really love being an insurance agent. I was gifted, you know, back in 1996 when I was studying to be an insurance agent, that was a that was a challenge because I hadn't been to school in oh long long long long time.

I became an agent at the age 40, yeah, at the age of 40, and yeah, and and I'm a senior citizen now, and yeah, it was a challenge, a little bit of a challenge, but I got through it. And when I got into the insurance business, I I took upon myself to learn the knowledge of being an insurance agent. I'm not robotic when you call me. I'm very systematic when it comes to making sure this is the right policy for you, making sure it will fit in your budget. I have I have appointments. People come in. Everybody has a certain dollar amount they want to spend each month for life insurance. Let's work with that dollar amount, and I may ask you, you know, assure you options where you know it fits in your budget. So we want to put, we want to make sure that you can afford the policy number one. That's very important. Want to make sure you can afford the policy, fit in your budget. That way, you won't cancel or you know surrender the policy, because once you do that, you know your health could change. You know, if you're a smoker, we have an and I say this and I say it again and again. I think I said this on the last four programs. We have a quit smoking advantage program, up to $50,000 in life insurance coverage. If you are a smoker, right? If you are a smoker, we can have we have a smoker smoker advantage program where you don't pay the smokers' rates, you pay for the non-smokers' rates for the first 36 months. Now you do have to stop smoking those last 12 months. So, in other words, you can smoke cigarettes for 24 months, and then no cigarettes, no no tobacco, no hookah because that's tobacco, no cigarettes, cigars for 12 months. You will be tested at the end of the 36 months. Now, if you you you test negative, then you keep the policy in place with the face amount and the premium amount for the rest of your life, right? You're locked in. But let's say you you you know what? I smoke. I'm not gonna stop smoking. I've quit and started, quit and started over and over again. I know it's not easy to stop smoking cigarettes, but the cost of cigarettes alone, you can get a life insurance policy. You know, if you have a plan to stop smoking, stop buying these very expensive cigarettes. You know, I don't think people, you know, hey, if you're there smoking and they have a pack of cigarettes out, and you're sitting at the bar and somebody says, "Hey, can I? Can I give me a cigarette? People probably say, "Oh no, go buy go buy your own. I mean, they're expensive. I was in the grocery store checking out, and a lady bought a couple packs of cigarettes in front of me, and I'm not. I'm a non-smoker, and I could not believe what two packs of cigarettes cost. And I'm thinking to myself, if a person reduced their cigarette intake 50% they can easily afford a life insurance policy. Let's let's talk about your life insurance policy protection for you and your family. You know, life insurance is a gift of love. I know you love your family, and you wanna you don't wanna leave them in financial ruin when you pass. The average person that passes away, the person who passes away in this country, they leave about $70,000 in debt behind. Do not put your family in that position. One of the leading reasons for bankruptcy is people die and don't have any life insurance. Right? They don't have any life insurance, and your family goes into financial ruin, or they have to come up with the money some way to take care of your remains. My name is Don Marquez. We'll find a policy that fit in your budget. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. Everybody enjoy this beautiful weather right now. It's gonna be nice. No more than 115 weather. I'm so glad. And we'll talk again next week. Everybody, be safe out there. Take care. Bye bye.
