You Good morning. This is your insurance connection. I'm your host. Donald Marquez, on your insurance connection, we talk about saving money on auto insurance, homeowners insurance, yes, and we talk about life insurance. Welcome to the show you. Good
morning. My name is Don Marquez. I'm your host. This is your insurance connection. Broadcasting right here at KU NV, 91.5 jazz and more every Sunday morning, from 8am to 830 keep it like right here. Don't change the dial, uh, keep it like right here, because I have valuable information to give you every, every week about your insurances. What many of you need to be educated about your insurance. They need an insurance class in school. So when you know, when you go to when you go to school, you get taught a lot of stuff you really, really don't need. But I think they should have a class, ongoing class when you get to be probably, you know, in high school, last two years of high school, or the last year of high school, there needs to be an insurance course. That should be a curriculum, because that is going to be a part of your life. For the rest of your life. Everyone is going to have insurance included in their life. You know, responsible people, car insurance, right? Life insurance, homeowners insurance, renters insurance. It is a part of life. Can't get around it, barrel insurance, life insurance, you gotta have it. It's part of life. I think it should be taught in school. I really do. Maybe not, not so much the higher education level. And it can, can continue in the higher education level to better understand it. But I think at a at an age where you're starting to turn maybe a junior in high school, it should be a, you know, a requirement, or even a high school student, because I know a lot of our students are graduating, and they don't they, they are completely lost because they're not talk. They're not taught to me what to expect in life, what? What is the purpose of you growing up, going to school all your life and not graduating from high school and continuing your education and not knowing a whole lot when you get out? I mean, your skills are checking account, or you know how to open up a checking account, how to balance a checking account, these type of skills we need to start teaching our students. But, you know, that's not happening. So this is why I'm on the air. I'm on the air to help you better understand your insurance it's an educational program. I'm a licensed insurance broker that that goes through the process of, you know, taking my time out to come to the studio to educate my listeners about insurance, not only how to save money, that's important for all of us to save money, but you get what you pay for in the insurance business, you do. And I try to compare coverages as far as far as auto insurance coverages, the same coverages you have, or more or better coverages higher limits of liability to protect you when you're in a car accident. And I've had this happen to people that call me all the time, I had to just call just a couple days ago. Mr. Marquez, I heard your program on KU m v 91.5, and I loaned my car out to a relative that was visiting me, and they did not have any car insurance, but now they're at the person I allowed them to drive my car and they had an at fault accident created my insurance rates to go up. Now I need to make this payment, but I would like you to see if you can find me a lower rate to help me. You know, I don't know what to do, because now you've, you've loaned your car to a person without any car insurance, whether they have a non Owners Policy, which means you can have a car insurance policy and you don't own a car. You know, a lot of people don't own cars these days, especially people come from back East. They catch taxicabs. You know the share rights. However, you know this person came to visit. They, they, they the person they was visiting. They loaned them their car. They didn't have any car insurance, you know. And I understand that people don't ask, do you have car insurance? You want to drive my car? Do you have car insurance? It sounds like it's an awkward question, but it's a question of responsibility, because when you loan your vehicle to a person without any car insurance, you're assuming all the responsibility. Let me say that again, when you loan your vehicle out to people that don't have car insurance, regardless if they live with you or visit. You, you are assuming that liability, so when they get in a car accident and it's their fault, you assuming that liability is going to go against your policy, they'll file the people that they injure injure, excuse me, the people that they injure will file a claim against your policy. I get a little excited, you know, talking about insurance. I really do, you know, because I see these silly commercials on TV, you know, 15 minutes to say, you 15% of 20% whatever it is that's, that's, that's not accurate. Or, you know, you know these characters they have, and I understand what they're doing, you know, they're trying to get generate a phone call. But I'm straightforward. I tell it like it is. You know, it is what it is. With me, people don't probably like my straight approach. But, you know, let's get beyond the gimmicks and just be straightforward, because you want a straightforward answer about your insurances. And most, most of the question, I would say, 90% of the questions are, can I save money on my car insurance? Well, sometimes we can, sometimes we can't. However, if I can match your coverages if I can match your coverages with, but with, I would say higher limits of liability, to protect your liability, to protect your liability, because, you know, don't, don't think you're in a bubble. And you know, I have never been in a car accident. I've had people come to me, oh, whoa, never been in a car accident. I'm this perfect person that never gets in the car accident. So I've never had a speeding ticket, I never got in the car accident. Well, good for you. Very few people can say that, but that's up until today. We never know what's tomorrow gonna happen tomorrow, right? We never know what's going to happen tomorrow. It's better to have it and not need it, and then need it and not have it. Richard Price said that on the slogan, I love it. I use it. I use it all the time, because it's true. It is better to have and not to need than the need and not to have. And when you're gonna need it, you want to make sure. I've been in accidents. Okay, I'm just gonna put it out there. I'm transparent. I was downtown one day and in the night, and all the signs were up, I got a little confused with all the signage. I turned left when I should have kept straight, and I had an F all car accident. They filed $100,000 liability claim against me. Fortunately, fortunately, I had the coverage, because I do carry higher limits of liability, I do because I know what can happen. And with people lower limits of liability, you're exposing yourself to damages over and above your policy limits that you could be responsible for. Now, in most cases, I should say this, in most cases, you know there you'll sign a waiver saying that, well, the person can't pursue you anymore, or they have to sign a waiver to saying that, okay, I'm gonna settle with this and I won't pursue the person that hit me that's at fault. That happens, or I've seen it happen in my 25 years of my career. Well, excuse me, my 29 years of my career where you know people that people did not have enough car insurance coverage, and they took the person to court they didn't want to settle with the insurance company. Say, Okay, I'll take this offer and that's it. And they said, No, I might these damage go far beyond they're costing me money because I don't have the health insurance or I don't have the uninsured motorist. So now they're coming after you. Just keep in mind, if people not carrying uninsured motorist coverage, because they find that okay, that's that's causing my rates to go up. So some of the things they eliminate after their car insurance is the uninsured motorist protection. That means, if they don't have, if you don't have enough insurance on your car, they can file a claim against their policy for uninsured motors, protection that will cover them for injuries, not to repair their vehicle, to recover them for injuries. Let's say they take off the uninsured motorist portion of their policy you with them. You have fault, you have the minimum state requirements at 25,000 per person, 50,000 each accident, $20,000 property damage. Their car is worth 60,000 right? It's not going to COVID cost enough to total their car because you only have $20,000 property damage. Let's say their injuries are over $25,000
because you hit them and they don't have uninsured bonus. They have every right to come after you for damages over and above your policy limits, because they're injured, over and above your policy limits, and their car to replace their vehicle is over and above your policy limits. Keep this in mind. Keep this in mind, you could be at risk when you're driving around with minimum state requirements, because you're trying to find a way to save as much money as you can. And I understand. I do. I do understand. And if you're driving that share ride, you know, ask your share ride driver, what's your limits of liability on your share, right? You can you, but when you put when you request a share, right, you should ask the share ride person, what are your limits of liability, just in case there's an accident. I want to know. Am I covered? Now, I think the share ride company will cover you, but they should require their drivers to carry underlying, higher limited liability coverage, and I think some of them do, because some of them lease the cars back from the share ride companies, right? They lease the cars back and they have higher limits of liability, but a lot of people out there drive their own individual vehicles, and I wonder, you know, from time to time, I wonder people taking these share rides, what are the limits of liability when you have that passenger in your vehicle and you you driving around a share ride as a business owner with limit lower limits of liability, you get in a car accident, at fault, you're you're injured. Now, what is share ride going to do for you? You should know this information. This is News You Can Use. My name is Donald Marquez, or you can call me Don Marquez. I'll make it happen a lot quicker. 702-236-2624, now we talked about car insurance, hopefully that you have gotten your REAL ID, made you appointment with the department of motor vehicle to get the star on your driver's license. So if you're gonna fly, you know you won't have any problems getting on the plane. I understand if you don't have the star on your driver's license, they will accept your passport. If you don't have a passport, you don't have the star on your driver's license, and you booking reservations and you paying for your reservations, hmm, it may be a possibility. You may have difficulty at the airport, I don't know, depending on where you're going, especially, listen, especially you can't go out the country without a passport, but if you flying domestic without a passport or the star on your driver's license or your ID card. There could be some issues with that. You can all always make an appointment through the website, the DMV website. You cannot go into DMV. Just show up anymore, even if you handicap your veteran. You know you just can't show up anymore. You have to get online to make an appointment. It that's I was, I was just sitting there just a few weeks ago. I not only got my real ID on my driver's license, they issued me out a brand new driver's license, took a new photo, everything, because my driver's license was going to expire at the end of the year. So they said, well, let's do it now. Let's let's just take care of it now, while you here, and I just had to do a visual test, I'd have to read the last line. And she said, Do you drive with your glasses or without your glasses? I said, I drive with my glasses. And she said, Okay, leave your glasses on, which makes it convenient, because if I took my glasses off, I couldn't see nothing. You had to remove your glasses. No, no, no. That's unfair. So she allowed me to keep my glasses on, and I read the bottom line, flawless, flawless. Got a, a, a, plus. Uh, I'm Don Marquez, this is your insurance connection. Broadcasting, right here. K, U N, V 91.5, jazz and more Sunday morning at am to 830 every Sunday morning, by the way. Let's get into my favorite subject, life insurance. So going to the mailbox, I get this uh, offer from uh, a well known company, right? I'm not going to say the name of the company, because you're like, what's the name of the company, but I'm looking at the rates for women, the rates for men. Right? On this offer in the mail now it says you can buy $50,000 of life insurance send no money. Now I'll just give you a little information. They have monthly rates for men, monthly rates for women, and I look at your age category, and the age category states how much life insurance you can purchase at a certain age. Now, these ages are, you know, from anywhere from 18 and all way up to 89 years young. I couldn't believe it, but, you know, but at 89 or at 86 you're paying a lot of money for the covers. Just keep in mind, but we're talking about $50,000 worth of life insurance. And when you see these commercials, rich starters, low as don't believe in any of that. Don't believe any of that, because those are units. When they say, race to start as low as 999, those are units. Now what is a unit? So a unit is measured. So when we sell we offer life insurance, it is create, we will. We create what we call a unit. So for every $1,000 there is a fee charge for every $1,000 worth of coverage. These are called unit prices. Now, when you hear a rate start as low as 999, they're only talking about one unit. Now if you're a certain age, like let's say you are between 46 and and 50, maybe that and a male maybe that 999, one unit is, you know, is in your category, maybe. And it's a lot of moving parts with that, but I'm gonna tell you how much insurance you get, very little, almost nothing, about $1,000 worth of coverage, just to let you know, just to let you know when you hear that wage started lower 99 well, how much insurance I can get for 999, you know, probably less than $2,000 worth of coverage. Just let you know. Or if you in your 70s, and you're talking about getting that 999 999 rate, you're not gonna get any insurance at all. What they're gonna do, they're gonna bump you up. It's called a bait and switch that you call you ask about the 999 rate is, Oh, yeah. But they tell it, they tell you, Oh, you know, you can get what you get for 999, and you're in your 60s, is probably pay for the flowers, some other flowers anyway, maybe, maybe, maybe not. And then you quickly realize, oh, well, I need more insurance than that. Then they then they come on with the real rates. We are. We all, as insurance professionals, have guidelines to go by. We have a price sheet to go by, and it's according to your health, your your the prior to describe medications you're taking, your age, sometimes your height, your weight, sometimes, I have companies don't, don't care about your height or your weight. That's not one of the questions to ask. I have companies. The same company will will not ask you, do you smoke cannabis? And if you do smoke cannabis, we will not rate you as a smoker, only if you smoke cannabis, but if you vaping, that's tobacco. Keep that in mind. Well, smoke cigarettes, but I'll go to the club and I'll vape. That is tobacco. It will show up in your bloodstream, body fluids. If we have to go out and test you, because now you want a $300,000 life insurance policy, and you just left the club Friday night, we're testing you Monday morning for a $300,000 life insurance policy, tobacco is going to show up in your body fluids. Keep that in mind, so when you smoke, Dave, that's tobacco. It's a mild form of tobacco, but it's going to show up and you will probably be rated as a smoker in most cases. My name is Don Marquez, more information is on the way again. So when we rate you, there is a certain it is $1 amount for every $1,000 with the life insurance you purchase. Just keep that. In mind, don't get fooled by these, these gimmicks on television to get you called, to get the call, and they make a lot of money. I give it to them. They make a lot of money because they have a lot of people fooled. Oh, I got, I'm in my mid 70s. I need, I haven't bought life insurance since I retired. And that is an excellent time before you retire to purchase your life insurance policy, because when you leave that career job, after all the many, many years of service, and you walk away with your retirement check, monthly retirement check, God bless you. Good for you. But when it comes to benefits, and if you are receiving benefits for life insurance on their retired career that you just retired from, they're going to be cut down, or they're going to be the or they're going to go up, they're going to be reduced. They just do all of them reduce as you age. Now, if you have a life insurance policy, if you have a life insurance policy, and you find your policy is going up on you, and you don't quite understand why, this is why I offered no obligation insurance reviews to sit down with you with your policy and long as you give me permission to call the insurance company to just get a good understanding where you are with your policy rates and benefits, how they affect you on the long term. Because now you're in your 70s, what happens when you're in your 80s, on your life insurance policy, if you paying more now in your mid 70s, can you just imagine what you're going to pay when you hit 80? And now what you look at, and most people do, they look well, this policy will last me to age 95 but what the rate's going to look like at age 7980
8182 it could be unaffordable, because the rates can get very, very, very, very expensive at that age. If your rates are going up on you every single year, regardless of the policy, it could be a term policy, and more more than likely, these are term policies. Now you out of the term contract, which is a 20 year, 30 year term contract. You're out of the contract, and now you an extended term of the contract, and the rates will go up very expensive, to the point where, you know what, I can't afford this policy anymore. It's too much because you didn't convert the policy over before age 70. With what a conversion means is you can convert a life insurance policy before age 70, for whole life insurance for the cover you for the rest of life, a racing benefits are locked in for the life of the policy. But no one explained that to you because you saw something in the mail you per you like, Oh, this looks good. Let me fill it out and send it in and not knowing what you just bought. It's not like going to the gas station, you know, you have these choices. Oh, I gotta let it unleaded, or I got, you know, the premium. That's simple. That's simple, but life insurance is too complicated to do this on your own. This is why insurance companies have life insurance specialists like myself, life insurance professional agents. We're here to help you step by step, guide you through the process so you make the right decision for you and your family. Because when that day comes, and it comes for all of us, you know, it's just a day waiting on us when we gonna leave this earth and we're gonna leave a bill behind. We always do. Nobody dies free. No one dies for free. There's going to be a funeral. Someone has to pay for a funeral, and who's gonna pay for it? Are you gonna leave your family in debt to say, You know what? I don't care what y'all do with me, and to see that's that's unfair to your family. When you say, you know, when you say stuff like that, that is totally unfair. When you make that statement to your family, oh, you know, I don't care what you gotta do to me. I don't care what you do to me. Then what you're saying is, I don't care about paying for this. I don't mind you going into debt. For me, that's what they're saying. But you gotta hear the words and you listening to this program right now. You could be the responsible one for one of your loved ones for you, maybe from one of your siblings, your mom, your dad, your grandparents, or even your aunts and uncles. You could be the responsible person to take care of their final expenses regardless of medications they're taking. Let me take you through the process, step by step. Let's find an affordable rate with coverages you can live with that will pay for that final expense, with no medical examination, just a few questions. Rates and benefits are locked in for the life of the policy. My name is Don Marquez. I'll take you through the process. Very simple, very easy. I'll make it very easy for you. You just ask a few I answer a few health questions. And if you don't, if you have a spouse that don't want to talk about life insurance and tell the wife, listen. You take care of it. I don't want to be bothered with it. You you go ahead and take care of it. I can offer a policy to a spouse without their husband present, okay? Or if a wife doesn't want to talk about the life insurance and the husband wants to put life insurance on the wife, which is very rare, usually, most of my calls will come from women. Eight out of 10 calls, they're all women. And I think you ladies, I think. Thank you. And if and the gentleman that contact me, I want to thank all my listeners that do contact me to purchase home auto life insurance. I offer home auto life insurance, boat motorcycle insurance. My name is Don Marquez, boat and boat season is right here upon this if you want to, you know, do a comparison on your boats. I offer a very competitive rates. You do have to carry $100,000 liability protection on your boat on the lake at Lake Mead. Just want to let you know that 702-236-2624 702-236-2624
you know, people tell me something. Well, you know, I can't afford any life insurance. Can you afford not to have it? Who's gonna pay for that funeral? Who's gonna pay for it? If you can go to the casino, get 15, $20 drinks, you can afford a life insurance policy. If you purchase your lunch every day, you can get a life insurance policy. Prepare your lunch, take it to work with you. Eat healthy, fast foods, Deaf foods. It's rare when I go to a fast food restaurant, when I do, I'm like, What did I do this for? It's, you know, it wasn't like, it was back in the day, you know, a buddy of mine called me one day, you know, we was out doing some we was at Home Depot getting some hardware stuff, you know. Then it was a, it was one of these fast food burger places right across from, you know. And so we said, um, he said, man, let's go over and get a, get a burger, you know, a Burger King. I'm like, okay, all right, let's go over here. I haven't had a Burger King 2530 years really. I mean, they used to be pretty good back then. I thought so. But that was 2030 years ago. Wow. We went in there and sat down, and I just, I couldn't do. I took one bite out of the burger, and I just couldn't do. It was this, no, man, this is not, this is not healthy. This is all processed, you know, not the fact that I do kind of I am healthy. I eat fruits and vegetables daily. I have to. I eat fruits and vegetables. Drink more water than I ever have in my life. I drink, you know, try to curb down on the soda every night, Coca Cola calling. I've had a couple of cokes this week. I had a burger that I cooked at home, and I had chips and a burger and burger chips and Coca Cola. And I felt guilty after I drink the Coca Cola, but, you know, but that day later, that day, I just got I loaded up on my veggies and fruits and a lot of water to, you know, just to, you know, to make it right kind of balance out the ecosystem inside of me, balance out my biological just to make me feel okay, because I don't want to wake up in the morning, you know, all knotted up. And, you know, I cook at home a lot because I find out, first of all, groceries are very expensive. Why go out and spend money on fast foods when I can buy groceries and go home and cook it, it just takes a little bit a little bit more time out of your day to cook the food. Just take it out, freeze it and cook it later. But you know these fast foods, if you go into fast food for lunch every day or for dinner when you get off from work, you know, stopped it stop. You can get a life insurance policy with the money you're spending, on average for 10 to $15 on fast food. You cut that out of your diet, and then you're gonna feel better, feel healthy. Stop smoking. If you can completely stop smoking, and you can, if you can, if you are a smoker, we'll give you up to 12 months smoke free. We would not rate you as a smoker. Now, if you smoke a cigarette within that 12 months, then your rates could go back to a smoker rates. My name is Don Marquez. I can help you through the process. Let's find a policy that will fit in your budget. 70223626247022362624,
