Donald Marquez 0:46
good morning. My name is Don Marquez. This is another edition of your insurance connection. Broadcasting right here at KU NV, 91.5 jazz and more. Early Sunday morning. Welcome to my show. I am a licensed insurance broker right here in my hometown, Southern Nevada. And I'm also licensed in California, yes, licensed in California to do business. And I just want to wish everyone Happy Holidays. Doing these holidays. You know, a lot of people out there shopping. We a lot of car accidents. Yeah, I see it all the time. Slow down. The sales will be there when you get to the store. Slow down. You know, you don't want to, you don't want to have an accident during the holidays. That's just really bad. Or, you know, just you don't want to get a speeding ticket. Or DUI. Listen, those DUIs run about $9,000 just to let you know. So if you are going to the Celebrate during the holidays and with family and friends, and you have to drive home and have a couple drinks in you, you may want to take a share, right? Just consider that the cost for a share ride is going to be a lot less if you have to go to jail for the go over the weekend. And you know, because you have a DUI, it's not good, your license is going to get suspended, and your car insurance is gonna go way up. Yeah, way up in price. This is News You Can Use. I'm not trying to scare anymore. I'm just trying to tell you what happens during holiday. As an insurance professional, I've seen it far too many times doing this this time of the year. And you know, it's good to get together with friends, family members. And, you know, just to reflect on the year just passed, it's been a lot of things happening and, you know, and I can reflect on this 2025, year, and I've seen people come and go, and loved ones and family members that we've lost. And you know, their time is over and on a new path in the afterlife, but we're still here. We're still here. And you know, it's time, a reflection. For me, it is, and you should reflect on, you know, this last 12 months, how time goes by, and it seems like when you know, when you hit the age of 50, time just goes by in a blink of an eye, you know. And at my age, you know, I can remember when I was 50 and when people I talked to people on the phone, they said, I'm a senior citizen. And they say, You don't sound like one, but I am. I'm a prime senior citizen. But, you know, I have a lot of anxious, you know, in me, I'm very antsy. You know, I get excited when I talk about insurance. I just really do, because we all have to have it. We all have to have it in one form of another. It's something you can't feel, touch, you know, hold in your hand, you can't but it's there when you need it, regardless of the product, home, auto life insurance, boat, motorcycle insurance, we all need it, and we all try to save money, especially on auto insurance. I do that. I try to do the best I can what I have to work with. You know, some of you, you spend a little extra money on your car insurance, because when you do have a minor fender bender or a claim and it's not your fault, you file a claim against your own policy. Now, when you try to shop for car insurance and you file a claim against your own policy, that sometimes you know the we receive the report back that you're at fault. Now, this has happened over and over again in my 30 years, and I said, Why did you file a claim against your own car insurance policy? Well, that's why I pay insurance. No when a person hits you, and it's not your fault and they do claim responsibility, right? You file a claim against their policy, because when you file a claim against your policy it causes your policy rates to go up, or if it doesn't adjust, it makes it very difficult for for you to shop for car insurance, because when I ask my clients, I said, Okay, or potential clients, I should say, you had an accident on this date, this time. And they want to know, how do. I know that. I said, well, because it's on your driving history, you had a speeding ticket on this date. How do you know that? Well, it's on your motor vehicle report. It's on your clue so we run, as insurance professionals, we run what we call a clue report. Now, a clue report is any accidents you may have, any accidents you have and a claim was paid out where and when you file a claim for like a replacement of a windshield or or your car was damaged, or like any any type of liability claims, it's going to be on what we on our report, called Local report, one a client is on the phone or sitting across the desk from me, I can run their motor vehicle report, and all this information comes up. So it's not like I'm sitting behind the desk and I'm inputting this information. Oh, you got a speeding ticket on this date. How would I know that? And I've had over funny. I'm laughing because I've had customers ask me, Well, you put that in there. Well, how would I know you received a ticket on this date. How would I know that? Well, okay, that makes sense. Well, because when you go to the court and then you have a speeding ticket, and I don't know what that other step is to eliminate that speeding ticket, but a lot of times, too, when the courts say they'll reduce it down to a parking ticket, a speeding ticket, we see it now, I do have a colleague I work with. Her name is Christine Bernard. She is a paralegal, and what she does for me is help me with my clients, and I'm an all service insurance agent, and I have people working with me to make sure your car insurance stay low. Now when you receive a speeding ticket, Christine Bernard can get it reduced down to a parking ticket in most cases. I don't give myself a little wiggle room, you know, I'm not saying all cases, but I would say 99% of their cases, as long as you don't go to the courts and pay it. Christine Bernard can get your speeding ticket reduced down to a parking ticket. My name is John Marquez, hopefully this is news. You can use my contact phone number is 702-236-2624, 702-236-2624, my business hours are Monday through Friday, from 10am to 5pm located on the corner of Sahara and Rancho in the US bank center, eighth floor, 702-236-2624 I work by appointment. I work by appointment, and I love to see you now on Saturdays, I will work via phone. 702-236-2624 they closed the office on on the weekends. Now I can't go up to there. It used to be I had 24/7 access, but they want to save money over the weekend, so they close the building down. I'm in a bank building on the eighth floor, overlooking the strip, so I don't, I don't have an office like a normal insurance agent, you know, have the office that you pull up to and go in. I used to have one of those when I was an Allstate agent and a triple A insurance agent. But, you know, as a broker, I do just a little different, because I want more of the personal touch, the one on one with my clients. I'm an old school insurance agent, you know, we come, we sit down, we talk, we don't, I don't shuffle you around like, you know, when I had my when I had my other agencies, it was in and out, people in and out, you know, revolving door. So I spent a little time with you, but I had to hurry up, because I got somebody else waiting. But now, as an insurance broker, I'm gonna give you at least an hour and a half to two hours of my time when we sit down and have a conversation. Now, this is what happens. You bring your insurance information in if you have it for auto insurance. If not, that's fine. With Auto Insurance, I could pull up a lot over the over the computer. However, with the with the life insurance, I cannot pull your life insurance policy up. And I've had people call me, hey. I just lost a loved one. I think, I think my dad had life insurance. You know, all my grandparents had life insurance. How do we look that up? Well, you can't. You can't. The only way you can find out whether you're, you know, your family or your friends had life insurance if you have access to their checking account. And more than likely, you know, you could see the activity on the checking account, say, for an excellence, for an example, Mutual of Omaha was a life insurance company. Now you can see the deductions taken from Mutual of Omaha. Now you know at least what company it is. If you're not the primary beneficiary, you can call, you know, the only the primary beneficiary can contact Mutual of Omaha and receive those you know, final expense benefits, let me say that again to make it clear, because I do get these calls. Okay, I pay on the policy. It was my husband. Husband's policy, but he had his ex wife on the policy. He was going to change it, but he never got around to it. But unfortunately, he passed. Now, this the way it works, although you his wife and you were paying on the policy, but his ex wife is a primary beneficiary. She receives the benefits now, believe it or not, in my 30 year career, I've had that happen multiple times, yes, multiple times, when you have an ex spouse still on your life insurance as your primary beneficiary

Donald Marquez 10:41
and now your current spouse is you, and your current spouse is probably playing, paying on the policy, right? You're paying on the policy, monthly payments without making that change. And I don't know why people don't make the change. Maybe you just forgot. I don't know. Maybe you forgot. Well, when we procrastinate, you know, here we go, procrastinate. Yeah, I'm gonna take care of it. When you gonna change the beneficiary? When you gonna change? You know? Because women, they tell men, they remind men what we need to do as and as sometimes, as men, we just like, oh, yeah, okay, I'm gonna get to it. I'm gonna get to it. Don't stop bugging me. I get to when I'm ready. And that's what you don't tell her, that would you thinking that, right? But now, all of a sudden, now you have a premature passing Wow, and your ex wife is still is your primary benefit beneficiary? Or I get this from time to time when the primary beneficiary is deceased, right? 100% primary beneficiary deceased. Now the person that was the insured, let's say, okay, for an example, husband and wife. Why husband deceased? He was a primary beneficiary on the wife's policy. Now the wife is deceased, knowing they don't have a contingent beneficiary. Now the policy goes into probate. You know, we have to take care of our final expenses. We have to take care of our business. We really do. We really do if you get, if you have a new wife, and, you know, and you want to change that information, only thing you need to do is contact the life insurance company and make the change. Time is an asset. And I've said this many times on this program, time is too much of an asset to wait. You cannot get back last week. You cannot get it back. It's gone. We're moving forward one second at a time and a reason. When I'm I'm relaying this information to your listeners, and I'm not trying to bring anyone on the diner. I know it's the holidays, and everybody's having a good time and celebrating. And we have all had it sparing the side of us. And I try to knock it, but it's at the end of the year. You know, if you don't have a life insurance policy, and you, you've heard this program many times, and I would get calls, oh, you know, I've heard you for the last couple years, and over at 91.5 jazz and more. And now, you know, I'm finally get this policy. Well, why would it take you two years to do it? Or if you're saying to yourself listening to this program, you know what I'll call Donald, the first of the year, you don't have to wait to the first of the year. You don't have to do it wait to the first of the year, because I'm gonna tell you what happens the first of the year. New Year's roll around. I don't know you might have a slight hangover or something. I don't know that happens right then, right after New Year. And then we have, you know, certain holiday, Martin Luther King Day, right after that, right after that, we have the Super Bowl. Right after that is taxes, Valentine's Day. Bang, bang, bang. And now we are, we in April, May, June, and you still haven't contacted me, but your intention is to contact me the first of the year. I'm gonna call Donald Marquez, the first city I need this life insurance. I really do. I'm gonna contact him the first year. But this is what happens. So, you know, holidays come up, events come up, and I'm the last one you think about. That's why you don't have to wait to the first city. I'm available now. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 My name is Don Marquez. I love what I do. Absolutely love what I do. As an insurance professional, I agree. Sometimes I see my customers out and it's like, Hey, Dave Marquez, how you doing? How much is my car insurance gonna be this month? My policy is renewing. I don't know. I don't know. I'm good, but I'm not that good. I do rely on my computer to help me. So when you see me out and ask me how much your car insurance is going to be for on your renewal. I have no idea. I really don't. And when I have too many clients, you know, and you know, the way I find out if your car insurance is adjusted and it's okay to call me, and then let's see if we can get a readjustment. But I just have too many clients. To look at every renewal, because people renew their car insurance every single day. You know, I've been in business for a long time. You know, 30 years in this insurance business, that I can't see every renewal comes up. I just can't. It's just impossible. I would spend my whole day just looking at that and not servicing and offering insurance to my customers that need it. My name is Don Marquez. I'm a licensed insurance broker for life insurance, home, auto, boat, motorcycle insurance at service state of Nevada, California. California only for life insurance. At this time, we know what goes on in California. A lot of moving parts in California. But if you're in Nevada, I have auto, home life insurance, renters insurance as well. If you are a renter, you do need renters insurance, and renters insurance covers your liability, just like a homeowner's policy, just like a homeowner's insurance policy, it covers your liability. Now, why should? Why should that matter? Because it does, because if you're you're living in an apartment, or you're renting a home, and you cause significant damage to that home, let's start a fire, right? Or there's a liability claim, someone came to the house, you know, and there's a liability claim, maybe they slip and fail, or maybe they had too many drinks at your house and got into a car accident, and now they're trying to blame you for having drinks at your house. So there's a lot of reason why you want renters insurance now, homeowners insurance is pretty much a priority. If you have a loan, okay, you have to have homeowners insurance to cover for your liability or property damage, or if there's a theft. Now, if you're our renter, there's a theft. Some of these apartment complexes, they don't cover your personal property. Keep that in mind. Well, you know, if I have people say, Well, you know, I just need car insurance, because I have renters insurance through my landlord where I live, but you have to read the policy, because it may or may not cover your furniture, your jewelry, you know your you know your other you know your other property that you own. Keep that in mind. Now, another thing about homeowners and renters, because people do buy pets for Christmas presents. You don't want to get a dog, a pit bull. No, you don't want to get a rotten Wilder. No, right? And oppressor can arrow. I don't know what that is, but it's a big dog. They have a lot of teeth. I've only seen one in my lifetime. Oppressor Canary, as big as it's a big dog, like big as a wolf, big, but it has a bite. It bites people. You know now certain dogs you should check with your insurance carrier, or you can contact me at 702-236-2624. 702-236-2624, if you're thinking about getting a dog now the little ankle snappers, you know, the little the little lot, little bitty dogs with all the hair and bark a lot, or no hair and bark a lot. They're usually okay, but it's mainly the pit bulls and the Rottweilers that the insurance companies, we don't insure them now. They're insured. They may or may not insure you some of these insurance companies for renters insurance or homeowners insurance because they don't want to take the risk with the Wat Wilder or the Domer, the Doberman, in the household. So now, and I know people say, Well, you know, I have a pit bull and Rod Wilder. They're the sweetest dog ever. They just sleep all day long. But it's unfortunately, it's the other dogs with the history. Now, you're a dog, not you know, I've had people with pit bulls named fluffy. Come on, for real. If you got a pit bull, you got to name a pit bull like Duke, you know, killer or something. He just can't name a pit bull fluffy. I see you got a dog named fluffy. Yeah. What breed is he? He's a pit bull, but he's so nice. He's so gentle. And I'm sorry I can't, I could. I can't offer you homeowners insurance, if we do, you have to sign a waiver the dog is not covered for liability. This is News You Can Use. My name is Don Marquez, 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 my location is on the corner Sahara and Rancho in the US bank center located on the eighth floor, I can write a policy over the phone. I can write a policy of the phone is real quick, easy, simple. We can get it done over the phone. 702-236-2624, and think about it, over the phone is extremely convenient, you know. So it'll save you time gas, and you know, we can make it happen again. 702-236-2624,

my name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. Broadcasting right here at KU NV, 91.5, jazz and more every Sunday morning from 8am To 830 I would love to talk to you about your insurances. Now let's talk about life insurance. Yes, life insurance, which is my best subject, life insurance, we can find a policy for you that's affordable, that will fit in your budget. You can make payments, monthly payments. You can select a due date, in other words, the date the money comes out of your account. So you can select the first to the 28th so a lot of people like the 15th, for whatever reason, we can get your policy withdrawn on those dates that's comfortable for you. If you have your Social Security check and you and the money comes out on, let's say, the second Wednesday of the month. We can make that happen too. Now with your life insurance? Of course, I talked about your beneficiary. You want to make sure you know your beneficiary, understand they are the beneficiary. Don't know in the in the mortuaries, people bring their policies in, you know, to find out quickly. Number one, you know you bought the wrong policy about accidental only is not going to cover this funeral because your loved one passed of natural causes. So you don't want to accidental only policy. And I do not offer accidental only policies. I'll get you a real policy for final expenses when that time comes and we have a date, each and every one of us have a date when a lot of times too they also find out that you're not the primary beneficiary. Only the primary beneficiary, or the beneficiaries, can come in and file a claim for the mortuary to assign themselves to your life insurance policy. You do need the primary beneficiary now, if you are taking out a policy with me, I encourage you to tell the beneficiaries that they are your beneficiary or beneficiaries. That's very important, because they're the only ones can sign off. Now, if you're in a position where you're paying on a life insurance policy, like I talked about earlier in the conversation, and you're also the primary, the 100% beneficiary. You still cannot call in and to make any changes on the life insurance policy unless you get permission from the insured individual or the owner of the life insurance policy. Okay, so, but if you need to be the owner of the life insurance policy, just contact your the insurance company and get the forms you need to fill out. It's quick, easy. A lot of times you can do this online, and you can change ownership. Now, the person still insured, but maybe they, you know, they come in, you know, they might have Alzheimer's dementia, and someone needs to, you know, be able to talk to the insurance companies, but you may have to change bank accounts. You may have to change your beneficiaries, but with a person with dementia, we cannot take if you're looking at the purchase of new policy, and let's say your dad has dementia or your mom, we cannot take money out of their account for the life insurance. It must be someone without dementia for the life insurance. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624, also have a company. I have all these companies. I do have a lot of companies. They'll give you an opportunity to stop smoking within first 36 months, up to $50,000 in Whole Life coverage. There's no medical exam, just a few questions. It takes about 20 minutes, and we're done over the phone, 20 minutes over the phone, and we're and you'll have up to $50,000 worth of life insurance from age 40 to age 85 years young. Now I do have policies from day one up to age 85 but every every person is different. When it comes to life insurance, everyone doesn't fit in the same box. Okay, everyone doesn't fit in the same box. Let me guide you through the process. You know, I'll ask questions up front. You know, women don't like to tell me they're the age or the weight. I need to know this information, ladies, I am not judging you. I'm just trying to get you some life insurance. I'm trying to get you that policy that will fit now I do have one company. They will not ask your weight. Now that's up to $35,000 in coverage whole life, up to age 100 they won't ask you how tall you are, how much you weigh? 702-236-2624, you'd be surprised. I have so many ladies like why I don't want to tell my weight, even if we're face to face, I can kind of guess. I can kind of guess what they wait is, but I need to know, because I'm trying to place insurance with you on you something that is affordable, something that will fit in your budget. And I just want to tell all you listen to this program right now. Thank you so much for your continued support. And I know you're on a budget. We all are. We on a budget too. I'm on a budget. You're on a budget. Everyone's on a budget. Let's find something that works in your budget that you can afford, because when you take out a life insurance policy, you want to keep it. Much you want to keep it. My name is Don Marquez, licensed insurance agent, broadcaster, right here at KU NB, 91.5 jazz and more every Sunday morning, from 8am to 830 I want to everyone have a safe holiday. You know, I talked to mortuary owners, and they say this is their busy season. If you have a friend or a family member you haven't talked to in a long time, pick up the phone and call them, say, Dad, just want to find out how you doing. I know you live alone. It's been a while since we spoke. Just pick up the phone and say, Hey, how you doing? That would probably mean a lot to a lot of people. A lot of people get depressed this time of year. You know, they probably lost their spouse, you know, and this time of year is a little tough. I understand that I'm, you know, I'm in that category where I lost a spouse, and it's, you know, my my Christmas is, my Christmas holiday is just not the same, but I get it. I get it, and never will be the same. But if you know someone in a similar situation, or you know someone just live alone, just pick up the phone and say, Hey, how you doing, just call and say, how you doing. Happy Holidays, and if you like, invite them over for dinner. You know that could mean a lot to a lot of lonely people. It's a lot of lonely people out there today, right and then, and people that you already know. So reach out to them, forgive them for whatever reason, whatever happened. That's the past. You know, time is short. You know, my name is Don Marquez, hopefully that you know that that helps you along your way your day. And, you know, just pick up a phone call and help a family member or a friend, just to you know, get through the holidays and it's some sometimes as simple as a phone call means, means a lot to so many. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 My name is Dave Marquez, this is your insurance connection. We'll do this again next week, I want everyone to have a safe holiday. Until then, just keep it crispy. Thank you for listening. You.
