Good morning. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. Broadcasting right here at K, U, N, V, 91.5 jazz and more. Early Sunday morning, we're starting to cool off. We're gonna cool off this week. Y'all, whoo, I can't wait the summer almost over. I love Las Vegas, my hometown, you know, but I don't like the summers at all because it's just a little bit too hot. And believe it or not, this was a mild summer going into the fall. Can't wait football, you know. Then right after that, basketball and just cool, cooler days and cooler nights. I'm if it's this is your first time listening to me. I'm a licensed insurance broker. My business is called your insurance connection. I named it your insurance connection so I can connect to you, the people that listening to this program. I've been connecting people with insurance for the it'll be 30 years in this coming November, the day right before Thanksgiving, that's when I received my first I passed the insurance exam. So let me say that I've been involved in insurance business, and as always, it was the day before Thanksgiving when I passed the exam, and I was fortunate to join all state insurance company as a licensed insurance agent offering home, auto life insurance, boat, motorcycle insurance, the products I offered at all state back in the 90s. That was in the late 90s, you know it was, it was very exciting, because number one, Allstate gave me an amazing training opportunity to learn the insurance business, amazing staff management, that guy guided me through the process. I stayed at Allstate with my own agency for seven years, and I had an amazing time at all state, but it was time for me to move on. I'm always looking for unique opportunities. And a lot of a lot a lot of us, was recruited by a triple A insurance company, and I looked at their benefit package and I said, You know what this is? This is pretty good over here. You know, less headache owning your own business, and it was easy. It was great people walk in the front door at triple A, stay there long enough at triple A, long career at triple A, long enough to retire in 2015 in 2015 I decided to be a licensed insurance broker. And the reason why I chose the path of being a licensed insurance broker is because when I sold for Allstate Insurance Company their insurance products, as well as AAA insurance products, I could only offer their products and services, meaning the companies had me as what we call a captive agent. I can only sell their licensed products. But if I had a person that came in that needed a whole life insurance policy, and they had underlying health conditions, let's say, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, you know, a history of cancer. And they've been turned down by multiple companies, but they come to come to me for help, and I and I would have to turn them down working with those two companies, and they're very fine companies. I'm not putting them under the throwing them under the bus at all, but I quickly realized multiple times, picking up a phone, calling a licensed insurance broker, which I am today, to place my clients with a policy, a life insurance policy, number one, they can afford, and number two, that they absolutely needed for their protection for their family, although, you know, these customers had underlying health conditions all state. And triple A, they didn't decline offering any insurance policy simply because they had underlying health conditions. And you know, listening to this program yourself, you could be a diabetic or you could have a history of cancer or multiple sclerosis. You know, Dave, you know, diabetes is a big one. I don't, I didn't realize how many people were turned down for life insurance be on simply because they have diabetes. Another one is, you know, people have, you know, loss of memory, dementia, all. Timers and those two previous companies were turning them down. Now, as a licensed insurance broker, you know, I'm go back a little bit to 2015 when I decided to make the leap, you know, Allstate and triple A companies I worked for. I met some incredible staffers. You know, worked with some incredible people. I learned. I learned the business. I learned how to serve my clients best interests. I'm in a fiduciary position of trust. I represent you, and also the life insurance company. I bring you to the life insurance company something number one, you can't afford, and you do qualify for. I have Whole Life policies that I place people with with underlying health conditions. As a licensed insurance broker, I represent multiple life insurance companies, and it's a pleasure to say that you know it really is because you just can't do what I do just day one is it takes some experience. It really does, I mean, because you have to understand the underwriting underlying guidelines. Underwriting guidelines we have. So when I present my clients to an insurance company that we select that number one you can't afford, it's the right coverages for you, and it has to go through underwriting. And fortunately, today, with technology, with the Whole Life policies up to $40,000 in coverage, we get an instant decision. In other words, computer it, it underwrites you. Yes, it underwrites you. From age 40 to age 85, years young, I can write you a life insurance policy where there's absolutely no physical you know, I mean, an instant like 30 minutes, less than 30 minutes, you're insured, and a lot of times too, these policies are day one coverage with absolutely no physical. There's no physical to apply for just a few health questions. And you know, you have to ask yourself the question, Am I, you know, covered? Do I have insurance? Without any life insurance? How is my family gonna survive? You know, how are they gonna without me, without my income? You know, loss of life is very hard to deal with. I've dealt with it. I've experienced it. And as a licensed insurance agent for almost 30 years come to well, we'll be 30 years in November. I might as well say 30 years. You know, 30 years of experience. I'm gonna just put it out there, because I make it to November.
Donald Marquez 7:31
But with my with my education in this business, I learned you care for people, that people is an ass, people, you are assets to your family members to yourself, you and time is also an asset, and it goes by one second at a time, you know. You probably can recall what happened five years ago, you know, and that was like in a blink of an eye. And let's even go further back. Let's go back 30 years ago, how your life was 30 years ago. And you can say to yourself, where did the time go? I'm saying that now because in 30 in November, it will be 30 years for me in the insurance industry, and it just went by really quick with the experience that I've gained and the knowledge and the people that I've met. I don't realize the significance of what I do as a licensed insurance agent, now a licensed insurance broker. When I delivered my first death benefit to a family losing a loved one, it was $100,000 life insurance policy. Young lady unexpectedly passed. She left behind a young son. The mother and the father passed in a tragic incident, and her sister was left with a young boy. He was only six years young. But fortunately, I convinced her, as an insurance agent back with all state to purchase a life insurance policy. She kept like, you know, turning me down, like, Oh no, no. I just, I'm not interested. I'm not interested. And I said, you know, I presented her a policy, something she can absolutely afford. It was, it was $100,000 in coverage, and that was back in the nine late 90s. And she said, You know what, I'm tired of you asking me, Sign me up. And I did. I signed her up. Unfortunately, you know, a year and a half later, she lost her life in a tragic accident, her and her husband, you know, Paris, the same day, left behind a, you know, six year old child, and the aunt, you know, took her sister's child in to raise him, presented the check to her sister, which she was the beneficiary of her policy, and she said, this, this money will go a long way. I'm gonna make sure I take care of college as much as I can. And you know this, this goes a long way, but these stories are not you know, has affected me through the many years of being a licensed insurance agent. I share my stories with my clients and also my listening audience right here at KU m v 91.5, Have jazz or more, because we're not immune to, you know, that day, and it comes for all of us, the day that we're gonna leave this earth. We're gonna leave behind, probably significant debt. You have to consider expenses. You know, you have to consider the mortgage or the rent, credit card payments, utility bills, outstanding medical bills. You know, the loss of a spouse is, could be the loss of an income, family, loss of income due to, you know, some type of illness, you know, and all of a sudden, because we never know, we never know when that day can happen. And you know, of course, you know that you call, you have the cost of food, which is, you know, very expensive today, clothing and transportation. It is simple. It is very simple. If you think about it, you ask yourself the question, How will I leave my family when I leave here? Because I'm not going to live forever. You got to ask yourself the question, I'm not going to be here forever. Well, they'll will they be financially secured, or will they mourn? Or will I'm allow them a chance to grieve, allow allow them to mourn my passing. And I want you to be around for a very, very long time and healthy. Be around for a long time. Who wants, you know, I feel bad for people that I'm I'm aging, I'm up in age, and I'm a senior citizen. People call me, it's like, you know, sound like a senior citizen? Well, I smile a lot, I laugh a lot. I have joy in my heart. I'm a positive thinker, and that reflects but I know for a fact that, you know, my experience have taught me, and life has taught me, that when that day comes, and it comes for all of us, are you prepared? Will you find out by, you know, way of, Hey, Dad didn't have any life insurance. Will you find that out at the wrong time? I mean, when you when you have to bury your dad or your mother or your grandparents or even a child, and you say to yourself, you know, I should have bought that life insurance, you know, now I got to come out of my expenses, which is very tight today, and pay for this very expensive service. And there's no inexpensive way to do it. There's no inexpensive way to do it. I have, I have taken the liberty or go to different mortuaries and talk and talk to the you know, people over at the marjoras, and they tell me time and time again, you know, people come in with this accidental only life insurance policy, and their family members pass of natural causes, and I have to break their heart and say, this policy is not gonna pay for a $20,000 funeral. It just won't, because it's accidental only your loved one passed some natural causes. Or, you know, I've talked to people at the mortuaries, and they tell me, you know, people bring young people in because it is fentanyl. Problem we're having with fentanyl, people are losing I just recently left. I lost a friend a couple weeks ago. You know, come to find out he was, you know, involved in drugs and someone I know when growing up in my neighborhood, he was a little younger than me, but I knew him, and they found him, you know, fentanyl overdose. I don't quite understand the drug dealers today. Why would you give your customers a deadly drug that'll kill them? Aren't you losing customers? But the funeral homes are starting to be overwhelmed by young people in this fentanyl overdose and, you know, and some seniors too, as well. We have to be careful. We have to take care of our bodies. You know, stay away from that. Please. Stay away from that, because it's taken, it's taken young lives, and the funeral homes are just backed up with but young people, you know, you're very young people, OD and off of overdosing, off of fentanyl. This is one of the reasons why I come on the radio to help educate you to understand that, you know, be prepared, because you know these, these expensive I just mentioned, the mortgage, the rent, the credit card bills, the utility bills, outstanding medical bills, you know, the loss of income. How is your family going to continue without you, without any life insurance, you know. And I know some people may say right now, well, you know, I have insurance on my job, and that pays, you know, my family three times my salary. But there's a lot of exclusion with work life insurance policies. One of the biggest ones is when you retire or leave that job, you lose that benefit, and if you are paying for a job life insurance policy, you could be paying too much you are in what we call a Group Term insurance policy has no cash value asset, and if you are paying for it, you do have other options to get your own individual life insurance. Insurance Policy away from your job so it regardless if you decide to, you know, switch incomes retire, you still will have your coverage to continue for the rest of your life. been in the business 30 years. In November, I'm so proud to say that over and over again. I can't believe how quickly have time passed. My Location is on the corner of Sahara Rancho in the US bank center located on the eighth floor. I work Monday through Friday, from 10am to 5pm it, you know, and I do a lot. I can write a policy over the telephone. I write a lot of insurance policies over phone. Because, you know, sometimes people like, hey, if we could do this over the phone, great. Now car insurance, we I don't have to meet you for car insurance. I really don't. I mean, I don't mind meeting you at my office, but we could take your car insurance policy in about 20 minutes over the phone. So I mean, if you want to drive and come see me at my office located on the corner of Sahara Rancho in the US bank center eighth floor, we can just make it convenient for both of us, and I can write the policy right over the phone. Now, what I will need for auto insurance policy is your driver's license numbers for all the drivers in the household, vehicle identification numbers, you know, and, of course, your address, date of birth, you know, just the normal questions to get you. You know, a competitive auto insurance policy homeowners, we could do right over the phone. I can pull your address information. You know somewhat the square footage. I can't pull everything. I can't pull your current policy to compare coverages, but you should know all your insurance coverages, whether it's auto insurance, homeowners insurance, and yes, life insurance. Know what you are protected for, and if you don't quite know what your protection is on your insurance policies that you're paying month to month. Now it's time for an insurance review. I offer it absolutely no obligation for you to come in to see me and let's talk about your insurance coverages. We can go over your policies line by line to get an insurance update. Now some of you have purchased life insurance policy by way of the internet and mail. I don't recommend that, because they offer probably the worst policies out there by way of internet and mail. And the reason why I say that, I shouldn't call them the worst policies, there is some protection there, but it's not longevity. And you may have a term policy thinking, Well, you don't have a term policy. It says the age 9594 Yeah, but your term is exactly what it says. The maximum you're gonna get on a term policy is 30 years. And now, if you 58 and under a non smoker in pretty decent health, you can get 30 years. Now if you are young, 58 you can get 30 years, but let's say you're closer to 60 than you are. And while you're 58 and you're closer to 60, that could be cut down to only 20 years. Yes, so your policy again may say to age 95 your life insurance policy may say to age 95 but after your term is over, whether it's 1020, or 30 year term policy and you, let's say you're still okay. Let's for an example. Let's break it down. You're 55 years young, right? You buy a 30 year term policy because you're now smoking pretty decent now, at age 85 your policy is over. Now you go on what we call the extended term of the policy, and let's say your policy was very affordable at that rate for a solid 30 years because it didn't. It did not adjust. Some of these term policies will adjust every five years, whether you realize that or not. They'll just on you there for five years. And if your policy, your term policy, or any life insurance policy, the rate has gone up over time. You know, we need to have a conversation just to get you in a policy that's fixed with a fixed rate. However, after 30 years, you're 55 now you're 85 you go on what we call the extended term of the life insurance policy. That means your policy goes from unaffordable rate right to unaffordable unaffordable rate doesn't matter you now you're 86 now your term policy has gone up at least 10 times or even more, which you are currently paying. That's what it does, because now you are in the extended term of your life insurance policy now and it gets very expensive. Most people can't afford to keep the policies, because every year on the policies anniversary, it goes up. Now, I'm not trying to frighten you not to buy life insurance, but there are options with term policies. They can be converted over to a universal life insurance policy. Uh, and most cases before age 70, in most cases, sometimes after age 70, your policy can be converted over to a universal life insurance policy that will insure you to age 100 or age 121 keep in mind, you know, you too, need an insurance agent to go over this, and that's why I said earlier. You know, when you purchase a policy by way of internet or by way of mail, you may not get a policy that's in your longevity best interest. My name is Don Marquez. My contact phone number again, is 702-236-2624, 702-236-2624, 2236, 2624, let's take this step by step. It's not like, you know, going to the store buy apples and oranges. You know, life insurance rates are based on your health, your age, your lifestyle, and, of course, the medications you're taking. And you know, I find policies. I find policies that will fit in your budget, something that it is affordable. And every time I I sell a life insurance policy, the client, first thing they say, oh, you know, I should have did this a while back. But, you know, the younger you are, the more insurance you can get. You know, if you're listening to this program, if you have loved ones in their young 30s and you just got married, you know, they have a mortgage, they have rent, young children, and they have on a job, with a job, life insurance policy, and it pays three times their salary, you know, and they only making 100 they only make $50,000 a year or less. That's not going to take that's not going to take you very far if there's a premature passing, if there's a premature passing, how long will $150,000 take you with three young children, and if you are the one that could be responsible taking care of these three young children, how long will $150,000 last? Let's break it down. Okay, a funeral. That's $15,000 now we're down to 135 on a three year job policy. And I'm just using this as an example, we're down to 135,000 right? Because it paid 150,000 because it's three times, three times the salary at a $50,000 annual salary. Now there's a car payment, you know, loan. Now you want to pay that off. Get rid of that. That's $25,000 right? Now we're down to 115,000 right? So with the funeral, the car, credit cards, $15,000 debt, credit card debt, you gotta pay off now you have $100,000 that's $33,000 per child. And we're talking about young children under the age of 10 years young. How long will that last? Just think about it. Yeah, $33,000 per child. You know how long that lasts? Not very long. Not very statistic tells us when you have $100,000 death benefit and you have at least two or three young children, the expectation that that policy is less than three years the longevity of it. So it's not a policy that's going to carry your young family for very long. I encourage people that like in their you know, late 20s, early 30s, mid 30s, even up to the age 40, get you a million dollar life insurance policy. You'll be surprised at the low cost of a million dollar life insurance policy instead of getting a policy three times your salary, why not get a policy that's worth a million dollars, and what you pay for that is probably what you're paying for your job, policy that's only paying you three times your salary. Let me walk you through the process. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection, 7022. 36, 226. 24 702-236-2624 you do have options. When you're paying for a job life insurance policy, you're not getting the best deal. The only difference is you don't you know what a job policy is. You're on a group policy, and they want to keep the group young. And this is why, when you retire from those job group life insurance policies, the group don't want you anymore, you're out. So if you just recently retired and you find yourself without insurance or just a minimal insurance coverages, let's have a conversation. The sooner, the better. I can write a life insurance policy from day one up to 85, years young, I'm a licensed insurance agent that can offer you multiple opportunities to get policies from multiple companies. And when I say multiple opportunities, because we have auto, home life insurance and with my life insurance product, I represent multiple life insurance companies, and you may want term you may want universal life. You may want a whole life policy. That's why I say you have multiple opportunities with different companies. Let's find a policy that will fit in your budget. And if you have a young child that's out there on drugs or just in the streets, and you want and you. Are responsible for their final expenses. Let's have a conversation. I can cover those young people out there or older people out there on drugs, because you may be the one to get the phone call and say, You know what,
Donald Marquez 25:13
your loved one, we found your loved one, and we you know you need to come pick them up, or you need to make arrangements to have them picked up because they're long no longer with you, and you know you as you know as a parent or as a loved one. This happens in today's society. A lot of homeless people out there, you know that need a medical attention that don't get it. A lot of mental illness out there that you know that that you could be responsible for, for their final expenses. Let's, let's take advantage of what you hear on this, on this show, I'm the only one that's doing this. I as a licensed insurance agent. You know, other agents talk to me and they say, man, you know, you really doing a good job. And believe it or not, they benefit from me going on the air. They're like, You know what? Keep doing, what you're doing. Because people hear you on the radio, and they call me and say, hey, you know, do you know the guy on the radio at K, U, M, V, 91.5 jazz and more? And they're like, yeah, yeah, that's Don Marquez, yeah. You know, I need to go over my life insurance. I need to go over my auto insurance, because he said, that's the thing to do. But I also offer auto home life, you know, I'm a licensed agent. Can offer you these policies, but there are licensed insurance agents out there that that benefit because, you know, as you as a customer, go run to them and and get their policies reviewed, or just, hey, you know, have questions. You know you do have questions. I can offer you answers for your questions. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 I just recently signed up with a company. We have a quit smoking Advantage program for the first three years if you you purchase policy up to $40,000 a whole life policy that builds cash value. You can get a policy of $40,000 as a non smoker rate for the first 36 months. Now, basically what that does is give you the first 24 months as a smoker if you choose to smoke, but the last 12 months you have to be tobacco free. All tobacco products free, even, you know, the chewing gum, anything with nicotine in it, e cigarettes, vape, you know, all that has a tobacco in it, even the hookah has tobacco in it, no cigarettes for 12 months now, you the earlier, the better. But just keep in mind, you you're being rated as a smoker. For the first three years, up to $40,000 in coverage as a non smoker. Rate. Let's take advantage of this program. 702-236-2624, and the reason why I mentioned that right here, k, U, N, V, 91.5, jazz or more are rarely get smokers calling me. And I know, as a smoker, you like, Oh, I'm gonna pay too much. But look how much you're paying for cigarettes. Come on, I really eight to $10 a pack of cigarettes. And if you smoke 10 packs a month, you know, at $10 a pack average, that's, you know, that's a lot of money for cigarettes. You know, you can even reduce your intake on cigarettes. And you know, your body would love it. You'll feel a lot better. And then, you know, getting a life insurance policy instead of smoking, you know, 2010, packs a month. And you know, that's not hard to do, three packs a week. That's not hard to do these days. You know, two packs a week, two and a half packs a week, and then you had 10 packs a month, that's very expensive. Cigarettes is horrible for your body. It does bad things. It cuts your life, it shortens your life, and you have all kind of, you know, problems smoking cigarettes and the longevity. We have a program, you know, the quit smoking program, for the first 36 months, you're rated as a non smoker. Let's take advantage of this program. Again. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection, 7022. 3626 223-626-2470, 22362624, located on the corner Sahara Rancho and the US bank center eighth floor are work by appointment.
