You Good morning. This is your insurance connection. I'm your host. Donald Marquez, on your insurance connection, we talk about saving money on auto insurance, homeowners insurance, yes, and we talk about life insurance. Welcome to the show you. Good

morning. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. Broadcasting right here at K, U N, V, 91.5, jazz and more every Sunday morning from 8am to 830 Welcome to the show, y'all. I'm Don Marquez, licensed insurance broker right here in Las Vegas and California and the other 48 states as well. But I practice mostly in California, Nevada, and I love what I do. I love to meet you to talk about your insurance concerns. I've been doing this now for almost 30 years. 30 years, what's where does the time go? I can't tell you, it just went by one second at a time. Yeah, one second at a time. But we're here now, 30 years later, and I love what I do. I do as an insurance professional, talking to people with their insurance concerns, home, auto, life insurance, boat, motorcycle insurance, all of it, all of it. Now I don't write commercial insurance. I used to as an insurance professional, but I just found in my tenure career, at this point in my life, I just want to, you know, be able to help people you know, the individuals that's concerned about their car insurance, individuals that are concerned about securing their family with life insurance. The commercial is fine, but there are other agents out there will write a commercial policy. I just decide not to do do that anymore, just trying to keep the labor down. It is labor intense to write a commercial policy, but I put and I put all effort and all policies that I write, I take my time. I listen. Say, this is the difference. I listen. I don't, I don't take orders. I'm not an order taker. Oh, well, you know, I want this policy, and I'm looking for that. And you know, know it without giving any advice, when you call in these customer service 800 numbers for insurance, or you go online to purchase insurance, regardless of the product. There's no advisor. It's just an order taker. I call them order takers, because what you're doing, you go online, you put all your information online, you get an abundance of phone calls. You get a lot of these, lots of calls, and it turns you off. It would turn me off, because what you did, you did, you just put all your personal information out there on the internet, and people are contacting you. Now that's what you want it. I don't, I don't understand what people put all their personalized information online, and now all of a sudden, you receive all these phone calls from from who knows where, all over the world, probably people, you know, they're gonna call you because you want to, you want to quote, and they're just doing what you ask. So don't get upset. I have people calling me. So, you know, I went online and I heard you talking about, don't do that because, because you receive a lot of phone calls three months later, you know, people will see we're still receiving phone calls three months later, after he purchased a policy from me. But again, I don't, I don't share your information the company that I select, regardless of the product, home, auto, life, boat, motorcycle insurance, that's the only company that will contact you. More than likely, it's going to be me that give you a call to say, we need this information, that information and we move forward like this, is the importance of having a personal relationship with your insurance agent. Insurance agents as as professional as we are, you know, we have to take time with our customers, because we're paid based on our customer relationships with our customers. We work for you. We do and we're in a unique position. In the fiduciary position, we represent both parties, the insurance company, and also the customer. Rely on your agent for information. I can't say this enough. When you're in a car accident, contact your insurance agent. Contact your insurance agent, contact your insurance company. Now there's a twist to that. Let me let me say that. Let me back up a little bit. If you're in a car accident and it's not your fault, then you should contact the person's insurance company. If. That hit you? Yeah, yeah. Because if you contact your company, they're gonna, they're gonna process the claim, and you may pay your deductible. In most cases, you will. And when you go, when you pay your deductible through auto accident, that money goes right into the hands of the body shop. The insurance company doesn't see that money. If you are in a car accident, just take a cab settlement, and if there's not enough money to get your car repaired, then you let the insurance company know. I would advise you to get at least a couple of estimates, two estimates, two or three. Three is better, but at least two estimates for your damages on your vehicle, then you contact your insurance company or the person's insurance company that hit you. In that case, if you're not at fault, then you have a guideline to go by. Now, if your car is totaled out, I suggest you go online find a car late, make, model, same mileage, similar mile, close to similar mileage, you know, the same make, same model, same year, of your vehicle with similar mileage, with same equipment. You know, just find that. And if the insurance company is not willing to give you what you think you deserve for your vehicle, then present to the insurance company claims, department, okay, here is what these vehicles are hosting. Now, I cannot buy a car wholesale. I hope this is news you could use. My name is Don Marquez. My contact phone number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 let me give you a prime example. I had a 1997 GMC Yukon. I wanted that truck for years, and I finally bought one. Unfortunately, it was stolen. It was a collector's item. It was a collector vehicle, and it was someone took it, who knows where it is today, but it was very nice. Just replaced the engine in it, but it had all the bells and whistles. You know, back in 1997 when I was looking at this, when I was looking at the truck brand new, it was a choice, either me going to the insurance business or buy this very expensive SUV. So I talked at the time. I talked to my wife about it. She said, Well, you know, you can either get the SUV or you can go into the insurance business. What are you gonna do? Well, I chose the insurance business. I said, I always can get that other I can get that truck later, at a later time, which I did. And I kept it for about five years or so, and and someone saw it and took it. But my point is to this whole conversation is when the insurance company wanted to settle with me on the value of my Yukon, 1997 Yukon, they wanted to give me well below what I paid for it. I went, when I went online, I pulled some comparable, same ear, make, model, similar mileage, you know, same equipment, and I presented them the difference, and they said, Oh, okay, no problem. So they gave me what I what I felt was fair. I did because it initially, it was only a third of what they wanted to give me when I received initially, it is only 1/3 and what we settled on 1/3 that's the difference. You go online, you pull the make model years and the mileage of the car or the vehicle, right, and you present that to the claim representative. So they have a guideline to go by. You cannot buy a vehicle wholesale. You can't now, if you have older vehicles, and they have collision and comprehensive on them, now that could be a little twist to that too as well, because, as you well know, the classic cars today are worth a lot of money. They just are, you know, these, are a 1970 Chevelle. Now, back back in 1970 was only, what, less than 4040 $500 maybe that was top dollar. But they went in anywhere from 2500 to 4500 Today, that same Chevelle is over $100,000 you know, it could be anywhere from 60 to $100,000 or even more. I've seen them go as high as over $200,000 it's unbelievable what they're getting for these old cars. Well, I should say the classic vehicles today. Now if you have a classic car, you want to make sure you have the greed value on your classic vehicle, agreed value, and now you agree into the value of the vehicle, and it's always good to keep your receipts when you're building your your classic car. Keep your receipts. But what a lot of you, I find that don't quite understand how this works, because you put liability only on this very expensive classic car. Now, once the car is damaged or stolen. And you know it's, first of all, they cannot, then probably try to repair it, but they probably won't. There's probably want to sell it with you and say, hey, you know what? Here's the money. Go get it fixed or whatever, get it repaired.

We can't. We can't do anything with it. They probably won't told it out, unless they have to, if it's stolen and you don't have an agreed value on the vehicle, or stated value on the vehicle, you just put liability on on it only then you're 100% liable. You won't get reimbursed any any money for your classic car. Keep this in mind. And the reason why I bring this up because I do have, from time to time, people contact me with their classic cars. The season is here. People take their nice classic cars out for a ride, and, you know, I call them garage queens, put them back in the garage until the next season, when the weather is really nice, you know, and when the weather is nice, people just bring out their classic cars, like they're doing now with their motorcycles and their recreational vehicles, boats as boating season. Now, you know they have fun with them, but you want to make sure you're properly insured when you're on the lake. Just Just keep in mind when you pull over to help someone, no matter if you know late on the lake or you driving a car, you could be liable for just helping someone. Yeah, it's happened. Yeah, it's happened. Just helping people, just simply helping people, they can hold you liable just being a good Samaritan. So keep that in mind. I'm not saying not to help someone in need, but you know, you take on liability when you you know, extend your helping hand as a, you know, good citizen, to help an individual in need of help, and now they come back and sue your insurance company because you've helped them. I've seen that happen in the insurance industry. It's sad, because you're just trying to be a good Samaritan. Hey, this person needed some help, or maybe they were stranded, and I'm just giving them a hand and whatever reason, if they're, you know, feel like they've been injured or whatever. I don't know, people just sue anybody for every anything. Today, I've seen it happen in my 29 years in the business. People just help the individual and, you know, and they got sued for $100,000 is it happens. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. This is why we have insurance, to protect ourselves. If you have Medicare, you know you need to stay on top of what's going on with them, with the laws and the changes getting ready to come down with Medicare. I don't sell health insurance. Let's get that clear, but I do keep on top of what's going on in the insurance industry, regardless of the product. I don't offer health insurance. I offer auto, home, boat, motorcycle, yes, and life insurance, but just just stay on top of what's going on with Medicare, because you may have a loved one that's on Medicare, that may lose their benefits or get their benefits reduced. So just make sure you stay on top of it and don't get surprised when you go to the doctor and they may say, hey, we don't we accept your insurance anymore because the laws have changed. My name is Don Marquez, 702-236-2624, 702-236-2624, Milo, location is on the corner Sahara Rancho in the US bank center, eighth floor. I work Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm and on Saturdays, the building now is closed. Unfortunately, I only work by way of via phone. On some Saturdays, you can contact me at 702-236-2624, or you could text me at the same number. My email address is donald.marquez@outlook.com Again, my address is on the corner Sahara Rancho in the US bank center located on the eighth floor, work by appointment, Monday through Friday, at 10am to 5pm 702-236-2624, life insurance if you have underlying health conditions, which a lot of you do, but diabetes, lupus, history of cancer, heart you know, heart disease, COPD, you know, and you just cannot get any insurance to not give up. I do have companies that I work with that can get you insured on a whole life product, a filing expense, whole life insurance policy. It'll be a monthly draft taken directly out of your checking account. Out of your checking account, I don't want, I don't need, debit cards or not acceptable. Credit cards are not acceptable, but directly out of your checking account. You can select the due date between the first and the 28th of each month, and if you have a child that's 17 years or younger, whether they're your child or your grand. Child, or you're responsible for children. We can also add the child rider option on your life insurance policy. The child will be insured, and when they turn 25 years young, they will spin off on their own life insurance policy. What a great deal that is, and it's extremely, extremely, extremely affordable. Now the child is not going to be examined. You're not going to be examined these policies or or with no medical, no medical, just a few health questions, and they're yes or no answers. And most people do qualify, even with health issues. We can get you qualified no health examination to apply, just a few of questions. And most people qualify for coverage, even with health issues. Rates and benefits. Let me say this again, rates and benefits are locked in for the life of the policy. Can't go wrong there. You can't go wrong if you have an accidental only life insurance policy. It only covers for accidents. I cannot stress that enough stop buying accidental only life insurance policies. I talked to a lady a couple of weeks ago. She had five accidental only life insurance policies. I took her out all of that, accidental only travel, accidental accident. And I said, Do you travel? Do you No, I don't have a passport. Why? Well, you know, I just needed something. I just wanted to get something, and it came in the mail, and it was very affordable. I live on a budget. I said, But you know, if you pass a natural causes, you know, these policies don't pay out. She said, Really, I was just trying to make sure my family's not gonna go into debt when that day comes for me, and it comes for all of us. Each and every one of us have a bill that's waiting on us. If you don't have life insurance, someone has to pay for your final expenses. And don't say you don't care. You should care. When you say you don't care, that means you want to pass this very expensive bill, funeral bill, onto one of your loved ones, to your spouse, to your children, when you're not being responsible, and say you don't care. You should care, because what you're doing, you're gonna put them in financial debt. And don't say, I don't care what happened to my body. You can give my body to the science, but you know what? They don't want your body. Science, do not want your body. They have enough through the homeless. They have plenty cadavers with the homeless population, so they don't need an extra one. They don't need yours. But we do have a filing expense, and it's waiting, waiting for each and every one of us and who's going to pay for it with a life insurance policy. Is instant savings account. You could chip away every way. You can chip away at it every single month just by way of a small insurance payment. I can make it happen. I can make it also affordable for you to put in your budget. It won't interfere with your I you know, if I've talked to people that was getting ready to cancel their life insurance policy instead and still had all the premium channels. I said, Do you have HBO? Yes. Do you have Showtime? Yes. Do you have all these Netflix Do you have you have all Amazon? You have all these other Yeah, yeah, I do. But did you cancel those? Any, any of those prescriptions? No. Why do you ask? I said, because it's about priorities. It is. It's about priorities. You have all these channels, but you're willing to cancel your affordable life insurance policy, but you have all these TV channels. What's more important all these TV channels is you probably don't watch most of the time. People only watch about four or five channels. That's it. That's it. Four or five channels and then, but you have all these premium challenges. You're paying a lot of money for this prescription, right? Then I said, Well, you know what? I didn't think about it like that. I didn't think about it like that. So don't let your life insurance policy be the first thing you want to counsel. Find other things. You know, maybe you shouldn't go to the casino so much. Maybe, if you, instead of going out and drink, having a drink, take that, you know, go buy your bottle and take it home and enjoy yourself at home. Yeah, and then having a drink at home, you don't have to worry about getting in your car and driving back home. You don't want to get a DUI, because that's very expensive lesson. We that's about $10,000 around $10,000 for a DUI and your license are suspended, and you have to put an sr 20 Oh, it's a nightmare. You go to jail and you have an sr 22 and life goes on. Your life insurance policy is an asset. It truly is. It's an affordable way to invest in your family's future for final expenses, I can make it happen again. I can you can select a due date between the first and the 28th of each month, a direct monthly draft directly out of your checking account. You can pay that annually, semi annually, or even quarterly, coming out. Out of your out of your account, and if you're a smoker, I'm, lately, I'm starting to get smokers to come in to talk to me.

Now, if you go to the hookah lounges, I have to say this, you're smoking tobacco. I've had customers come to me and say, you know, I I, you know, I only go every now and then, when I go to the hookah lounges, or I'll go out and have a drink, I'll get a hoop, I'll get a hookah pipe, and I'll smoke a smoke hookah. That's tobacco. And then, and if you are going to be tested for life insurance, it could come back as you being a tobacco user. Now, somehow, a very mild form of tobacco, but it is going to be in your system, and that's here that you're using tobacco. If you have HIV or AIDS, you know, don't worry about it. I do have companies that can help you. If you're 40 years young, between 40 and 80, I can get you a life insurance policy if you have HIV or AIDS, people are living longer with the HIV, AIDS virus. So I do have policies that can help you, you know, give up with diet, if you have type one, type two diabetes, if you don't met foreman, or if you have COPD Alzheimer's dementia. I have policies for these underlying health conditions where many of you, you know, even think that I can't get insurance because I have underlying health condition, multiple sclerosis. I have multiple sclerosis and I can't get life insurance. So, you know, don't think you can't. Let me find a policy for you. This is what I do. I find the policies. I have multiple companies that I work with, you know, and brand name companies, Pacific Life Prudential, Mutual of Omaha, Lincoln, heritage Life Insurance Company, Americo. I just got a sign with Americo, great company. And then if you a smoker with Americo, which I really do, like we have rates with Americo on a whole life product, they will give you the non smokers rate for the first three years. For the first three years, they'll offer you the non smokers rate, and they'll give you up to three years to stop smoking, right? They'll give you up to three years, or even up to four years, to stop smoking. Now, if you do, if you still continue to smoke, then your policy is going to adjust slightly to the smokers rate, but they give you a non smokers option for the first three to four years. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. My contact phone number is 7022362624702, 624, 702-236-2624, my location is right on the corner Sahara Rancho in the US Bank Center, located on the eighth floor. My business hours are Monday through Friday, from 10am to 5pm I'm gonna I'm an insurance broker. I love what I do. I love to meet you. I Come on this. Come on the air, right here. K, U, N, V, 91.5, jazz and more. To educate you about your insurances, I don't charge a fee to come see me. Let me get that straight, because I've been asked that before. I don't charge a fee to come see me if you bring your policies in to do a full review of your current life insurance, auto insurance, homeowners policies. I don't charge a fee to do a full review. No obligation. Fee, no obligation. If you do have life insurance, and you know if you have reduced other things in your life, because you know the cost of living is getting a little expensive, and you do have a life insurance policy, you do have an option not to cancel your policy. But maybe we can reduce the face amount of your policy. We can reduce the face amount of your policies. Tell it for an example, if you have a $300,000 life insurance policy, maybe you can get that reduced down to 150,000 half, and sit look what the rate may be at half. Maybe you don't need as much as insurance, as much insurance. Now, and that's another thing too. If you don't need as much insurance, you can always, always reduce down the face amount of the policy to save you money. That is a way don't cancel your policy unless it's absolutely necessary. Now, if you have a loved one that you know maybe has Alzheimer's dementia, or maybe you have a parent that's getting a little older, and every you get a little frustrated, because every time you call the life insurance company that you have to get your parents permission, or your loved ones permission to speak in their behalf. Now, what we can do is get a transfer ownership now, and a lot of people want to get this transfer ownership because they find themselves as a primary beneficiary, and also the pay of the policy as a beneficiary and a pay of the policy does not give you access to the life insurance policy unless you have permission from the insured individual or the owner of the policy to talk in their behalf. What you can do is do a transfer of ownership. Now this occurs at. Especially when the primary beneficiary and the payer are the same person and they have a financial connection with the individual, you could do a transfer ownership that allows you to pick up the phone call the life insurance company and make any necessary changes. Maybe you need to change address bank account, and this is extremely helpful. When you have a loved one, maybe going into a nursing home, you want to transfer ownership of that life insurance policy before that loved one goes into the to the nursing home, transfer of a beneficiary, change a beneficiary. If you have a life insurance policy and your beneficiary have passed, or you've been divorced, you want to do a beneficiary change form, if that suits your scenario where you've you're now you divorced, you don't want your spouse to be a beneficiary your life insurance policy. Contact your life insurance policy and get a beneficiary change form to change the primary beneficiary or the primary beneficiaries. Or if your your primary beneficiary has deceased and you don't have a contingent beneficiary. Now contingent beneficiary do not fill a policy beneficiary section out 50% primary beneficiary and 50% contingent beneficiary. That is absolutely the incorrect way to fill out the beneficiary form. Now the primary beneficiary, or the primary beneficiaries, should equal up to 100% in other words, you can have someone 6040, 5050, it just depends on how you want to set it up with your primary beneficiaries. Now, the contingent beneficiary is in a holding position, just in case your primary passes before you do the contingent beneficiary. Or contingent beneficiaries move up in position when the primary beneficiary passes before the insured individual. If you have a policy that has a loan value to it, an accumulated cash value, you can borrow money from your life insurance policy, or if you just can't make the payments on your life insurance policy, and you do have an asset as a way of a cash value, you can allow your cash value to make those payments until maybe you may be out of work. Let your insurance company know what your intentions are. They are there to work with you. Just keep in mind, term insurance does not have any cash value at all. Keep that in mind, cash value only comes when it's a whole life, Universal Life, IUL, those type of life insurance policies, annuities, and, you know, and but term does not have a cash asset. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 if you need to read now, if your policy has lapsed, there's a possibility you can reinstate your policy or without going through the physical going without going through all the health questions they can re date or reinstate your policy. Let me work with you. I don't charge a fee to help you out. Step by step. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. We'll do this again next week, from 8am to 830 go out and take a walk, enjoy this beautiful weather that we're having right here in Vegas.
