Good morning. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. I'm your host. I'm a licensed insurance professional right here in Las Vegas, Nevada and all the surrounding communities. Welcome. Welcome my broadcast right here at KU N v 91.5 jazz and more every Sunday morning, from 8am to 830 educating you on insurance. Yes, keep it like right here, because it's valuable information about insurance, life insurance, homeowners, auto insurance, and we all concerned about our auto insurance rates here in Southern Nevada, you know, just I get calls all the time for about the auto insurance. I don't want to tell you, write your county commissioner and, you know, also send a letter to the Division of Insurance. I'm pretty sure they get plenty, plenty letters wondering why our auto insurance rates are so expensive right here in Southern Nevada. I have the answer to that. I think I do. It's just, you know, we need to stop filing so many claims. I know you buy insurance and something happens. You want to, you want to file a claim, but you have to be careful at this. Stop texting and driving. That's another way for our insurance rates to go up. Slow down. That's another reason why rates go up. And you know, it just if you have people that's on your policy that has accidents or tickets that could cause your auto insurance rates to go up, there's many different reasons and young drivers. You know, when I grew up here in Vegas, I was born and raised here in Vegas, and we well, you know, my my dad would give us an old, raggedy car, and we would be so proud because, you know, there's one of his hand me downs. I had, we had a we had a 1960 Thunderbird with one bucket seat in it, but my brother and I, we was happy to have that. I don't know what happened to the other passenger bucket seat, but we had a back seat. He was sitting the back seat. We get a milk carton and put in the front seat, but we had a car, and it drove, and we had transportation, and the insurance to put us on the policy at the time was a little of nothing, because we were, you know, we were very young. We were 16 driving. I got my driver's license when I was 16 years old. That day I turned 16 because I was so excited to drive, but my parents weren't really concerned about the rate of insurance, what it'll cost to add a 16 year old child on their auto insurance policy. Wasn't, you know, it wasn't really a conversation. They just did it. But today, it's another story. Today is another story. It's a conversation you need to have that thoroughly. Think about adding that young driver on your auto insurance policy. I know graduation comes around and holidays come around, and you want to get your your your your gifted child at good grades, great grades. And, you know, straight A student and just a good, you know, just a good kid, and you want to reward them with a car at 18 years young, but you should check the insurance first. This is one of the reasons why your insurance rates are increased, putting young drivers on the vehicle, you know, and if they even don't have a car or no, because that's what you're thinking. Well, they don't have a car. I know I've been doing this for 30 years, if they if, but if you have them on a policy anyway, and they don't have a car, they have access to all your cars. Now, you cannot exclude them so well. You know, they don't drive my Mercedes, s5 50, or they don't drive dad's, you know, Ford, Bronco or, or dad's, you know, Corvette in the garage, or, or the Escalade, or any of these high performance vehicles. They, they, they're, you know, we need to exclude them because they never drive my car. But that's not the case when you add your young driver on the vehicle, on the on the car policy there, they have access to all the vehicles. They're covered on all the vehicles. Now you can try to exclude them. That really doesn't save you any money. What I recommend you do is is just wait until they're a little older, a little bit more responsible behind the wheel, because the rates when you put an 18 year old you. On your, on your drive and on your on your auto insurance policy. They don't have a driving history. They have really no experience driving. And you know the insurance companies, the auto insurance companies, really rate them high rate them because they don't have any experience behind the wheel, of very little experience behind the wheel and and of course, your rates will go up according to the vehicles that you have. Now, if you have high performance cars, you have a you know, or even a family car. It really doesn't matter, you know. And I read The reason why I bring this up, because I've had clients contact me as well. You know, yes, my young driver has a driver's license in the household, but they don't drive my cars. Well, why do they have a driver's license? Now they should have an ID card, not a driver's license. I I recommend maybe 2225 before they get a driver's license. And I'm only saying that because of the rates I see. And some people say, Well, you know, they driving. I need to put them on my on my insurance. I understand that, because, you know, everyone is different, everyone is totally different. But you know what today's rates? Before you add that young driver on your auto insurance policies, find out what the rate will be first. You can get a quote, because I just need a quote. You know, I just need a quote to find out what it'll cost to add this young driver on my policy. Now you don't have to accept it right away. Now you could do a fictitious quote. You know, if they do have a driver's license, they will automatically be added on your auto insurance policy when your policy renews every six months or once a year, the auto insurance company do what we call a household review. They review the licensed drivers in the household, and what they do is add these licensed drivers on your policy. I know it's happened and people because I have received calls, well, why did they add me on the policy? Because you're a driver, you have a driver's license at this address, or if you can approve that, you have other insurance other than you know, the family members that you know live in the house, own the house, and if you happen just to live there with your own auto insurance policy, we can easily, you know, separate, you know, the individuals and from the policies. That's easy, but if you have a young driver or even a relative that has moved in that's using your address, and this happens with grandparents a lot, and parents at times too, but more more so grandparents, I see this happening. Their grandchild have a driver's license, only 18 years young, and they're added on to the grandparents policy, not the companies I represent. This is just general information. What happens when a young person gets a driver's license, versus maybe getting an ID card? Get an ID card for them, if they're not driving, turn in the driver's license and have them get an ID card. They have a driver's license for a reason, because they're driving, and if they don't have a driver's license, and they get stopped and cited, they could be automatically added onto your policy, even without a driver's license. This is news you could use. Let's, let's work on our rates, because it starts with us, you know. And I've had people call me, you know, they go out and buy this high performance charger, you know, and they're like, wow, you know, I got a Magnum. I got all the power and 500 horsepower. And when they call about the insurance is just, you know, Oh, wow. Well, you bought a race car. You bought a legal race car, and you're only, you know, mid 30s, but you bought this legal race car, you know. And here's the rates. And I'm not trying to scare anyone off. Well, we have to be a little reasonable, you know, in our purchases if, no matter what, I mean, listen, get what you want. I mean, that's why you work. You go to work every day to get the things in life that you want. But you know, you have to be cautious a little bit. Get an insurance quote first before you make that final purchase. I could be reached at 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 22362624, my location, Sahara Rancho in the US bank center, eighth floor. I work by appointment, Monday through Friday. My business hours at 10am to 5pm Monday through Friday, 702-236-2624, my name is Dave Marquez, this is your insurance connection. I name my business your insurance connection because I like to connect with people and talk to people about their concerns, about their insurance policies. And I've been very successful for over 30 years. Well, 330 years. Excuse me. Be 30 years in November, actually, and and learn a lot of information about the insurance industry. And I'm learning as I go, you know, there's no insurance agent that every once in a while, we found out something brand new.

I mean, we have to go to school. We do if you're looking for a career to get into. And you don't need a college degree, but some companies do require you to to have a college degree to be an insurance professional. But what you can do is just, you know, take the exam over the over the computer. I had to go to class when I went to 30 years ago. I had to be in the classroom every day. But today we have the wonderful intervention called the computer by and it's set up by way of the internet, where you can take classes right on the internet to be a licensed insurance agent. It's a wonderful business. I love what I do. I absolutely love what I do. I get to talk to people like yourself that's listening to this program at KU N v 91.5, jazz or more about their insurance concerns, are offered no obligation reviews. To review all your insurance policies. It doesn't cost you anything. What you need to do is is bring in your information. I cannot pull it up online. You know, because of privacy laws, just cannot pull it up. That's why I encourage people to bring in their insurance policy so I can review the coverages that you have. Yes, I'm gonna look at the price, because everyone, everyone I always talk to about auto insurance, is always concerned about the price, but it tells me what coverages you're currently carrying on your policies, What? What? What are your limits of liability on your auto insurance policy? Do you have the minimum state requirement? Do you have over and above the minimum? Because this is where you get receive the discounts if you have over and above the minimum state requirements, this is how you receive discounts on your auto insurance policy by carrying the minimums. And then you call a company, I'm say, I have the minimums, you know, for my liability coverage, and they don't. They could care less about your collision and comprehensive coverages is, you know, the insurance companies, auto insurance companies, look at your responsibility for carrying low auto insurance, uh, coverages and they you're not going to be in a favorable position to negotiate with the insurance companies to get a, you know, a quote that's probably less than you're paying. Now, this is News You Can Use. My name is Don Marquez, 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. 702-236-2624, the weather is cooling down in Vegas. Thank you so much. Hey, before I got it, I have to give a shout out to Asia Wilson. Asia Wilson w, w, n, b, a, she won her fourth M, M, V p award. You know, Asia Wilson, if you haven't watched the ACES play, they're going through the tournament right now. But you know, she has won the fourth year of being MVP. So she has four Most Valuable Player titles awarded that distinguished honor, and we have her here in Las Vegas, Nevada. So, you know, congratulations, Asia Wilson, continue to the good work that you're doing. She made some you know, pass Bill Russell. Bill Russell has five MVP Most Valuable Player awards, and Kareem. She tied with Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and he has four MVPs now she get another MVP when the next year or two, who knows? And she may tie Bill Russell or even surpass Bill Russell again. Congratulations Asia Wilson, and congratulations to the ACES organization for recruiting an amazing basketball player, we can witness her, her greatness. The ladies tournaments are going on right now. And, you know, I think it's, I think it's doing a football season, not real fast to the ladies, because they have football going on right now as well. You know, we well into the football season. But my name is Don Marquez. Again. This is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624, let's switch gears a little bit. And my favorite subject, as you well know, is life insurance of Eve. And I want to thank the listeners that have contact me and purchase home auto and life insurance. I also write boat and motorcycle insurance. If you have your boat on Lake Mead, you do need insurance. Even if you own your boat, you need insurance. If you dock your boat at the lake, you have to carry the minimum coverage is 100,000 per person, 300,000 each accident. That's the minimum requirement coverage you must carry for liability purposes. So if you dock your boat at Lake Mead, meaning it's in a slip in the marina, and you have, you know, access to your boat, and you can go out to your boat and enjoy it anytime of the day, but you do have to carry the higher limits of liability. Not to make that, I don't want to make it sound like your rate is going way up because you carry higher limits, but it's good to carry those limits, because you never know what may happen, especially if you have people on the boat, and you know if they get injured, and you're out driving your boat and having a good time on the lake, and something happens and people get injured, they will come after your insurance policy for damages, allegedly that you may have caused or not caused. So keep in mind, you know, even if you're not docking your boat at the lake and you just launch it, you want to carry high limits of liability, because what happens if you have an accident? And it happens, accidents happen all the time on the water. They just do things. Do happen. People get injured, although, you know, you know, having a good time. And I know the boating season is kind of dialing down a little bit for me, I like going out to the lake when the weather is cooler. I can't do 110 degrees in the summer on the lake. I prefer going to the lake when it's a, you know, 70 degrees. And, you know, by the height of the day, you know, three or four o'clock in the afternoon is 70 degrees, so that that's a nice, comfortable day for me on the water. But just getting out there, I've been out there for both 110 degrees, and I also been out there when it's around 70, you know, the high 60s and mid 70s, that's my type of weather on the lake. But you know, keep in mind, you know, things do happen, and when they do happen on the lake, it happens quick, just like driving a car. When accidents happen, No one wakes up in the morning, so I won't have an accident regardless what vehicle you're driving, a boat, a motorcycle, a car. No one gets up and want to have an accident, but we have to be cautious. You cannot text and drive. You cannot, you know, and on a motorcycle. All you motorcyclists out there, please stop cutting in between the traffic. It's very dangerous what you're doing. You can get injured. You know, your motorcycle damage, you know, or you know you could, it could be a fatality. And I ride and I drive motorcycles. I'm motorcyclist for many years, and I enjoy getting out on the open road and and feeling, you know, just the air and just relaxing on my motorcycle. But I see my my co motorcycle colleagues that they're out there and they're wilding out on the bikes. They just want to, you know, put the bikes to the test and drive, you know, 102 100 miles an hour. I don't know how to some of these motorcycles move that fast, but they they can go 150 miles an hour. I don't see the enjoyment in that. But slow down, because this is another reason why our rates are are expensive here in Las Vegas, Nevada, Southern Nevada, especially, our rates are very expensive compared to other cities. Many people come here from other states and they Oh, you know, the car insurance is going to be a lot less here in Vegas. I don't know why they think that. I don't know what gave them the idea that the car insurance going or is going to be less here in Southern Nevada, we pay some of the highest car insurance rates in the country. I believe we're around the fifth highest for auto insurance rates in Southern Nevada. So just keep that in mind, if you just move to Vegas, you know you are required to get your car registered within the first 30 days, and if you and if you do have out of town license plates, and this happens quite often. You know, police officers will, possibly will, will stop you and ask you a series of questions to see if, in fact, you are working here you haven't registered your vehicle yet. And I get it some some people say, Well, you know, I won't do that until the registration is due. If the registration is due in some kind and once, some states, you register your car, maybe once every two years. Don't take that chance. Within the first 30 days of moving to Vegas, you have to have auto insurance in the state of Nevada. Now, if you have the farm, and you coming in Nevada, and you said, Well, I have the farm, and the farm is everywhere, right? But you don't have Nevada farm. You have to have Nevada farm. Now, you may be coming from Wisconsin farm, but when you come Nevada, you need to, you know, you need Nevada car insurance. I can help you with the matter. Car Insurance, 702-236-2624,

you know. And again, this is News You Can Use. I come on the air every Sunday morning, right here at KU env, 91.5 jazz or more, to educate you about. Your insurances, your auto insurance, your car insurance, your homeowners insurance, you know so it helps you to better understand, to get more clarity, you need to know what you're paying for when it comes to all your insurance coverages. Many of you, I've talked to you over the many years, and you have no clue you have life insurance, but you don't know what type of policy you have. I think I might have term or whole life. I don't know. I don't know what I really have. I'm insured and but I noticed my life insurance rates are starting to go up. Now, these are the customers that I talk to, and this is how they respond. And I ask this simple question, do you have whole life, universal life term? And you know, for the most part, if people have a term policy, they know it well. You know, I do have a term, and then it expires in less than 10 years. Now, if you're going to buy term, you buy the longest period you can purchase term goes up to 30 years. And after the 30 year period is over, then the policy is over, or it goes in what we call the extended term portion of the policy, and the rates go up. Now, if you're experiencing your life insurance rates going up, let's sit down and have a conversation. Let's let's have a review. 702-236-2624, my name is Don Marquez, and what happened with a review is, I just bring you updated. What's going on with your policy. You know, I give you an update and I don't, there's no obligation that I don't charge for this. For this service, you will have to bring in your policy so I can review them. I can now pull your policy up online, and then we sit down, I review your policy, tell you exactly where you are. And there have been many times when you know listeners like yourself have come in, I reviewed their life insurance policy, and I push it back to them and say, You need to keep this policy. Because what happens listeners that our health, as we age, our health has a tendency to change. And if that's happening to you, and if you have underlying health conditions and you don't have any life insurance, I don't understand when people say they want to wait. What are you waiting on? Can please somebody tell me what exactly are you waiting on? The older you get, you know that. So the policies are locked in for the life of the policies, the rates and benefits are locked in for the life of the policy. Once you receive the policy, the rates and benefits are locked in for the policy, but the rates and benefits are are based on you your age. You know, I've had people call me, what do you have to offer? Well, I need to know what medicines you're taking, what medication you're currently taking, what medications you're currently taking in any underlying health condition, and if you do have underlying health conditions, you know, diabetes, lupus, history of cancer, you I can help you with a policy, a final expense, a final expense, life insurance policies, something is better than nothing. There's no medical, there's no physical. We just ask you a few health questions. Most people qualify even with health issues, and the rates and benefits are locked in for the life of the policy. 702-236-2624, my name is Don Marquez. I'm here for you, and I love, absolutely love what I do. I can write a policy over the phone, if you don't want to come into my office. I do work, only apartment, only in my office, but a lot of business I've conducted over the phone. And I can write a policy over the phone, a home auto insurance, boat motorcycle insurance, and I can write those over the phone for you, but if you want to have a review for your life insurance, or you just want to you feel comfortable meeting me, that's fine. If you need to check me out. My name is Don Marquez, you can call up the Division of Insurance. I have no complaints in 30 years. I'm proud to say that I have no complaints as a licensed insurance agent in my hometown, Las Vegas, Nevada, no complaints in 30 years. That's saying something that is saying something. You know, I'm in a fiduciary position of trust. I trust that the information that you give me is accurate, and please trust the information that I give you is going to be accurate, too, as well. Now, when you get quotes, and a lot of people get caught up in these quotes, when you get a quote, whatever insurance product you're purchasing, quotes are quotes. Maybe that might rate. Maybe it is what the quote says. Maybe not, but we don't know, because it's a quote. Quotes mean could be maybe the rate. It doesn't mean that's going to be the rate. There's times where life insurance, when people was, you know, I got a quote, and it's only this much a month, okay. What health conditions do you have? Well, you know, I'm on blood thinners and I. Diabetes, you're not gonna get that policy, you know, cuz I'm time people call me, so I got $100,000 and I have I'm on blood thinners. Well, no, no, you're not gonna get that policy. No, because what I do is, you know, one box doesn't fit all. You know, I make sure that the is right for you. It fits in your budget. Number one, the policy has to fit in your budget. In other words, you we all live on a budget. When people are retired, they're contacting that, you know, the first thing they say, Well, you know, I'm on a budget. When you work, you're on a budget. So retirees, I'm semi retired a little bit. I work about four days a week, three to four days a week, because I, what I try to do is all my, all my, all my business. I try to compress it in the three days, if I can, and try. I've been working on my life. I've been working since I was 12, and I've been working a long time, non stop since I was two. I joined the Air Force right out of UNLV, working all my life. So, yeah, I'm taking a little bit of break, but I try to, I try to have my my my days to myself. But my work days kind of schedule them when I'm working consecutively for like, maybe four days out of the week consecutive, and in the and then the rest of the time, I like to relax. But neither, neither here they I received calls on Sunday morning, which I don't mind you calling me, or you can text me Sunday morning, and that's fine. This is a pre recorded broadcast to let you know, and I've had people call me or they text me at that number, 702-236-2624, and I would love to talk to you. I need to look at your life insurance. If you like to have a life insurance policy review, you need to bring it in. Now, if you don't have a life insurance policy, let's have a conversation. I can write a policy from day one up to 85 years young. Yes, I can, let me say that again. I can write a policy, a life insurance policy from day one up to 85, years young. Now a lot of these policies are offered no medical exam. Just need to know what medications you're on. I can write up to $450,000 in life insurance coverage without a physical. My name is Don Marquez, 70223, 627, 626, 24 is Sunday. Let's get out there and take a walk. Enjoy the fresh air. Is beautiful outside. I love this weather, and next week is gonna get even cooler than than we are right now. You know, this has been a mild summer, and I'm glad it's over. The older I get, the less I can handle the heat, but I do like the cool temperatures that you know we have now in Vegas, I hope your football team wins today, and you know, I've been doing so so on the football now I think I'm behind the eight ball on the football bets, but it's, you know, I don't bet big. I bet a little fun, fun bets with friends. I don't go to the sports book. I just, you know, I bet with a friend or so, you know, hey, we, you know, friendly bets. But anyway, I hope your team comes in today. Vegas aces, they're in the tournament, hopefully, hopefully they will win again. A congratulation Asia Wilson, for being MVP. You are MVP and the whole teams, our whole ace team, Aces team is an MVP. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624, we'll do this again next week. Until then, just keep it crispy. You. You.
