And I have guests in my studio, I have Ali and also Desmon. And they're going to inform us about home securities, home securities, how to secure your home with a home security system. And actually with a home security system, it gives you a discount on your homeowners insurance. And it also helps protect your personal assets when you're away from home or, or you could be at home in the bed and so on are true to try to come to in your home. You will be alerted we're going to get more into that in just a moment. But I just want to introduce myself reintroduce myself. My name is Donald Marquez, I'm a licensed insurance broker offering auto insurance, homeowners insurance. And yes, life insurance. 25 years in the business and counting. I started this, my license was back in 1996. And it seemed like it was only yesterday. I also want to thank the customers that came in and purchase home auto and life insurance. Thank you for your continued support. And I want to thank the staff and management. Dr. Ridley, also my engineer West, keeping the time on us. And we're gonna get right into it. Let's go. Good morning. Desmond, how are you?
Unknown Speaker 2:09
I'm doing great.
Unknown Speaker 2:10
You're doing great. Okay, well, you look nervous. That's okay. Relax, it's okay. So tell our listeners about your home security systems. And Alia, you can jump in anytime you're ready. We'll do Thank you. All right, ally, and Desmond is going to educate us on home security. So tell our listeners, Desmond and Alia, what do our listeners need to know about the home security systems that you represent?
Unknown Speaker 2:39
The big difference? A lot of people are not well educated regarding the home security. There's so many different options not just for homeowners, but for renters. You have a condo and apartment. There's a lot of different options. You're not left out. What
Unknown Speaker 2:56
Tom, tell us the options though, okay, so for instance, I'm a homeowner, I'm a homeowner, what do I need to know about the security system? Let's say there's a gas leak in my house and I'm not aware of or carbon dioxide is built up in my house? Well, your security systems alert me as a homeowner, whether I'm at home or not, if these hazards exist, yeah.
Unknown Speaker 3:21
So there is a lot of different types of equipment that you can add to your home security's where it's smoke detector that actually alerts you the fire department, to let them know that there is a fire, you can get carbon. So if there is a gas leak, it actually alerts you that there is a gas leak in your home, even if you're away from home. So a lot of the ones that are already built in the homes don't alert you or they go off when you're not home. There's nobody to let you know where with the home security, it actually alerts you and
Unknown Speaker 3:52
how does it alert you central monitoring and I think that's why you see a discount being offered with most insurance companies when you have central monitoring because but Ali was saying a smoke detector just beeps it doesn't alert a fire department so you have more risk of damage. So when you actually are alerted they keep the fire department out there faster if there's a gas leak, we can get people out there to fix that leak quicker. So it's more people involved so we can mitigate mitigate the
Unknown Speaker 4:20
damage so if I understand you correctly, the systems that you offer, the homeowners and landlords and renters the systems are being monitored. Correct. So you have a monitor there. Now your security home systems that that are out there today. Are you are you saying your your system is more advanced and these so many systems are outdated, and you have the latest and greatest equipment that's out there or are you very competitive with the product that you offer?
Unknown Speaker 4:54
Well, there's a lot of different options, the one that I got options for However, it is so smart, like the door lock the door lock children.
Unknown Speaker 5:04
Oh, you have children, so the door automatically locks itself. I've seen no commercials, you give them their own code. Okay, yeah, door locks itself.
Unknown Speaker 5:11
Yeah, there's no key. So I don't have to give him a key, I just give him a code. Each one has a different code. So it actually tells you which one of your kids unlock the door. Oh, see, if you have family from out of town, you can actually open, unlock and lock the door from your phone. If the kids forget to lock it. You can set up where it locks on its own after a certain time, or you can go in yourself and lock it.
Unknown Speaker 5:33
That's interesting. Now, are you alerted by way of your cell phone? Or do you get to receive a phone call from the security systems monitors that you know this suspicious activity? Is there cameras involved with the security systems?
Unknown Speaker 5:49
Look, yeah, so you'll get a lot of both, you get a phone call. And you can see on your phone. So for example, I actually have the system myself and I have indoor cameras, I have the doorbell camera. So if someone comes delivers a package, I'll be alerted. If someone comes in my vicinity in my home, I'm alerted as well, that there is an hazard going on in the home I'm going to be alerted and either by text or by the actual app on my phone or a phone call. So there's it definitely you you have that access directly from your phone so you can feel the nice thing is that the protection I always feel when I'm away from my home I'm protected because that's when most incidents occur when we're not at home. Most people are very unaware but the most burglaries that happen here in Nevada are between the ages of 30 people between the ages of 30 and 39 because they're away from home working and so that's when most Okay,
Unknown Speaker 6:42
so between 30 and 39 is the burglar or the homeowner the homeowner got a little confused on that one I don't know if the burglar was between 30 and 39 That was like 45 or 50 I don't have to worry about a burglar at that age right I just so the homeowners between the ages of so that's your you know your your more millennial homeowner and I guess a lot of is too dependent on the secondary town you live in and how proactive you are and secure in your property you know some people just have a dog and you know what if you have your security systems and your dog is walking around and trigger to security systems can it can that happen? It
Unknown Speaker 7:28
can the motion detectors can be programmed to know when there is an animal in the home so it doesn't trigger the alarm so if you do set it set the alarm and the your pet is roaming around it doesn't set it off nor cat or dog Yeah, now goldfish
Unknown Speaker 7:48
goldfish is swimming in the in the in the water. Yeah, that won't trigger
Unknown Speaker 7:52
they're not gonna trigger you running around, or at least he's out
Unknown Speaker 7:55
there we'll go fish you can relax. You go fish. You know, I like to have fun. I like to have fun when I do my radio show. I'm a licensed insurance broker. My name is Don Marquez, and my special guests in my studio today is Desmond along with Ali. And they're talking about their home security system. Now if you're just tuning in for the very first time I broadcast right here, k und 91.5 Jazz and more every Sunday morning, from 8am to 830. Grab a cup of coffee, your favorite beverage, you know, again, I'm so excited to be a part of this amazing opportunity offering auto insurance, homeowners insurance and life insurance for more information you can contact me at 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 with your home security systems. It does give you homeowners landlords, renters discounts on their homeowners, renters and landlords insurance if, if that's correct, correct. Per and also with the with the security systems. Is there like different applications as far as okay, there's always the deluxe package right? But everything everything? Is there a different levels of packages that you could offer for our listeners.
Unknown Speaker 9:23
There is a lot of times we just built a package that fits the needs for the homeowner. Okay, so it's the needs that they need at that moment. They can always add on if they wanted to later on if their needs change, alright,
Unknown Speaker 9:34
so they can always add on. Okay, so my home security system, I bought it five, six years ago, I added this home security systems and you know, and it's very sensitive. If I open the door, close the door, or if a door is ajar. It'll alert me right away and as an AI it's proven itself to be very efficient, even even at night when I'm sleeping in bed at night. And I feel very secure. I feel extremely secure. Because if there's suspicious activity, people trying to break into the window now, we your security system, you know, when people try to come in through the window not so much the door? I think burglars I don't know that probably instances can say they come through the windows more often than doors right? No, actually not. And
Unknown Speaker 10:24
burglars come to the front door through
Unknown Speaker 10:26
the front door. Correct? Really? Yes. I don't know. I wouldn't
Unknown Speaker 10:30
imagine because it looks suspicious. If someone's walking in the door, if you're calling if someone sees you trying to get into window that look at that imagery looks. So it's me learning alarming versus if someone just walked out the door? Or someone the neighbor might think it's a guest or visitor. You know. But the to answer your question. The systems we offer our I love them there I had an older system before and switching over the x axis I have to my phone, my cameras, the doorbell camera, it's just way more advanced the unlocking door, like when I have guests come over, you know staying with me, they can have their own code that's temporary that can last a day can last a couple of hours. It can have housekeepers come in without getting a key. I love those. I love those features with it. And then even offer now garage door sensor that can open the garage in case you leave your garage door open, you can literally hit a button on your phone that can close it. The I sleep better at night because of it. And I think before my system prior to had I thought it was great, you know it was but getting this one way more advance. And I feel way more secure, especially in the town, where you
Unknown Speaker 11:46
know, it's always concerning when you go out of town. As I remember, when I went out of town, I forgot to lock my front door. Unfortunately, I needed to call, I needed to call you and say doesn't want my door front doors. Can you go check out my front door for me. I remember and I was in California, and the security system went off. My security system went off. And I was in California and I had to call Desmond to say hey, Desmond, because you go to my house and, you know, secure the house.
Unknown Speaker 12:19
And that's when I told you that, you know, our systems wouldn't have just literally hit a button on your phone, it would have been done easy. It would not be good.
Unknown Speaker 12:27
If the door jars itself, then how it won't the security someone close it?
Unknown Speaker 12:32
No, but you would have been alerted immediately. So before even hitting the airport, you would have known you'd have known by backing out of the house. So that's the difference. That's the difference.
Unknown Speaker 12:42
Okay. Well that's, that makes sense. That makes sense. Because, you know, I told him as I'm in California, my alarm system is going off and and it made me very concerning at the time here because I'm over 300 miles away from home, and my system went off. But that's that's news you could use. My name is Don Marquez along with Ali and Desmond. And they're they're here to share valuable information on security systems. And if you don't have a security system, which of the listeners do to get more information on how to obtain a security system,
Unknown Speaker 13:15
contact us the best way to reach us. You can reach out to be in touch or online or you can contact me if you'd like 702 7728 61 for more information. And
Unknown Speaker 13:28
then with me, Ally, you can reach me at 70272728962896
Unknown Speaker 13:35
Edeka probably got the last four. So would you read both repeat your numbers again, please.
Unknown Speaker 13:40
My number again is 702-727-2861.
Unknown Speaker 13:47
And mine is 702-727-2896.
Unknown Speaker 13:53
You with a security system. You know, it gives you that peace of mind that you need when you're away from home when you're sleeping. One of the one of the problems we have in Vegas is we have very different we have very hard water here. And let's say a person is you know away from their home. And I don't know if your security system will alert you know a family member or not. If there's a water leak, well, you're secure really where your security system, notify a person that your water heaters broke or there's a line broke behind the wall or the washing machine. That happens from time to time and I encourage my listeners, if you listen to this program when you wash clothes, when you finish washing clothes, turn the water line off behind the washing machine because the pressure stays on the hose. If we're you know if you leave that waterline on, because it's very convenient. Just turn the washing machine on and off. But if you don't turn the water line off behind the washing machine, eventually could break because it's pressure building up it goes up it goes down. So if I understand you correctly, you're you're secure The system will alert a homeowner or a renter. That the there's a there's a water leak, if I understand you correctly, unfortunately,
Unknown Speaker 15:10
I've had to water claims myself in the last the last three years. No, not at all. And the claims process is terrible to go through that. So now after the second leak, a home flood I had, I have sensors in any room that has water so my bathrooms, kitchen and an upstairs washer and dryer and I have a peace of mind now because even right after the flood I was, if I heard water running, I couldn't even sleep and panic. Now I know if there is a leak I am my phone is gonna detect me immediately interesting.
Unknown Speaker 15:45
So So what your home system is, is the sensors are located all over the house or general locations, when a sensor in a room how is it set up,
Unknown Speaker 15:56
it's wherever you want to put them. Usually I recommend if you can't do all of it, at least put them where the washer is and your water heater. Because those are the main ones that usually right, start a some sort of leak. The sensors are wireless, like they're called wireless blood sensors, you just put them anywhere near where it could be a leak, especially if there's a washing machine upstairs. At least it will detect you before there's more damage damaging the floor downstairs.
Unknown Speaker 16:26
Now with your sensors and the maintenance on the sensors. We've grabbed battery batteries or or how do they? How do they charge up car battery operated or better is a double A's a little flat battery? We'll get to that. Because it depends on the options, right?
Unknown Speaker 16:44
For example, like, like, for example, the doorbell, the doorbell camera, it can be wired into your home or you can have battery operated. So you know a lot of cell foreigners, they usually take the battery operated option because it's not permanent dependent, you know, it's a lot easier to get approval for that from their landlord versus it being widened to the
Unknown Speaker 17:04
right. And it makes it convenient when this is wireless. Because you could you could replace it but a lot easier. You don't have to have a leg to hire an electrician or a tech technician to come out to the house. Just simply take the old one off, put the new one up. Right,
Unknown Speaker 17:21
exactly. And a lot of people don't know like, especially that live in apartments, they're not allowed to screw anything like on the building. So there's leaves that you can actually put on the door where it secures the battery operated doorbell.
Unknown Speaker 17:35
Now some of these security systems, they offer this the sign in front of the house, do you with your security systems? Do you recommend putting a sign in front of the house and saying I have a security system
Unknown Speaker 17:48
a burglar is less likely to invade a home 300 300% less likely to meet a home when they know there's a security system and when they see the sign? Sign? Correct.
Unknown Speaker 17:58
Okay, so people like well, I just want to I just want to buy the sign. Is that okay? No, I you know, and that 300% Well, that's a good number 300% it, you know, just get to sign. You know, I'm just having fun.
Unknown Speaker 18:18
It acts as a deterrent, you know, yeah, even I have even stickers on my door learning. There's a system in my home, on my side door. You know, so it's, you know, it's a, like I said, I, I feel way more secure when leaving my home versus, you know, even for my older system because of the cameras and technology we offer with those systems. Ali,
Unknown Speaker 18:42
how long is the installation process,
Unknown Speaker 18:44
it depends on what you're putting in, it can be anywhere from just two to three hours up to six to seven hours.
Unknown Speaker 18:50
So it's less time and and they they activate
Unknown Speaker 18:54
immediately. They do so when the installer goes out there, he makes sure that they don't leave until the customer understands how to how to work the system.
Unknown Speaker 19:03
And, again, tell our listeners how to get in touch with you for more information.
Unknown Speaker 19:08
So you can reach Ali at 702-727-2896
Unknown Speaker 19:13
or you can reach me at 702-727-2861 2861 Okay,
Unknown Speaker 19:20
my name is Don Marquez, this is your insurance connection. You know I like to bring guests on my show that you know educate this is an educational program that educate options that people have in their life to better improve their lives. By listening to my show, I've been on the radio K u and v now for almost two years, I've come to celebrate my two year anniversary. And the response that I get from our K UMB listeners that you know that there's a unique audience out there that listening to this program because sometimes people are getting ready for church or you know, they the early risers and They're just doing their thing. And they listen to the program. And they used to call me on a Sunday or Monday, I used to receive phone calls. And I have a lot of questions, you know, a lot of answers. And I try to answer every single question. And it goes from A to Z, the questions they asked me, but this is unique and different, this is the first time I've ever had someone on the show to talk about a security system. Now with a security system, so our listeners listening, it will give you a discount. Now, we can't tell you how much it will discount. But because every situation is unique and different, depending on your insurance company that you're currently with, they allow certain discounts, they call that the bundle today. You know, that's I actually bought a new home and auto, but you can endorse security systems on your homeowners insurance policy, that will will reduce the cost of homeowners insurance, whatever we can do to save money, right? Yeah, and and let's say it, your homeowners insurance policy has gone up because you didn't file a claim. And
Unknown Speaker 21:02
as an example.
Unknown Speaker 21:06
But what you can do is, you know, what you can do is raise your deductible, most people carry $1,000 deductible, you can raise your deductible to $2,500. Just keep in mind, you're responsible for any amount of damages under $2,500. Because you know, they want to shop, the worst time to shop. If you have filed a claim that claim is paid and closed up, it is very difficult to shop for other insurance, when you have a homeowner's claim. Now with the security system, it may prevent you having that claim. Because as we spoke earlier in the conversation, if there's a water leak, there's a detection per No. So you can take care of a lot or you could take it a lot sooner. And I tell my listeners if you are a homeowner, and you have to file a claim, do it immediately do not procrastinate. Because when the adjuster comes out, and it's been three or four months later, because I know we all have busy lives, that that claim could be denied because they said it was a preexisting condition. Because you didn't do anything to stop the damage, right? You didn't do any stop to the if you have a slow leak on the roof. And you see the water spot getting larger and larger and larger. But you know, you wait months down the road to file a claim, that claim could be denied. What the homeowners security system that we're talking about right now, early detection. So you may or may not have to file a claim.
Unknown Speaker 22:30
Correct. You know, you're mitigating a problem you're, you know, in Nevada we have floods or water leaks are one of the biggest Yes, filing claims that people do and having that flood sensor in my home now it makes me feel way more secure. And you know, again, I had two and three years and it does I live like you said I live a busy life and you sometimes you just you're in a hurry, you don't hear the toilet running and you're out of the house. And next thing you know, you have a flood going on with your kitchen and you know, personally I between the two losses, I was over $50,000 with the damage to my home so well
Unknown Speaker 23:10
not I mean, yes, we have the water losses in the valley. But we also have fires too. You know, I'm home Fourth of July. It concerns me because in my neighborhood, they have weapons of mass destruction these young characters in my neighborhood, they go out somewhere across the state line and we know what we're doing on the city limits. And they get these weapons of mass destruction and they boom boom on a loan Fourth of July. So I'm proactive I used to go you know, to other friend's house on the Fourth of July to celebrate I just rather stay home. I just rather stay home because I know in my cul de sac these children come out and one guy had a rocket in the back of his pickup truck I don't know I think that was the grand finale of everything said none but I don't want this rocket these you know that the blow up and or hit my front porch or you know, hit my home. But we do have fires and when a fire is you know goes off. Of course if you have smoke detectors, hopefully it alerts you immediately. But sometimes, you know, you can leave the stove on right you're you're cooking and and for whatever reason you've I've done it once
Unknown Speaker 24:24
done at once I've done it once to a smoky house.
Unknown Speaker 24:28
I've done it once unfortunately Fortunately, you know, I when I woke up, the fire was still on it was a low fire. I was I was cooking with a low fire. I like to cook with low fire, you know my stovetop, and it was still on. I forgot to turn it off. But my smoke detector didn't go off. There was no you know No, no pan or skillet to well in it to alert me. It will your system alert. If you're at home. Will it will it uh alert if there's you know, a small fire from a stove or if you have a you know someone that smokes cigarettes and all of a sudden, you know, the couch is on fire. If
Unknown Speaker 25:09
it's if it's a deductible fire Yeah, definitely if it's a fire for it, definitely it will be should, it should pick up that with the decentralized monitoring. That's the biggest thing that's different because again, you we have people monitoring that situation, and if it detects it, you will get notified. And if you're not available, the fire department will be notified.
Unknown Speaker 25:33
My name is Don Marquez, this is your insurance connection broadcasts and ready to kill you in the 91.5. Jazz and more. I'm a licensed insurance agent offering auto insurance, homeowners insurance life insurance, you would like to make a comparison on your auto insurance. I am a licensed insurance broker. And what's your life insurance. If you find your life insurance policy is going up as you age. Let's have an insurance review. Let's sit down and have a talk about you know what our options are, I represent over 60 Life insurance companies, we will find a life insurance policy that will fit in your budget, my contact phone number is 70223626247022362624. To recap, I've have Desmond and ally in my studio right now. And we're educating you on security systems that you can have in your home. And as Ali pointed out, you do have options. And with with a deluxe plan, of course, I'm quite sure you have different tiers of plans to fit in one's budget on and how a person paid you they paid it for full or there is a monthly fee, of course, it would be an MFI monitor. So
Unknown Speaker 26:51
they have a couple of different options they can do where it is monitor through the company when you set when you set the alarm, and you have the option to do self monitoring. So you don't want the whole system. You just want to have like cameras or add smart devices to that you can okay and a lot of people go that route because it's more in their budget. So they can put like a front camera back camera of their home just to feel that sense of protection. And you can even add the video
Unknown Speaker 27:19
doorbell Video Doorbell right. And I've seen a commercial with the video doorbell somebody's coming up, take a package and it's Hey, yeah, all right. But
Unknown Speaker 27:27
you actually can the cameras do allow you to talk. If you do see someone coming in your you can talk to the person to the cameras. There is a or if
Unknown Speaker 27:39
you just get a guest you know, come on unexpected guests like maybe your neighbor we want to stop over and and spend a little time with you. You can see people coming onto the
Unknown Speaker 27:47
front door. You don't want to answer you just pretend you're not there.
Unknown Speaker 27:51
We've all done that.
Unknown Speaker 27:52
I want to thank you Desmond and ally for joining me today. We'll do this again in the future. Is that alright with you? Thank you for your question. My name is Don Marquez.
