Good morning. This is your insurance connection. I'm your host. Donald Marquez, on your insurance connection, we talk about saving money on auto insurance, homeowners insurance, yes, and we talk about life insurance. Welcome to the show you.

Good morning. My name is Donald Marquez. This is your insurance connection. Broadcasting right here at K, U, N, V, 91.5, Jasmine, or every Sunday morning from 8am to 830 Welcome to my show. Broadcasting here probably about three years now, and I just want to thank the management staff, my engineer, Wes for all this great opportunity. I have a kumv 91.5 I am a licensed insurance agent. Talk about insurance. That's what I do. I licensed broker 29 years in the business, and I share with you valuable information that I have learned in my many, many, 10 year years as an insurance agent coming on the air right here at KU and V 91.5 jazz and more to educate you, this is an educational show. I'm also a licensed insurance broker to offer insurance in 48 states and not in California for auto and home, and also not in New York for auto and home or life insurance. But the other states I can offer Auto Home and Yes, life insurance. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, I started with all state insurance company back in the late 90s. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. Mr. Ed Davis, all state manager, gave me this unique opportunity, and that was back in the late 90s, 96 actually, I received my first license, and I've been upgraded ever since, but it's been an amazing journey. I love what I do. I would love to meet you our for auto insurance, homeowners, yes, life insurance, boat motorcycle insurance. And I love what I do. I shop for rates for you that's affordable. Now, sometimes, you know, I'm competitive, sometimes I'm not. That's the way it goes. I'm going to be straight with you. Sometimes, you know, I can help you, sometimes I can't. But again, I've said this on the air before, if you're shopping for auto insurance and you have the minimum state requirements on your auto insurance, bodily injury policy, you want to increase that to 50,000 per person, 100,000 each accident, at least $50,000 property damage. What? Yes, is your insurance gonna go up slightly? Yes, it is. But what it does when you start shopping for car insurance, it helps you get a lower rate. Now you can see all ads on TV you like 15 minutes will save you, but they don't. That's a nationwide broadcast throughout the nation, and people. Only thing that does is generate a phone call. That's all it does. It doesn't talk about your current insurance policies, if you've been in an accident, if you had tickets. It doesn't talk about talk about any of that if you file claims, they tell you so easy to file a claim on the app. Yes, it is, but that could affect your car insurance rates. I say this and I say it again and again. If you are an auto accident, you do have an option to do everything yourself. You know, the insurance companies have insurance adjusters. If you don't, if you're not happy with the settlement, only thing you need to do is contest the settlement. Let's for an example, if they offer you a low amount for your your car on a total loss or even a partial loss, you can you can do your own comparison shopping. It takes a little bit of a footwork to do it, but you can get your own estimates from The Body Shop. And if your car is total it's a total loss, and they want to give you a reduced amount. Only thing you need to do is go online, get three comparisons, print them out and or email them, download them, email them. You know how we you know, do that today, so you get three comparisons. Now, what I mean by that the make model a year of your current vehicle with similar mileage, as close as mile as possible, make model year and mileage and that, send that in it to your adjuster to show that your adjuster, for an example, if your car is a total loss, and they want to offer you, let's say, $12,000 for your car, but to replace your cars around 18,000 that's what they're going for. So just print out the $18,000 cars make, model year and mileage. Comparables and show them, and they will up their, their, their settlement. It happens all the time. I've done it. I've done it more than once. My my GMC. I had a 97 GMC truck Yukon. It was a nice collectible. It was stolen. They wanted to offer me $3,300 for my vehicle. I showed them comparisons make model year, what they're going for. My settlement ended up being 12,500 I didn't need an attorney to do that. You do have an option to get an attorney, but the attorneys want to make sure that you know you are injured in an accident. This is how they get their compensation. If you're injured in an accident. Now, you do have an option to get a lawyer or not, but you can do everything yourself. Just keep in mind, your attorney is going to take you up, take about 40% of your settlement. Yeah, 40% and the policies don't pay you any more than the policy limits. So whatever the policy limits are, that's what you're gonna get a settlement on. Just keep that in mind, nobody's gonna get rich. Well, attorneys get rich. They do. So, you know, you hear them say, well, we won't take more than you. Okay, that's fine. What if it's $1 you take $1 more than they do. But okay, let's say if you get $100,000 settlement, just for an example, you get $100,000 settlement. That's 40,000 right off the top. The attorney get, if they go to into litigation, $40,000 of deposition. A dad called a deposition, whatever they call it. When you sit down with the other attorneys and you talk about your injuries, and they try to cut you. They try to cut you down to your knees and not give you anything. But you know, so 100,040 to the attorney, right off the top. Now you owe your doctor another 40. You see where I'm going with this. So that's only leaves 20. Yeah, it happens all the time. Unfortunately, happens all the time. But I tell my customers this, as an insurance professional, you do have the option to get an attorney. I'm saying not. I'm not. I'm not telling you not to get one. That is your option. But if you can do it yourself, try it. Try to do it yourself. If you're in a car accident, this is why insurance companies have insurance agents. They can guide you through the process. So you know what? I've been in a car accident, what do now? You're a lawyer. Your your agent is going to ask you, did you get a lawyer? And no, I don't have a lawyer. I don't want to get a lawyer because they take, you know, a long time to process this. I, you know, I do have some back pain. You know what? The claims adjusted with the insurance company that you're with can refer you to a physical therapist or, you know, to get your get you healed, get your back in shape. If you have to see your primary care physician, go see your doctor, get your prescribed medications. And then when everything is and when your doctor releases you, when the physical therapist releases you, then you negotiate with the insurance company. That's all it is. Is a negotiation. So whatever your doctor bill is say you try, try to go three times your doctor bills, and that's it. Maybe they may give you two times your doctor bills. But you know this, this is down all the time. When I was in car accidents, and I've been in a couple, well, a couple of them was not my fault. One was my fault. I do admit I make mistakes too. I was downtown one day, and I made a left turn. I was confused. It was a lot of construction, a lot of signage that was confusing. It was dark, made a left turn, and I had a head on collision. Fortunately, I have enough coverages to take care of the people bodily injury that I injured. Yeah, it was $100,000 in damage, you know. So, you know, the car was total. My car was total. It was pretty bad accident. I came out okay. To me, it was like when I was back in high school playing football. It felt like a football hit a blind side. Football hit for me, but you know, for the people that were in the car, they were injured, and the paramedics had to come get them, and hopefully they're fine, they would find later on. But still, it was a lot of money paid out to these individuals on it. It was two individuals on the car, and they got a decent settlement. But it was my fault. I admit to that. You know, if it is your fault, if you hit someone from the back, you know, get give them your information, if they want to take a picture of your ID card, or even your, maybe not your driver's license, but your ID card front and back, give them the information so they can file a claim if they stopped in front of you and you hit them in the rear, because maybe you were texting, not paying attention. Looking at the signage, it's a lot of signage in Vegas, and you know what I mean? These signs are everywhere, and, you know, they're like, Okay, who's coming to town? Oh, Bruno Mars. Oh, bam. Oh, my goodness, I'm in a car accident. It happens. Or are you passing by the stadium? Who's the Raiders playing? Bam, you know, in a car accident. Or if you're driving and texting, you know that, that speaks for itself. Volumes. So. So many accidents from people driving and texting. Stop it. We must stop driving. In tech, it's not that important. You know, these phones today, they can connect Bluetooth to your car rear stereo, and you could talk to the person you need to talk to. You don't have to, you know, doing driving, and I've seen people do it, driving 70 miles an hour on the i 15 or the 215 and they're texting and driving. It's insane. You know, driving is 70 miles plus an hour driving in Texas, stop it, because it's creating a lot of accidents. It's making all of our insurances go up. My name is Don Marquez. I'm a licensed insurance broker. To contact me, my my number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624

I could my office location is on the corner Sahara Rancho in the US bank center, eighth floor. My business hours are Monday through Friday, from 10am to 5pm 702-236-2624, I work by appointment. I'm on the eighth floor, right on the corner Sarah and retro in the US bank center. Work by appointment only because, you know, sometimes, yeah, I may have may not be in the office, and sometimes people show up and they're like, oh, where's Don Marquez? Well, he's on out on another appointment. So that's why it's very important to contact me by way of phone. Again, 702-236-2624, car insurance rates are not going down. They're pretty much stabilized where they are right now. Hopefully they don't go up anymore, but we can, we can do proactive things, like, if you want to purchase a car, you know, people getting these tax refunds, hopefully. Oh, now it's time to go, get into another car, check on the car insurance first, before you purchase the car. I can't, I can't say that enough. Now, graduation is coming up soon. You know, the the the younger generation is graduating from college. They're graduating from high school. Parents feel a need to, you know, gift them a nice vehicle to to move forward in their life. But you need to check on the car insurance rates first before you go out there and buy that. You know, Mustang GT for your son or your daughter. It's happened, you know, when I first got into business, I learned a valuable lesson real quick. So this young guy came in my office, I was an all state agent at the time, and he said, I'm graduating from high school, and my dad is going to purchase me, you know Pontiac Trans Am, a brand new Pontiac Trans Am. This is before Pontiac that's Safari. Go back. This is before Pontiac went out of business. He wanted a brand new Pontiac Trans Am, almost like 400 and plus, 450 horsepower just it was a beast with all the bells and horses, electric windows, everything, everything, everything. And I'm trying to, and this young man is my office, and I'm trying to, you know, he wanted an insurance quote on the car he's looking at, and when she was smart to get an insurance course first, because he was like, oh, I need this information to take to my dad. And I'm like, Well, you know, I mean, you really want to get a car like that. You're only 18. And I'm trying to talk him into getting, probably getting probably getting a little pickup truck or something, you know? He said, like, no, no, no, this is what I want. I gave him a quote. His dad came in the next day. We sat down, and I'm like, you know, man to man. I'm like, you really want to get your son this car? I mean, you know, look how much it costs for the insurance. He said. He said, Why are you concerned about it? I'm, that's what he wants. I'll pay for it. I said, You know what? You're absolutely right. You want to get your son this high performance vehicle and you want to pay this higher insurance rate. Who am I to talk you out of it? But that's a rare occasion, because usually when adults come in with their young children to put an insurance put them on the insurance policy, they're like, Oh, no. You know that was one out of almost, almost 30 years of an experience, but it taught me a valuable lesson. Hey, if you can afford it, and that's what you could do, go ahead and do it. But he did come to see me first before he purchased the car insurance, which was smart, at least he know exactly. Okay, my car cost this much. My car insurance is going to cost me this much. I'm 18, and I'm buying a high performance car, you know, and life goes on. God bless him, you know? I mean, I would never do that, but, you know, hey, it is what it is. As parents, we you know, sometimes we want to gift our children nice gifts, like a car, but with the day's rates, you need to call first check on the rates. First. I could be reached at 702-236-2624, I'll give you an auto insurance quote. Homeowners will combine the both together to give you the bundle. And you know, because the bundle, what it does, gives you discounts if you're a college graduate. Or you've been to college, that does if you went to college, it did not graduate, or if you graduated and went to graduate school, that's also discounts on your auto insurance policy. Yeah, if you're married, we want to put you on that one policy together that's a multi card. That's multi policy discount, multi car discount. So I've ridden married couples, but they want to keep their car insurance separate, and I say, you paying more for it? They said, No, no, we want to keep it separate. Every household is a little different. I can work with you either way. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. Broadcasting right here at K, U, N, V, 91.5, jazz and more. Sunday morning, from 8am to 830 the weather in Vegas is just amazing. I think we have an early spring. It's it's only February, and this is starting to warm up. I think this week, I looked at the weather and it's going to be in the in the 70s already. But can you imagine that already? You know? And in some parts of the country, just snow everywhere. My brother lives in New York. He works for the railroad, and he showed me pictures. He sent me pictures of the condition, the snow conditions where he is back East. And he said, How's the weather here in Vegas? I'm like, everybody's walking around with shorts and short sleeve shirts on. You know, it's February. He said, Wow. He said, I had to dig my car out of the snow today to get to it. But, you know, this is Vegas weather. I think it's a little too soon for this type of weather. Maybe it just shows us what the what the summer's gonna be like, another scorcher. The people are getting out. You know, my whole point is people are getting out. They're driving. They're letting the convertible top down, you know. They're enjoying our scenery here in Vegas. They're going, they're going places, doing things, a lot of cars on the road, and we're probably going to get more people moving to Vegas because of the California fires, you know. So I can see people talk about the traffic. We really don't have traffic here in Vegas. I mean, it's a little slow down here and there, and traffic problems do create accidents. Usually it's a traffic jam because it is a car accident. Somebody wasn't paying attention. So we all have to pay attention. We all have to pay attention when we're driving, you know, just pay attention to the road. Don't look around the signs, you know, just and if you do are in a car accident, you know, try your insurance company first before you get an attorney. But if you find the need, you need an attorney, you have every single right to go get you an attorney, even if the case has been going on for like, six months and you're not happy with the results, and if you need to go seek legal counseling, that is totally up to you. The insurance companies cannot stop you for getting an attorney, because when you go get an attorney, of course, the insurance companies, they have to have their legal representation too, as well, and that's all costs everybody more money on the insurance in the long run, just just it just gives you a heads up. This is one of the reason why our insurance rates are what they are, and we pay some of the highest car insurance rates in the country, right here in Southern Nevada, people come to me, you know, from some Midtown, you know, little town America, and they say, Oh, we thought I heard the rates would be less here than little Middletown America. I don't know how they come up with that when the when the town closes up at 7pm you know, it's just, just down at 7pm and they think the car insurance going to rates are going to be less here than little town America, but they're not. Even if you come from the large cities, you quickly find out our insurance rates, auto insurance rates are, you know, every city has it something. They're a little high, but I try my best to get your affordable rates on your auto insurance. We bundle, we bundle the rates with the home and auto and, yeah, see what we could do to lower those rates for you. I would like to see your auto auto policy when you when you come in and talk to me, or if you were talking on the phone, I do a lot of business over the phone. Know your rates. Get to know what you're paying for so many customers over the over the 29 years, I ask them over and over again, what is your car insurance coverages? They don't know.

I'm with this company. I've been with this company for a long time. I didn't ask you that. I asked you, what is your bodily injury? What is your property damage? You know, I got full coverage, that's all, but that's so vague. Get to find out what your coverages are on your homeowners policy, your auto insurance policy, if you have a boat, motorcycle, get to understand what you are paying for and all and you know, and sometimes this low cost, dirt cost insurance is not always the best service insurance to get. I've heard people come to me complaining about, you know, I went to this little place an insurance, you know, they gave me a good rate. Yes, but the service was terrible. You know, I needed a tow. I waited four hours before the tow truck came. I thought I had uninsured motors protection. No uninsured motors protection. A person hit me without insurance or or they hit me in their car insurance lapse. But, you know, you went to these small, you know, companies that you know these companies that represent these type of coverages, I don't, I don't, I remember, I represent premium companies. It's important for me to represent premium companies so you can get quality service. Because, you know, Sunday noon and you and something happens, you can always pick up the phone and call direct to your insurance company. But if you are in a car accident or you need some advice, or you're getting ready to purchase a new vehicle, or you're going to take a driver off and put off your car, whatever you need to do, I'm always available to contact me, but I encourage my clients call the insurance company direct or now today, everything's on the app, so you actually, you can go to your app. You can just you download the app. You have to download the app. Now, because you sign all forms, there's no more paper. If you need a ID card, you can always contact your insurance agent and ask for a paper ID card, but you can have that ID card now on your telephone. You do, you download the app, and if you if it's Saturday, at eight o'clock at night, you're at the you're at the car dealership, and you want to purchase a car, you could take your current vehicle off, if necessary, and put the new vehicle on, just by your app, because you have all your information right there. You have the event number, the date when all this is taking place, everything is right there, and it'll give you an ID card right on the spot. Now, I know some people a little bit challenged with the apps, but you know, if you have a younger person in your household, they're like, oh, 123, let me show you how to do this. That's it. My name is Don Marquez. I'm a licensed insurance broker. I'm here to help you. I offered no obligation insurance reviews, 702-236-2624, 702-236-2624, my location on the corner Sahara Rancho in the US bank center, eighth floor. I am available Monday through Friday, from 10am to 5pm and there are some Saturdays I will work. But again, 702-236-2624, sometimes I like to be off too. I work all the time. I'm, you know, at the point where I'm not ready to retire. I, you know, I don't know retirement is the ones that are retired. I don't know what you do, what do you do with yourself? I've been I'm almost right there. I can retire, but I want, I do love talking to people. I just do enjoy what I do, what I going to work talking to people you know, and especially, especially if you're from Las Vegas, oh my goodness, we're going to have at least 1015, minute conversation about, you remember when Vegas was it had this in town, and that's gone now, and this, this casino was up, and it's gone now, and and just talk about The changes in in Vegas from from when I was grew up and went to high school here to where it is today. It's an amazing city. I love my city. I love the people in it, and it's going to get even bigger as time goes on, because people from all over the country come to Vegas because of our weather, because of a lot of different reasons, but the main reason people come here is, though they said, well, Vegas is affordable and the weather, I don't want to Dick my car to the snow anymore. I'm tired of the earthquakes. I'm tired of the fires. You know, it's just a lot of different moving parts. Why they move to Las Vegas, and I'm here to assist you with your insurance. You know, I am a licensed in the state of California and Nevada for auto and for for life insurance, and all over the country for auto, homeowners insurance. 702-236-2624, life insurance. If you don't have life insurance, you need life insurance. I received this information in the mail, and it looks very simple to fill out just, just okay. Here's my monthly rates for a man. Here's a monthly rates for a woman, and it's a $50,000 life insurance policy. But you see, the problem is, when you get these offers in the mail, only thing where people see is okay, my age, I'm gonna go across the line. Okay, it's 5000 10,020 30, oh, $50,000 worth of life insurance. And here's my age, and I'll go across. Oh, I could afford that, but that's an introductory offer for the first five years. Yeah, for the first five years. And then it's graded. It's upgraded. As they say, your upgraded level five. Benefits. In other words, every five years your policy goes up. It goes up so expensive within the first 10 years, you're like, Well, I can't afford this anymore. Well, you could have, at your current age, take out a level life insurance policy where the rates of benefits are locked in for the life of the policy. Don't fill out these policies that come in the mail. A lot of times they disguise themselves as a as a real life insurance policy, when they are only accidental and if people are, you know, if they have critical illness, these are critical illness policies. Don't fill those out. Cinnamon. I can be reached at 70223626247022362624

let's get a real life insurance policy. You know, I talk to people in funeral homes that own funeral homes, and they say 70% of the people that come in and some of these funeral homes do not have a way to pay for their loved ones. Final expense, you know, you know, the final expense is this. It's just a fact, either you're gonna pay a little bit right now, or pay for it all at once when that day comes, pay a little now, or pay it all at once. I can write a life insurance policy up to 85 years young. I can write a life insurance policy from when the time you're born to up to 85 years young. My name is Don Marquez. I could be reached at 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. So broadcasting right here at K, U, N, V, 91.5, jazz and more. Love it here. The weather is going to be great today to Sunday morning. You know, get out. Take a walk. Enjoy, you know, enjoy our beautiful city. You know, take a walk. Get some fresh air, and you you know, walk off some of those calories, you know, what? A lot of people that's retired, I noticed they do kind of say the same thing. Well, you know, I watch it, I get something to eat, watch TV, and I fall asleep, or I'll eat and then go to sleep. That's the worst thing you can do, it that'll give you a belly in no time. So I kind of be cautious of that. Maybe you want to after have that meal and I go to sleep, maybe you want to take a little walk, or, you know, just get into a routine of exercise. It will your body would love it. It's good to exercise at least walk, least three days a week. This is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 row, 22362624, enjoy your day. We'll do this again next week, until then, just keep it crispy.
