My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection I broadcast every Sunday morning from 8am to 830. given you a valuable information about insurance My favorite subject is always life insurance. However all for Auto Home renters motorcycle boat insurance and yes life insurance. But I find it you know when I talk about life insurance a lot because people need to know about life insurance. Most of you know about car insurance you know and I say most of you because a lot of you out there thank you have full coverage on your vehicle and you really don't that's why it's good to get a review. You know you you in a car accident you realize you don't have certain coverages and you thought and then you call your insurance agent upset because you thought you have full coverage. Well that's a vague term full coverage and I don't like to use that word. And the insurance business and we don't use were like full coverage guarantee. We just don't because it just it just too many moving parts. With your auto insurance. My friend Christine Barnard. She comes on the air from time to time she was just recently in a car accident oh she's she's doing fine but she was she was a hit on the driver side. And she's going through the process right now getting healing and also getting a car repaired fortunately she is she did survive the accident. And we wish her well to get well soon. She's a little sore but she's able to drive a rental car. And so that's another thing when you have car insurance you want to make sure you have that rental car reimbursement. That rental car coverage is coverage your car when you when your vehicles in a repair shop for covered lost. When you have a covered loss. You want to have a be able to get a rental car now people get that confused because they think rental car reimbursement is oh okay, I'm going on vacation, I have rental car, oh, my car insurance, and I'm gonna use my rental car for my content that doesn't work that way. Now when you do rental car, I do. Yeah, there are times the times I do rent cars, it's time to time. There are times when I use you know the other services that transportation services may catch the bus or make kits other type of transportation. But when I do rent a vehicle, when I do rent a vehicle, this is being out of town. They want to know what my liability limits are a limited liability on my current auto insurance policy. Now you do have the option to purchase their auto insurance at the rental car location. So you do have that option. Or you can use your own insurance. Now when you rent a car from the airport more than likely you will pay more for everything.
Unknown Speaker 4:43
But if you can get away from the airport and rent your vehicle for a few days, you know it's up to you. That's up to you whether you want to take their insurance, or use your own insurance now when I do rent a car, I take their insurance. I'm in the insurance business I can easily use my insurance. I do care very higher limits of liability. That's what they're looking for higher limits of liability, because when I take their insurance if there isn't a car accident, that there was a car accident that I can use their insurance instead of mine. That way their car is not being held up, I'm not being charged on my credit card. And these are ways when you're out of town, all of a sudden, you're in a car accident, you get another car have you survived their car accident and you get another car. And but when that car is out of service, to my understanding, they could charge daily rates. On your credit card, when you when you have a car accident on a rental vehicle, you know, they could make some adjustments on your credit card to charge you, when that vehicle is out of service. If you use your own car insurance, now you have to check with the rental car insurance eight with the rental car insurance agencies, and to see what their policies are just don't sign the paperwork. And as I need to go, I'd been flying off all day all night, and I just want to get my rental car and go to my hotel or wherever your destination is. But you have to ask the right questions. If I'm in a car accident, how does that work when I'll use my own car insurance. And sometimes you may or may not have enough liability coverage on your current car insurance to cover the rental car requirements. Again, you know, that's probably the ask for a minimum of 100,000 per person three and 1000 each occurrence now, the rental car, I don't know what the prices are, you have to you know, evaluate what that is and what you want to drive and, you know, wherever you going, they may charge some mileage I know they want you to put gas in the vehicle. But things like this cost you money, especially when you're out of town you kind of vulnerable, because you need this type of transportation. There are other forms of transportation you could take, you know, some of these larger cities like my my engineer, and I talking, his name is West and they were talking about, you know, back east and I remember the flying to New York, and they had all these different tolls. However, I caught a cab from the airport and the cab driver had to go through a couple of tolls to get to my hotel destination. You know, of course you know that that fee is passed on to me but I cannot imagine rental renting a car then the panel is a different month all this additional money going into these tolls of these larger cities like you know Becky's in New York. When you do plan your vacation and you are going to rent a car, you know, ask the right questions. The one of the main questions is, am I covered using my own car insurance? If there is an accident? Do I have to pay for the car being out of service? Am I covered or do I pay additional money every single day? That car is out of service. This is information you can use for more information. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection, my contact phone number 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. Again, I hope my team member Christine Bodnar gets well very soon. And you know back in action, they will have a back on the air. She was on the air with me about two weeks ago on Sunday. And she was keeping us informed on what's going on. And in the legal world. Everything legal is her business. We work together as team members when you have a life insurance policy. And you know, you need that power of attorney for medical and financial reasons. Christine Barnard is very instrumental helped me get my clients that met medical and financial power of attorney or she offers will and testimonies and testaments and promissory notes. You know, for more information at 702-236-2624, Christine Bernard team member of your insurance connection, she helps me out in so many different ways when it comes to the legal part. And also she is seeking to be a for not forget, she can help you put your name on the deed on your home. That's really important. She can help you put an additional person on the deed of your home. That is important because without no one on the deed on the home, that home could go into probate. And I know that's not your intention for your home to go on probate your home should go to a loved one or your spouse even if you're married here here's check this out if you're married and your spouse is not on the deed, and the primary owner of the home passes away and you and your Mary and it still could be you know the house could could end up in probate so it's more information you know, good information you could use 702-236-2624 My name is Darren Marquez. Let's get with it. Let's go. People ask me all these questions all the time. About You know, what is the most I could take out for life insurance what is you know, what is the maximum I could take? You know, people ask me that question. And that's a loaded question because I come back. And I said, How much can you afford a month? And so we go back and forth, back and forth seesaw and back and forth. You know, if I say, Okay, how much life insurance you need, I don't know what your what your needs are. What we do is a, you know, a life insurance evaluation. It I asked, What are you trying to cover? What is it that you're trying to accomplish with a life insurance policy? Life insurance policies are amazing to have multiple, multiple streams of income? You know, people say, Well, I can save money, you know, well, you know, if you're not really good at saving money, life insurance is a good solution for that. But it does it even if you save money, well, it gives you another avenue of income coming in, why not have multiple streams of income coming in, or one when we pass away, you know, we we give our family members, multiple streams of income. Let me say that again. When we pass away, we give our family members multiple streams of income. Now, when you when you hear, you have multiple streams that you have a retirement, let's say for retirement, so security, or you have other benefits coming in, but a life insurance is going to ensure that when that day comes and it comes for all of us, your family is secured now with another stream of income, because your income could cease upon your passing, or it could reduce upon your passing. Now, if you're self insured, if you got enough money in the bank, that's one thing. And that's good, because you may have new, you might have to pay death taxes, we never know. But if you have multiple streams of income, you have life insurance, you have your retirement. And I've talked to many of you that's in unions, credit unions work for the federal government, school teachers, I mean, it's so a lot of you people work for Republic Services, even police officers, you know, postman, when they retire, their benefits reduced or when they retired, they out of the group for the life insurance. Now the rates they pay goes up every single year, every single year. Now, if you're going to pay for those benefits, why not review your options, get your own separate life insurance policy, the way from your career away from your job, you know, job policy, you never they never hand you a policy, they said okay, here, here's your policy, along with your other benefits is your life insurance policy. But they do they sign you up for life insurance in HR, human resources, they sign you up, okay, your salary is XYZ and we're gonna give you, if you pass away during whatever period, during employment, we're gonna give you three times your salary. Okay, we're gonna give you three times, well, we're gonna give you a beneficiary's three times your salary upon your passing. I mean, if you're making this thing about it, let's say you make your school teacher you making like $75,000 A year $75,000 A year you have young children at home, that's 2020 $225,000 with young children, if there is a premature of passing, okay, if there's a premature passing, you may not have built up enough benefits for retirement for your spouse to live on, but only 20 to $25,000 Because you said, Well, you know, I don't need life insurance, because I get three times my salary. $225,000 like 3040 years ago, it was good money.
Unknown Speaker 13:41
If people said they weren't good money, and 40 years ago, it was decent money. It was 40 years ago, but we're not living 40 years ago, we're living in today's very expensive economy. 225,000 with the children under 10 years young, how long would they really last? Think about it, you want to pay for their college, you can put some money aside for the college by the time they go to college. Eight years later, let's say what their one child is. 10 another one is 11 They're going to college within eight years. You know, and you only have 225,000 After you bury you love what you may and pay some bills off and pay your car off. You may be down to like maybe 180 180,000 The funeral is 20,000 the car 25,000 Okay, now the children needs a someone needs to take care of children. If it's a single parent, it gets even more expensive, because now one of your loved ones have to take these two children enter their household and take care of their financial needs. Not only take care of them emotionally because they lost a parent or what if they lose both of their parents? How does that work? My name is Don Marquez. I'm here to help you. I mean, I've been an insurance agent for 28 years. I've heard a lot of different In situations where people, you know, I've been, you know, caught up in a life insurance policy where it was the wrong policy, they find out they had accidental only they or they had a policy and their loved one borrowed money against the policy. And now when they go to the funeral home losing a loved one, there's not much money left in the policy because the money borrowed. You know, it drained the face amount of the policy and reduced the face amount down. I've heard a lot in my career. And this is why I come on the radio, because I care about people. I love what I do. And I love to meet you. Because such, you know, a reason we get into business. One of the first questions they ask insurance agents, when they're interviewing, you pass the state exam, did all your fingerprinting, the background check the credit check. I mean, they check us out as insurance agents, because we're representing, you know, a billion dollar life insurance companies and billion dollar auto insurance companies, these insurance companies have a lot of money. So they want to make sure that they have the right people to represent them. Now, if companies did not need insurance agents, believe me, they've tried it 800 Number online, they do everything they can, but when will you mature in life, he wants to one sit down and talk to you about your insurance things. Everybody's insurance needs are different. You know, I care about people, I've heard the stories before. I've heard many, many stories where people, you know, lost loved ones. And you know, there was no life insurance or, again, they bought the wrong policy. I'm here to help you guide you through the process of purchasing the right policy for the right price, the policy that's going to last a lifetime. Now, if you purchase the term insurance term is okay. But I rather you purchase a term policy through me because I'm going to show you what's in the contract, whether your term insurance policy is convertible, and most of them are that I said, Well, let's say 99.9%, all the policies of Term insurance policies are convertible, but you do have to act on the conversion, you do have a conversion period, within that policy to roll it over from term insurance to Universal Life. Why is that important? Because your term policy will end regardless of what company bought that term policy from. Now, you may have filled out some information in the mail that you receive. And you say, Well, you know, I ought to worry about that, because I already have a policy. Now it says to age 95. But when you look at the illustration, when you look at most people don't most people don't look at the illustration, it'll say, okay, every five years your policy is going up in value that is going up is as far as the price I'm sorry, it's going up, the price is going up every five years. Because you follow you receive something in the mail came from your bank, your credit union department store that you're familiar with, or you do business with, and they sent you this invitation to buy this term life insurance policy. And you say, Oh, that looks good. I don't have any life insurance. You know, I don't take I don't have to take MediCal. Now look at these rates, you know, they look pretty good. And I call them teaser rates for the first five years, maybe for the first 10 years. But the reality is check is going to come in at ventually that policy is gone, that payment has to catch up with your age. Now these teaser rates start off very low and then all of a sudden they accelerate. They get higher as you get older. Now if you're in your 60s 70s and 80s with no life insurance, what are you waiting on, you know, the right policy for you I can find it is not that difficult. If you buy life insurance, do not first little thing come up. First thing you want to do is count your life insurance policy. Why would you want to do that? You know, you can find other things to reduce. We do it all the time we make adjustments. You know, people like to go out and go gamble and playing bingo but in the slots, you can reduce that, you know if you smoke, you can reduce your smoking down to half what you're doing. You know if you're driving all over town shopping, you can reduce your shopping do not get rid of your life insurance policy. The first thing comes up, I need to fix my car. Now I want to get rid of my life insurance policy. Why would you want that's the first thing on the chopping block. Now it's other things that you do do you can chop down. If you have all the channels and I say this, I've said this before on my show. If you have all the show times HBOs the you know the Hulu's the Netflix all that all it costs money, all that and with the latest phone with all the gadgets on it and the first thing you want to do is get rid of a life insurance policy. That is your savings account. That is your way to say to your family. You know, I care about you. I want to make sure that you're taking care of because there's nothing they could do with the HBOs is showtimes and all the features are On your phone when you're gone, there's absolutely nothing they could do with that to take care of your final expenses. Because it could be credit card debt, car payment, car insurance, mortgage rent, and all those fancy channels. Yeah, I don't have all that. I have Netflix so I'm not buying all that bread, those premium channels. I'm the if it's not on Netflix, oh, well, if I can't catch it on television, Oh, well.
Unknown Speaker 20:27
I don't, I don't. Because television, then I'm telling my age. It used to be free. You know, we had a few channels here in Vegas I was doing this is my hometown born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and eight now 106 is where I was born and raised. And now Vegas is it used to be a little small town. But we only have seven high schools. But look at it today. Look at it today is so is an amazing city that we live in. It's a beautiful city. I love my city born and raised here and I watched it grow up to where it where it is today. But television back then we only had a few channels, channel three, Channel Five, channel 13, Channel 801, Channel 10. But that was it. But now we have all these different channels to select from. And you know, but people buy all these television networks and they don't see all of you unless you're in front of the television every single day. It's not worth it. Having your life insurance policy in places letting your family know it's a gift of love is a gift to say you know, when that day comes from it's not your family is not a if is when that day happens. I am securing your future to make sure you're okay. My name is Dawn Marquez, this is your insurance connection, my contact phone number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. Again, I want to give a shout out to the listeners that call me booked an appointment showed up for their appointment. And you know, we took care of business, everybody's different. So no one fits in the same box. You know, husband and wife want to get life insurance together. And sometimes, you know, the husband has his life insurance and the wife needs life insurance. The wife wife have a need or the husband have a need. Let's get that life insurance policy. Now if you have family members with you know, underlying health conditions like diabetes, lupus cancer, you know, the cancer as long as the stage one stage two, with more than 12 months to live, we can get you a policy. But if you have a buddy of you stage three cancer, you know, we have to really have that, that that conversation. When you come and see me and I have you taking prescribed medications, take pictures of your medications, though of the bottle, or just have your list of your medications because I will ask, what are you medications? Now there are some policies you do have to have a physical, determined the universal life normally that's the physical and you don't pay for that. Now let's take for an example a person comes to see me okay, I want to buy $300,000 life insurance policy, we take the application and take all your information. Right after that process, then there is an online interview, you have to fill out all the health questions, or they may even be a phone interview that takes about 15 to 20 minutes from the life insurance company. Okay, from the life insurance company, they the interview on the phone, they want to know who your doctor is phone number address with eight because we need to pull records. Now with at the end of the conversation, they'll send a paramedic to come to your home, they're gonna take vitals from you blood pressure check, maybe body fluids, maybe even hair samples and saliva test to see if you're a smoker, nonsmoker. Now that caused that has a cost to it. And it's very expensive, less than $300. But it is a cost the insurance companies pay for after that they pull records from your primary care physician, they have to pay the primary care physician for your records. So by the time the policy gets to the underwriter, the insurance company has already spent less than $1,000 to get the information they need to process your application. Okay, the process your application. This is why it's important to follow through once you submit an application for we're talking about, you know, $100,000 and up to follow through because insurance companies it does cost them money to submit your application to get you insured. Now, the process doesn't end there any any information they may need from you. You know what type of job you do if you're a truck driver or a driver, you drive limousines, do you have any accidents or tickets, they do run your driving wreck and I'm not trying to discourage you from getting a life insurance policy if you don't have a policy, but these are the step by step processes, especially with the larger policies. And you know, and the reason why they're very careful of who they select is because of the virus All right, right after the virus you know, it changed everything. They used to issue policy 100,000 No problem. We don't need a physical just issue but Today, they've been a lot more careful. They want to make sure you do qualify for their life insurance. And it's okay is I'm just giving you a heads up the step by step process because most of you don't know what goes on once I take that application, and then you know the step by step process. Once you receive your life insurance policy, you'll come in my office, it comes to me by way of mail, I'll come in, you come in back from out, you come into my office, we'll go over the policy line by line. This process is seamless, you know, but you have to follow through on your appointments. Because when they call and what that phone interview if you don't answer it a couple of times, they may not call you back because they feel like you're not serious. You know, you're not sick. Right now the life insurance company, overwhelm with business. People are buying life insurance.
