Good morning. Good morning, Las Vegas and all the surrounding communities. My name is Don Marquez and welcome to another edition of your insurance connection that we've been broadcasting a little over a year right now K, u and v 91.5. Jazz and more. And I just want to thank the listeners that have come in and looked at we've looked at their home their auto and yes, their life insurance. Want to thank you so much for your continued support. listening to the radio program. It educates people about their insurance, their home, they auto buy life insurance. Now why is it important to get an insurance review? Getting an insurance review brings you up to date on your current insurances. We always complain about how much car insurance we pay right in the state of Nevada. But we do nothing about it, we just pay the premiums. You know, we don't understand why our homeowners insurance is going up. We don't complain, we just paid a premium. Now your life insurance. That's a little different. It's not like your home or your auto insurance. You know, it does have accelerating premiums as you get older. But that does get your attention right. That gets your attention because you're wondering why when you bought this policy, why is your life insurance going up every year? There's a reason for it because you're getting older the cost to insure you costs more money. Now at your insurance connection, which is a company that I own. I'm a fully licensed insurance broker. I represent multiple auto insurance carriers, multiple homeowners insurance carriers, and yes, up to 67 life insurance companies that I represent well known companies that you have been familiar with, you know, Pacific Life Mutual of Omaha, Transamerica, just to name a few. For final expense, we have Lincoln heritage Life Insurance Company. That's a quick and easy policy, up to $35,000. In coverage, there's no physical, most people do qualify, there's only 12 health questions. There is no physical, let me say that, again. There's no physical, no physical, just one pays easy application. Most people do qualify for day one, insurance day one, up to a final expense, life insurance. Now, if you have life insurance, and your policy is going up on you, every year, on its anniversary, as you get older, now it's time to do something about it just don't continue to pay those premiums. Because what is going to happen, you're going to pay him to a point where you cannot afford to pay those premiums anymore. You got to say to yourself, you know, I've had enough of this and it costs too much money. It is worth it. But it's not. There are other options. There are other options. All the insurance companies have insurance agents for a reason they represent the company, and also the customer, they bring the customer to the company. Now they did a survey years ago, 20 years ago when I was in the insurance, still insurance business. But 20 years ago, when they tried to eliminate insurance agents, they tried to get one 800 Or you know, everybody get on the line and do it. It just did not work. It did not work either. So there is a certain demographic out there to don't mind going online, buying the home and auto and even they shop for life insurance, which I don't understand, because you put a lot of personal information out there on the web. But insurance companies realize a certain age group 55 and older, you know, we can even back that up to like 40 and older. They want representation. And this is why we have insurance agents. Now does it cost more money to have an insurance agent without an insurance agent? No, it does not cost you any more money. The reason why we here because we understand the underwriting guidelines, what the companies are looking for whether you qualify or not. But if you've been with your current current, your current auto insurance carrier and your policy rates are going up. But you know we can't go in and just change the rates. We just can't go in and just make adjustments on the rates and keep your same coverages. We have to reduce your coverages or take some coverages away completely to bring that rate lower for you. We don't have the power to do that. We are highly regulated. We our fiduciary company. Insurance companies are highly regulated in the state of everywhere, especially the state of Nevada. Oh my goodness, you know there been some serious car accidents here lately? And I just have to say that we need to be a lot more careful driving down the road. You know, I see people texting, driving on the cell phone, not paying attention. And here's another one that really gets to me. I don't understand why it's not a law. But when you're driving down the road and your dog is in a lap while you're driving, that should be a no, no, really, because you're putting yourself at risk. You're also putting your pet at risk. Think about it. If there is an accident, your airbag deploys you and your dog is going to be one you're gonna you're gonna have the same DNA because your dog is gonna smash right into you probably kill your dog. You're gonna be severely injured. And you know, you don't want that for your pet. You're packing right in the backseat, open the window a little bit. I had a dog. We had a golden retriever years ago and his name was radar and radar. He was a big dog said no way he's gonna ride in the front seat, where there's the passenger seat or in my lap, going down the road, no way. So we will put radar in the backseat or roll the window down and he loved it. He was fine. But people driving around with the dog in the front seat of the car. You know, I know you love your pet, but come on now. That's not necessarily something happens and it could happen quickly. You know your dog is going to be injured or or you could it could be fatal for you and your dog. My name is Don Marquez, my contact number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. I'm a local here in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is my hometown. I grew up here and I love my city. I love the growth of my city. My office is located in the heart of a beautiful city, on the corner of Sahara and Rancho in the US bank center located on the eighth floor, our work by appointment 702-236-2624 We're talking about a little bit about auto insurance. You know, the rates here in Vegas are a little expensive aimez expressly in Southern Nevada, they are and if you've been with your insurance carrier for at least three years, we can do some we can do shopping for you when you when you bounce around a lot. You know you're not really favorable with the better rate because that's a better rate the favorable rate I say or reduce rate on your auto insurance. Because when you think about it, when you jump around from company to company every six months you're switching you will we you lose what we call a loyalty discount. The loyalty discounts means you've been with your company for quite some time. And they will give you a loyalty discount reduce your coverages by way of saying okay, you're been loyal to us, we're gonna save you money. However, if you get a speeding ticket or even you have to file a claim that loyalty discount may go away or it could be reduced. Now you panic and you want to shop and you find that sometimes it's even better to stay is it to your advantage as to say to stay at the company where you are until that claim falls off or that speeding tickets fall off. Now we can get you your speeding ticket reduced down to a parking ticket. I have a lady on the team member Her name is Christine Barnard, she can get your speeding ticket reduced down to a parking ticket contact number is 702-236-2624 for more information 702-236-2624. On your first line of auto insurance, you have the bodily injury, where protects you for liability when you hit someone in a car accident and it's your fault. Now, the bodily injury portion of the auto insurance policy does not cover you. It does however cover the passengers on the car and the people that are not on your auto insurance policy. The next line is a property damage PD that we call it property damage that replaces a repair the property that you hit in an auto insurance accident. Well when you fall in the claim it does not cover your vehicle. It does not cover your vehicle. Now the uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage for bodily injury you and also the passengers in your car. If someone hits your vehicle with or without enough insurance to cover you and your passengers bodily injury, that's really important to have this coverage. You know, there's drivers on the road today with no car insurance. If they hit you, you do have to file a claim against your own policy or maybe use your own health insurance. But if you don't have the coverage, you will definitely need to have your own health insurance and you're not covered because you're not covered on the bodily injury because they don't have any insurance right they're driving around without insurance. They're taking a chance and if they run into you then you will find out very quickly. Those cut rate insurances you know to save money and you eliminate the uninsured motorist portion of the policy is going to be to your decision And it's not to your advantage. Now the next line of insurance is called medical, medical, medical covers any type of medical for you, people you hit the passengers in the vehicle if they're injured, it covers the paramedics, the paramedics is going to charge you to come pick you up and take you to the emergency. They're going to send you build a right away even before your claim is settled. They will still send you a bill right away. Now this is one of the biggest mistakes people make quite common is when you're in a car accident and it's not your fault. It is not your fault would you do you call your own insurance company and say you know I was in a car accident. I want to file a claim to get my car repaired, I'm injured. No, you shouldn't do that. You should contact the person's insurance company that hit you. When you are in a car accident, take pictures of the car accident, take pictures of the car accident their pictures of their driver's license and also their identification card. Their most current identification card now if you have ID cards in your glove glove compartment that's been there for years and you know you have a lot of different ID cards stuggles ID cards away because if you get pulled over the officer is not going to wait around and shuffle around for you to find your most current ID card. I know what's in there somewhere. I you know I put it in here, but you have these old ID cards and they don't mean anything. They're worthless paper. You need to shred those term I'll get rid of them throw them away because police officers are only looking for the most current ID card now if you don't have an ID card, contact your insurance company tell them you need the most current ID card or they you know what they can do they can email it to you or they can send you a link so you can download it yourself or print it yourself or even better yet you can have it on your phone, your ID card on your phone My name is Donnell Marquez If you're just tuning in for the very first time I broadcast righty a K u and v 91.5 jasm or 8am to 8:30am every Sunday morning I know it's early this is gonna be Super Bowl Sunday. I'm excited. I'm going for the Rams I'm gonna tell you that right now the Bengals look really good
Unknown Speaker 12:08
they beat us I was at the game when they beat us. I said wow and they got they got better every single game had thereafter they shocked me when the they got to the Super Bowl. I didn't think they were ready but look at him you know you know that that's the thing about football. You never know what's going to happen one play can make Turman out the game for the rest of the game and just an expression of that fourth quarter that's I call it the money quarter. But you know I'm excited the weather here is amazing. I don't know what's going on in Vegas right now we have 80 degree weather and February you can you believe it is and February we have 82 degree weather I mean people go outside enjoy this beautiful weather. I just hope we don't have 120 degree everyday summertime. In the summertime when it comes I hope it's not going to be a blazing because this as I get older I realized one thing Vegas is getting hotter and hotter in the summertime you know when I was growing up I mean it was it was hot but not like it is now because we have the humidity along with heat and it just seemed like it's intensified but you know we'll see maybe this is just a you know way the weather does this time of the year but not I don't really haven't seen it do this 80 degree weather in February. My name is Donald Marquez, this is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 talking about auto insurance a little bit. You know these coverages on your auto the comp to collision people don't usually know what their deductibles are. However, when I ask them what what type of coverages Do you have always get the same answer I have full coverage. That's not a good answer. I want to know what type of bodily injury coverage is do you have do you have a minimum stay requirement, which is 25,000 per person $50,000 Each accident and $20,000 property damage and I'm so glad the state moved those coverages up because we're for a long time, a long time at 15,000 per person 30,000 Each accident $10,000 property damage. Well, cars now a lot more expensive. So we have to replace these vehicles, you know if they're totally loud, or they're damaged cars costs a lot of a lot more money than they used to. I've never seen cars as high. You know, I mean, it's I don't know what to say. I mean, if you got a car, it's almost better it's to your advantage to get it repaired and keep it as long as you can because these new cars and these pre owned cars are very expensive today and that does cause your insurance rates to go up because the cars do have to be replaced on a total loss or or if they're damage you know the the body shops are you know, they're saying well you know the parts that can't get parts and now all these different excuses. However when the adjuster comes out to look at your car that was paid a little bit more coverage in there for damages unseen damages. So what you can do, instead of, you know, having the insurance company, tell you where to go to get your car repaired, you can listen, you could take your car to any repair shop, you have the right to do so and the repair shop should cover the damage on your vehicle, take a cash settlement, take a cash settlement, that will you avoid paying your deductible if you have $1,000 deductible, and you know, and your cash settlement and you might you know, you're less than $500. So instead of paying $1,000 deductible to the body shop, you know, your deductible could be $500, or by taking a cash settlement, you may not pay anything at all, you may not pay anything at all. Because you know, people say well, you know, I took my car to the auto repair facility they wanted they wanted to collect my deductible. They just put that money in their pocket. They really do. I have my I've had cars damages in the past. My so what I do is okay, okay, well, the damages, I get three estimates, I get three estimates are presented to the insurance adjuster is that these are the estimates, you know, and I take the highest one and they settle you with the highest one. Now it's up to you to go to anybody shopping your choice, you can even go to the dealership if you want to, and get your car repaired. This is information you can use 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 My name is Don Marquez of your insurance connection. I've been an insurance agent since 1996. Wow. You know, time goes by so quickly. Uh, you know, I look up and as you know, I was licensed in 1996. And weird, we're 2020 to get your affairs in order and 2022 this now it's time if you don't have life insurance, in 2022. I don't know what you weigh. Now, as you get older, you know, we all know the facts of life insurance gets a little bit more expensive as you get older, because we qualify you based on your current age, for life insurance can qualify you based on the medicines you take for life insurance, you know, height, weight, sometimes doesn't matter. You know, I've talked to people that are that way well over 600 pounds, and I was able to get them a life insurance policy. Even if you have a mental disorder, a family member with a mental disorder, we're talking about dementia, organic brain syndrome, ALS, Alzheimer's, even if you have a loved one is on dialysis, we can get them a life insurance policy. You or your family member have a history of cancer, we can get you a life insurance policy. Don't think you don't qualify we can get policies up to $35,000. Now, do you can you qualify for the $35,000 policy? Most people do but if you don't, we do have an alternative that gets you something. And when it comes to life insurance, something is better than nothing. Don't go around don't talk about it. Well, you know, I'm not concerned about that. I don't want to talk about it. Someone has to talk about it. The reason why someone has to talk about it because funeral costs like everything else is happening right now is going up. I talk to funeral directors all the time. These costs the opening the closing the headstone, I mean the flowers, the clothing, the flowers, the you know the container, the you have to put up your loved one in the container now, if they're gonna bury them the casket, the home funeral services, the transportation, the hearse I'm talking about, you know, you got to get buy flowers, you know, it's an outer burial container today. And then you're talking about a plot. The pots have gone up in price that's real estate, they go up and constantly go up. You're talking about the opening closing the cost for the opening and closing monuments and markers now when it comes to great grave headstones, you know, sky's the limit what you want to pay. Sky's the limit. These costs are going up all the time every six months the costs go up. And when you talk to a loved one do you have life insurance Dad, Mom, do you have life insurance? Well, I don't want to talk about that right now son or daughter I don't want to talk about that right now. Is a reason why they don't want to talk about it right now because you don't me you may be the responsible one to pay for their final expenses. And I asked you mom and dad grandparents, under 85 and under is that fair for your loved ones to pay for your final expense. We can find your life insurance policy let's take that stress off of them. They already have their own bills. They have young children to raise it maybe just bought a home. They have a car payment and car insurance you know it's their have bills to cable phone bills, rent mortgage, and now all of a sudden you have a you have an untimely passing or you when you pass away. Now they have to come up with all this money to bury you to put you away properly. There's no sane people bearing some running them back yard with the one human leg meat or, you know, disposing your body in a dumpster. Those admits we need to stop thinking that way. And especially the men, you know, the men, let me let me say, you know, man out there, I'm gonna tell you, the women come to see me, I have 10 appointments seven owes of those appointments are women. Really, I mean, we need to step up, we need to step up, I know you don't want to talk about it, who wants to talk about death. But also as can be a living benefit, too. If you need to borrow money from your cash value life insurance policy money could be there for you to borrow in case of an emergency. It's also a living benefit. Look at it as a savings account. Protect your family, you know, we can go out on the strip and have a good time go to these expensive shows and expensive dinners all everywhere. I mean, I mean, if you go to a fast food restaurant, I mean a burger costs almost $20 Today,
Unknown Speaker 20:57
you get the burgers and fries and expensive you supersize it if I had to. That's well over $25 for two these days, I mean easily. That money could be going toward a life insurance policy protect you and your family, I can help you. I have a variety of life insurance companies I work with will sit down and talk to you if you're diabetic or you have lupus. Let's talk about it. Let's talk about getting you a life insurance policy to protect your family needs to make sure you have the peace of mind. And it is peace of mind. You know, over these many years since 1996, I've had family members come to me and said you know we've been paid for three funerals. We're not doing it anymore. No, we're done with that this is too expensive. And on average cost of $15,000. That's $45,000. To come up with we're talking about three funerals. And the churches cannot afford to bury you. Maybe some churches can but most churches can't. My name is Donald Marquez, this is your insurance connection 702-236-2620 470 to 2362624. My Location is on a corner of Sahara and Rancho. In the US bank center lesson on how to talk about your insurances. Let's say I have that conversation about that life insurance policy that you've been postponing for years. But it's 2022. Now it's time that we can get you a life insurance policy up to 85 years young. And if you look over that larger policy, the term policy is not a bad option. If you qualified now we can get you a term life insurance policy up to 30 years. Now if you're a male and you 58 And under we can get you a 30 year term policy. Now if you are a smoker is 56 in under up to 30 years on a term life insurance policy. Universal Life insurance is a little different. It's for the rest of your life or a whole life insurance policy is your entire life term is temporary, who will qualify for a term life insurance policy. Most people can read started you know $100,000 face amount coverage and then the rates are accordingly according the age with your smoker, nonsmoker. Now, if you smoke cigars, it depends on if you don't, if you don't smoke a cigar every day maybe once two times a month you smoke cigars we can rate you as a nonsmoker. We can reach as a nonsmoker with with certain companies. If you smoke cannabis, and the is you know it's the state. legalization of cannabis is not federal. Some insurance companies will accept you smoking cannabis some won't. I know the ones that will we can sit down have a conversation about if you only smoke cannabis. Where are my smokers, I get very few smokers contacted me for life insurance, and you had high risk. You really are when you light up and the cost of cigarettes today. You know, I mean cigarettes are very expensive. I I don't smoke. But when I go in some of these stores, and don't sell cigarettes or like the sale, that's the sale for cigarettes. I remember my mother used to smoke. And back in the day, you know, she's a ratted note and we used to go to southern Lebanon, I used to get a cigarettes when I was young. They don't do that anymore. My mother would write a note and say go give me a pack of cool cigarettes. And I would give it to the clerk behind and I give him the money anyway, you know that it wasn't that much then but today, my goodness what it costs to smoke. If you reduce your cigarettes and a half, you can certainly afford a life insurance policy. You need it your family needed for the protection because when that day comes and it comes for all of us, it's not if it's when it comes for all of us someone has to pay for this very expensive funeral all at once. These funeral homes don't want you know, they can't put you on a layaway program or payment program. They want the money all up front. When that day comes and you have to make a decision like right now. You have to make that decision. You know it's very stressful to go through losing a loved one Believe me I've been I experienced it a lot in my lifetime, you know, and one has no significance over another. It's very hurtful and painful. And it's very expensive closing, I want to say it's not only the funeral, you have to pay for, okay? You may have to move the furniture out of their home. People don't think about this, oh, we got to move the furniture out of the house, we got to rent a truck, need to take time off from work. I need to pay the mortgage, pay the rent, keep the utilities on, while we're gone through all of this. Because for the first two weeks is tough. When you lose a loved one, the first two weeks, you're trying to figure all this out you you know, you you're grieving, you really don't have time to grieve. Because now you have to grieve, often Oh, but you got to go into business mode. Ya know what, you got to find a cemetery, we got to pick out a coffin, we got to, you know, we gotta go. It's just a lot to deal with and you're emotionally hurt inside, you lost your mother, you lost your dad, you lost your grandparents, or even a son or daughter or husband or wife. It doesn't matter who it is, it's all expensive. And you just have to, you know, get into, I have to take care of this mode. And you want to put your loved ones with dignity, you want to put them away with dignity and respect you do. Now if you're talking about a cremation for your loved ones, I understand. But if you want to have a ceremony that costs a lot of money too. It really does. Everything is expensive that everything is going up. So don't think you can do it for a little of nothing. Because again, you do have to close out their estates mean you have may have to pay the mortgage, the rent, the car insurance, a car payment, the utilities have to keep the utilities on until you move them out close out to the state the close you got to maybe give a close away to the family members Salvation Army, I mean, just it adds up. Maybe you need to take time off from work or fly from out of town. All that costs money you got to pay for the airline ticket. take time off from work. repast let's talk about the repairs well how much that cost, food, loved ones, you know, drinks. It's a lot of money. I'm here to help you find a policy that fits in your budget, that won't overwhelm your expenses we can afford. Not we cannot afford not to have this in our family, have a family meeting with your family members, talk to your grandparents talk to your parents, your husband, your wife about having life insurance is something that we all need. Now, I have people say, Well, you don't have insurance on my job. That's fine. But what happens when you retire? You know, some of these job policies don't pay right away. I just want to let you know because they have to go to HR. You have to go do this one that one and you know, maybe three to six months later, it'll pay but it may or may not pay right away. It really depends on the type of job you have. Because some of these policies are accidental only or if you own a job and something happens to you. It'll pay. There's a lot of moving parts with that and especially if you're paying for life insurance on the job, you do have other options. You do have other options. My name is Donald Marquez. This is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624 is my contact number 702-236-2624 love to meet you. My Location is on a corner Sahara and Rancho in the US Bank Center. I work by appointment 702-236-2624 enjoy the games today. Continue to be safe. I got a little point uh you know if they say you can't Yes, you can that's a Donald do it. They say you can't. Yes, you can until next week. Just keep it crispy. Thank you for listening.
