Good morning. This is your insurance connection. I'm your host. Donnell Marquez, on your insurance connection. We talk about saving money on auto insurance homeowners insurance. Yes. And we talk about life insurance. Welcome to the show. Good morning. Good morning Las Vegas. My name is Donald Marquez, this is your insurance connection. Welcome to my show, we broadcast ready to kill you in the 91.5 Jazz and mores early Sunday morning from 8am to 830. Welcome to the show, grab your cup of coffee. And you know check me out. I am a licensed insurance broker right here in Las Vegas, Nevada. And I am licensed also in California to offer you home auto yes and life insurance. We have term Universal Life whole life insurance, there is a difference between the three. And when when you and you come to my office, we sit down and we talk about the different insurances. When it comes to life insurance terms, 30 years 30 Year Term insurance that's the max you can take some may qualify for 20 or less years. However, 30 years before age 58, you can get 30 years of Term insurance. Over 58 You can get 20 years or less. For more information, my contact phone number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 Universal Life and whole life we have those products as well. And we can get you insured with a benefit a living benefit. You know your term is also can be a living benefit as well. Because if you're diagnosed with a ailment and you have less than a year to live, you can advance your life insurance policy. Yes, you can you can advance your life insurance policy receive benefits while you still live in. If you have less than 12 month delay. Yes, you can receive benefits, it's called an accelerated death benefit. That if you need to take care of your final expenses, you can accelerate the policy. A lot of insurance companies do offer it when most of insurance companies that I represent Life Insurance companies do offer it accelerated death benefit. That way you can receive the money while you still live in to take care of a lot of your final expenses. If you have less than 12 months to live, of course, they will verify it through your doctor and and then they will fund the money up to date is a certain percentage I believe is up to 50 50% of the face amount of the policy. However, just think about if you have $100,000 life insurance policy, and needs to close out your you know some financial business, it What a way to receive your policy in advance up to 50%, they may charge you a percentage to advance the money to you up to 50%. Again, if you have $100,000, that's 50,000 to you, they may charge you a percentage never know what that may be. It varies from many different insurance companies. But normally, it's anywhere from five to 10%, they may charge you to advance the policy for an example, if you take out $50,000 on an advancement, and you have less than 12 months to live. Now that that's 5%, they'll charge you 5% on $50,000, they could minus it from the 50,000 or minus from the death benefit. But they will charge you a fee to take the money early. Only if you have only less than 12 months to live. Now I've seen these commercials on television where they advertise. Well, if you have a life insurance policy, we'll buy it from you. So this is how that works. They you know and they said we'll also buy term two as well. Now that's going to be a little tricky. Because term does expire. Now, if you have a policy that has cash value in it, if you have a policy, a whole life policy, a universal life policy, or even an index, it does create a cash value asset. Now if you say to yourself, Well you know I need cash now. And you go to these companies, they will give you a certain percentage of the face amount of the policy. Now of course there are going to be circumstances you're going to be in and need the money right away. They'll buy it they'll purchase the policy from you for an example and I've heard this you can verify this I heard it is this an example that they had these people had $100,000 life insurance policy $100,000 policy they call one of those companies to get the money advance to them and it was willing to Give them 30 cents on the dollar. So that means they was gonna get $30,000 up front, and that the company will make the insurance payments, and they lose $70,000. That's a good deal, I don't know, now your policy is still active, keep in mind, your policy is still active, because now they're making the premium payments, but they've bought you out of the policy. Because now you have a universal life or a whole life or an index policy, they say, Okay, we're gonna give you 30 cents on the dollar, which has come out to be about $30,000. Now, that's just an example. It could be it could be a little higher than it, I don't know. But usually, I don't think they go up as high as 50%. I did call on him to companies one time. And they said they I don't know the name of it, that was a while back just to get some information, so I could share it with you, my listeners, they was willing to give up to 50% of the face amount of the life insurance policy to their clients in every circumstance is different. And it really boils down to the age, how much you own the mortality chart, how much time left, you have to live, because I only want to paint a policy for a short period of time. And then they can collect the balance, when instead of going and selling your policy. Now, again, I talked about earlier in the broadcast, if you have 12, less than 12 months to live, you can take an advance on your policy now to take care of those, you know those bills or pay for the funeral, for an example due to, you know, to secure your financials, why you still live in, they give you an opportunity to tell your family what they need to do. But if you sell your policy, you know, you can always get another policy. That's what that's the see that's the cookie, right that you can always get another policy. But if you think about, you know, selling your life insurance policy, now, I don't buy policies. But I just want to inform you, my listeners, you know, there are options out there if you need the money now. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 is my contact phone number, you can go online and find some of these companies that will buy your life insurance policy. You know, information is easy to access, just go online, and I want to sell my life insurance policy. And I'm quite sure a lot of companies will show up on the internet that you can contact and you can you know, get the money that you need to take care of your business now, whether you have 12 months to live or not. But again, you're going to take a substantial loss, and you have beneficiaries once the policy is sold to one of these companies. Of course, you know your beneficiary is no longer on the policy. They're the beneficiary of the policy. So you will have to do a change of beneficiary form a change of beneficiary form. Keep that in mind. My name is Donald Marquez, if you're just tuning in, for the very first time. This is your insurance connection. I'm your host Donald Marquez broadcasting right he had k u and v 91.5. Jazz and more Sunday morning from 8am to 8:30am. Every Sunday morning. Enjoy the Superbowl last week. It was an amazing football game. I'm still excited about it was two or two of my favorite teams were playing in the Super Bowl. I took the Eagles.
Unknown Speaker 8:19
I took the but you know it was an exciting game to watch. It was just going back and forth, back and forth. The first touchdown scores was the Eagles and then he'd come to chiefs and it was just a wonderful game to watch. You know very sentimental to me because here I'm watching both of my favorite teams, both of my favorite quarterbacks and they're having a shootout. And a good friend of mine, Anthony, he invited me to Caesar's Palace to watch the game with the high rollers. And I want to thank him again for inviting me to, you know, be a part of the Super Bowl party at Caesar's Palace. If you've never been to one of those, if you never been to a Super Bowl party at Caesar's Palace already, or any casino that offer a Super Bowl party, what a wonderful event to be in. I mean they have food, they have all liquor, you could drink drinks, let's just say they have drinks a drink, and the atmosphere is charged up with all those people football fans and they're wearing a jerseys. And everyone is having a wonderful time getting along. It was a unique experience. It's just like being at the game televisions everywhere. But if you don't get a chance to see a sporting event like that on a championship level, what a wonderful event in Las Vegas has so much to offer. You know, music, I play music, every single day, I wake up with music and, you know, listen to music throughout the day, whether I'm at my office, or in my car that was speaking to my my office, my office is located on the corner of Sahara and Rancho, in the US Bank Center, located on the eighth floor, my business hours as an insurance broker, Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm. I'm here for you. And I want to thank the listeners that came in and purchased a home. Auto, yes, and life insurance. Now some people would say, You know what, I already have auto insurance with this company. I've been with them for XYZ, and it will say, Oh, look at that. I've been with them for a very, very long time. I look at it too. And if we can save you money, we'll save you money to offset the cost of life insurance. We all need life insurance. From time to time in my 28 years in this business. I have received calls from people that lost loved ones. And you know, just one particular story I'm gonna tell you, and it's meaningful to me because it gave me more purpose than what I do. At the time, I was with another insurance company. AAA and I worked for them for many years. And I retired from AAA. Young lady came off as her husband. And they they wanted life insurance. They wanted $150,000 life insurance policy and while two more years to retire, and they had just purchased the home. And they pay about 130,000 for the home after the downpayment. And they came to me and they call it he qualified for the life insurance. She didn't want any life insurance, he was already so out. I don't need it. But I do want it for my husband, he has a couple more years before he retires. No problem, took the application he did the physical we pass a physical, we offered him a policy $450,000 in the policy average out to be around less than $3 a day, less than $3 a day because of his age at $150,000. Now he would have been insured instantly. For any type of natural causing passing away or a now though, for all life insurance policy. Keep this in mind. There is some clauses for the first two years for suicide and concealment. But on this particular policy, you know, of course they did the full physical that makes sure he was okay. Now they call me up and say well, we can't afford the policy. Because it's it takes our bingo money away from us. It takes our bingo money away from us. And I said well wait a minute. You rather play being gold and to secure your family's future with a life insurance policy. While we were getting up there in age and we enjoy playing bingo at the casino. We can't take the policy right now. But I said we'll get lucky and hit a large bingo ticket and come back and get the life insurance policy. And they laughed. He thought it was funny. But the sad part about this story is is after refusing a policy nine months later, he passed away before about a year ago, almost a little less than a year ago before he retired. He passed away his wife called me I didn't know he passed away and she called me she's a Donald what you're doing helping people understand life insurance. Don't you ever stop? I said why are you why are you sound so upset. She said because my husband died. I had to bury my husband. I had to take money out of my house. I had to take a loan against my house to bury my husband. We should have taken that life insurance policy don't you stop doing what you're doing? Because you know I I didn't take the policy out and it gets me up. You know, it's emotional to me as well. And I've not only this story I've heard many stories before but this one just rings a bell and we just celebrated Valentine's Day and you know and everybody that can relate to this the loss of their loved ones or lost their spouses and one days like Valentine's Day holidays Christmas and Thanksgiving it's not quite the same anymore. It really isn't especially if you've been with your loved one quite some time. Life insurance is not going to replace a loved one but it does replace the financial hardship you will endure you willing do they wanted to play bingo they they thought you know we can we can substitute a life insurance policy to continue playing our bingo games. You know we all can make adjustments on like we make adjustment It's all the time, you know, instead of say, You know what, I want to go out to dinner, I don't want to come cook, you go out to dinner, but maybe not, you may not, you know, order the appetizers. Or if you, you know, you say, Oh, well, instead of having three cocktails, you'll have two cocktails or maybe two drinks for dinner, because they charge you for everything in the ice isn't all and ice and a lemon and water is not free.
Unknown Speaker 15:24
Really, you know, give me a lemon in your water. You know, that's not a free to charge you for everything, every time you sit down at a restaurant, but you make adjustments you say to yourself, well, you know what, I'm not gonna get steak and lobster, I can settle I can, I can eat some fish or chicken. You know. So we make adjustments all the time. Instead of, you know, going, you know, going around and around every day. And new car, you say, Okay, I'm this day, I have to go to the cleaners, I have to go to the bank, I have to go see my doctor. So you try to schedule your trips, so you won't burn so much gas, it makes a lot of sense. I do the same thing. There's times I go to a restaurant, I don't order the steak and lobster, I'll tell you no, that's too much money. I can cook steak at home. Or you may say to yourself getting off work, I'm tired. I really don't want to cook. But you think about how much dinner is gonna cost you. And then you get home and you say, You know what, I could take that steak out of the freezer, I was taking her freezer, I'll take my steak out of freezer thought out and cook it myself. You could do that we always make adjustments. Yeah, making adjustments for a life insurance policy is something that is in your reach. You need life insurance $20,000 with the average cost of a funeral today, who is going to pay for that? Would you really want to leave that burden on your children? Would you really want to leave your job, your wife in that position with not the money in the bank, you know, some of you don't have $20,000 just laying around. Now some of you do, some of you do, you might have to go to your 401 K, or you may have the money in your savings account. But that is a substantial hit and your savings, I don't care how much money you say. Now, even your savings account today, barely paying less than 1%. Does that make sense? You know, the banks take your money in them, that's your money and make money off for your money. But they don't want to share the wealth. They don't. Unless you bind variable annuities and other kinds of financial products, stocks, they don't want to share the wealth, it should be illegal, I'm gonna put my money in your bank, and you're gonna make interest off of my money. But you don't want to share any of the interest that you want to make off my money. And they make a lot of money. Because what they do, they take care of money and create vehicles like credit cards at 29% interest. And they don't want to give you least three to 5% or 10% interest on that money. You know, they make money off for your money. But the reason why I'm bringing this up, is because Saving money is difficult for some people. But think about it a life insurance policy is like an instant savings account. It's an instant savings account, we can make sacrifices the lady that told me this story, as you know, and that was years ago, and I still thinking about it today. I still think about it today. And not only stories like that, but you know, people come to me and we don't we buried three of our family members. Within the last two years, we're not going through that anymore. We need life insurance. This is five of my family members would have brought you brought you to them by my office. And I want you to get a life insurance policy on everybody and everybody's gonna pay for their life insurance because we're not doing this anymore. We're not gonna pay $15,000 We pay $15,000 per funeral, within the last two years, that's $45,000 the churches are not going to bury your loved ones. Regardless how long you've been a member of the church, they can't afford to do it. That's why they can't afford to bury, you know, let's say they have four funerals a month. And the average cost per funeral is $12,000. That's $48,000. A church has to bury people dead members, they can't afford to do that. That's over that's over $48,000 time, times 12. That's, that's, you know, a little over half a million dollars. Oh my I know that they can do it, they can do it. So prepare yourself, be proactive and instead of being reactive, we all gonna pass away one day. And when that day comes, and it comes for each and every one of us, regardless of you, male, female, each and every one of us, we're gonna have a final day on this earth. And we're gonna move on but when you leave behind is going to be debt to your family members that they may or may not can afford to bury you. Let's get out. Let's take a life insurance policy. Let's take out a life insurance policy. My contact phone number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 located on the corner of Sahara Rancho in the US bank center, right in the heart of a beautiful city, Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm on the eighth floor. 702-236-2624 You know, I've been asked the question, when you know, when should I get a life insurance policy when you get married? We just celebrated Valentine's Day. What a wonderful way to start your marriage off get a life insurance policy. Yes. Get a life insurance policy when you get married. You know, who knows? You never know. Because when you get married, what happens? You're in love, you're in bliss. Now life insurance is the gift of love. Now, I say this time and time again, instead of buying a very expensive gift, tell your loved one. You know what I just want to take out $100,000 life insurance policy with Donald Marquez, I made you the beneficiary. Or I can go to the jewelry store and buy you a nice ring or a nice necklace. What would you rather have nine some women on the say I rather have both, I get that too. But get security a life insurance that's $100,000 tax free benefit to you. Now I've been the recipient of two life insurance policies. Now I was a recipient of a life insurance policy when my wife passed away to continue my life that was over five years ago. So when I talk about life insurance, I'm not saying I'm not saying this from a vantage point of an insurance agent, you know, where you know, get the life insurance and, and you know, the you know, just know, I want you to get a life insurance policy because it does change or enhance your life. Now, when my wife passed away, it enhanced my life because I didn't have to sell my home. I didn't have to go into debt to pay for a very expensive funeral. I took the life insurance policy to a funeral home. So here's my wife life insurance policy. I'm the beneficiary. Now the very first thing the person at the funeral home will do. They'll pick up the phone, and they'll contact the life insurance company to make sure the policy is active. This is what they do. That's it yes, the policy is active and as non accidental only. And he's been paying on the pause for XYZ Policies Act we would like to file a claim behalf of Mr. Marquez, so she so he can bury his love his spouse. And they said okay, no problem. How much is a funeral and they file a claim for that amount. Now, once they're paid, they're paid, nothing slows down, everything is seamless. Now they'll take their money out for the casket. You know, they do everything they need to do to get the property remains ready for the service. Now, once you receive your death certificate, then you file an additional claim to receive the benefits of the life insurance policy, tax free. tax free. This is not hard. We always make adjustments to study, you know, getting that steak and lobster. You know, maybe you want to get the chicken or the fish. Or maybe you just want to go home and cook that night because you went to the grocery store. You know, think about how many times you went to the grocery store. You put food in your freezer, right? And it's been sitting there for over a year man they say meat only lasts frozen for one full year. And you know as odd as me had been here for a year and a half I never cooked it out you know I bought it and then you throw it away. Because you go to these restaurants you go to the fast food so I stared at the fast food restaurants I mean they're there every now and then it's okay. I went to this fast food is well known fast food restaurant with the Golden Arches Windows weighing you know, I don't want to say their name. But you know when we talk about
Unknown Speaker 23:24
oh my god. It's been a year since I've been in there is a reason why. Oh, okay. I can't do that. I don't know. And that was when we were kids. We loved it. You know, I don't know why today as an adult. No way. I could do that again. I won't do my body like that. My body was just what did we what? We liked a fruit and vegetables and steak and lobster. Why are you putting this inside a body? You know, my body was talking to me. We have to take care of ourselves. You know you get outside walk a little bit the weather's okay. This is the time of the year in Vegas, where you need to get out take a walk. You can take a walk and like in the mid day when the sun is up and it's about 65 degrees. I know it's a little sometimes a little windy. Weather it's kind of up and down but we have with the best winters on the planet. We really do. Now we really can't complain them and egg is a little chilly here and that is time of the year but we get out take a walk. Meet your neighbors take the dog out for a walk. Yeah, and tell them about me. By the way, tell your neighbors about Donald Marquez on you on this station. 91.5 Jasmine more. And you know I buy life insurance policies for him. He was excellent. You know, he took me he took me by the hand and show me step by step with a life insurance policy will do. I can afford it. I can afford it and don't say you can't. Yes you can. You can't afford not to have it because someone has to pay for this final expense. And tell your neighbor who bought me 702-236-2624 My name is Donnell Marquez. This is your insurance connection. We broadcast here K u and v 91.5. Sunday monitor 8am Am 830 Now if you did receive a speeding ticket, we have a team member Her name is Christine Barnard. She will get the speeding ticket, in most cases reduced down to a parking ticket for you. And the reason why you want to do that because when you have a speeding ticket on your driving record, when your policy when your auto policy renews, when your auto policy renews, they see a speeding ticket on there, it could up your your car insurance rates, we want to keep our rates down to a minimum. Now if you just moved to Vegas, and I've talked to people just moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, okay. They move to Vegas, and they still have their cars registered in a different state, the state they came from now the law says you have 30 days in the state in Nevada to change your car insurance over to the state of Nevada and get your car registered in the state of Nevada. Now some of you listening to this program as well. I have another residence in a different state. You can kind of get away with it. All right, you can get away with it because now you consider what they call the Snowbird I would love to be a summer bird. I really would I would like to leave Vegas here and when summertime here, I would love love to live in San Diego where the weather's like 6570 degrees in the summertime and come back pack come back to Vegas in October. You know for real I mean, the summer's here are something as if you just moved to Vegas. You never been in the summertime. It's an it's an eye opener. It's warm here. It's hot. And I'm sitting you say is warm is hot. It gets up to about 110 in the shade. But this is Vegas, every city has this something that's our something. But when you move to Vegas, and you just move in here for the first time and all of a sudden you find out what car insurance cost. You'd like oh my god. Oh my god, I can't believe it says hi. And we came from Virginia little small town in Virginia. We thought the rate is going to be less than Vegas. Why are you thinking that Vegas is a real city now. Now you live a little small town where small town USA, you know small town USA and I would probably love to live in a small town. You know, the bacons used to be a small town but look at it today we got well over 3 million people live here now. But small town, USA, the rates are gonna be a lot less in small town USA. In Las Vegas, Nevada. Every city has its something. This is our assumption. Our insurance rates are a little a little on the high side. But don't give up. I can do the shopping for you. My contact phone number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 if you just got married on Valentine's Day, congratulations. But you and your spouse need life insurance. We do ask for your social security number because we have to do a background check on your medical. We have to do a background check on your medical and we have to make sure that you know we need to know what medicines you're taking. What is your bodily injury? What is your property damage? What is your uninsured motorist protection? Now most of you know your deductibles. I give you the credit for that. This is why we need an insurance review if you find your life insurance policy is going up in price every month or every year. We need to sit down have insurance for you.
