Good morning Las Vegas. Happy Sunday morning. Early Sunday morning in beautiful Las Vegas Nevada. My name is Donna Marquez and welcome to my show your insurance connection when we when we talk about insurance saving you money on your home auto and yes, always we talk about life insurance. I've been on the air now for about a year and a half right here K u and v 91.5. Jazz and more welcome, welcome. Welcome to my show. Before we get into it, I want to thank the people that contacted me and purchase home auto. And yes, life insurance. Since the virus has been here, we've been offering a lot of life insurance. So people hear the program. And they contact me because they're very concerned about the current life insurance. We offer no obligation, life insurance reviews along with your auto and your homeowners insurance. Today with me I have a special guest. Her name is Harris Kennedy, what a beautiful name. Good morning. Good morning, and welcome to the show.

Unknown Speaker 1:22
Thank you. Good morning. How are you today?

Unknown Speaker 1:24
I'm wonderful. Glad to have you here. She's a new team member of your insurance connection, she is studying to be a licensed life insurance agent. She will be coming on board pretty soon after she she completes her course and then take the state exam. You know, it's a unique business that I've been in since 1996. I welcome you and I welcome others that want to join my team. And we educate them on how to introduce insurance life insurance to our clients. And I have to ask your parents why insurance. So why would you want to be an insurance agent?

Unknown Speaker 2:00
Well, I feel this is something great. I'm a people's person, I love to talk to people. And I know this is something that's very imperative, something that we need. They don't have too many young people now the days, you know, soliciting these things. So I thought that this would be a perfect fit for me to come in. Be a great team of the insurance company. And I appreciate you for having me. And pretty much taken me under your wing. I'm excited.

Unknown Speaker 2:27
Yeah, let's again wing my wings gonna fly for a long time. And it's not from a Red Bull. Never. My wings are soaring right now. I love it. Because it's an industry that, as you said, people have to have insurance. Now we have no problem paying for car insurance. We have no problem paying for homeowners insurance or renters insurance. But when it comes to life insurance, it's so Miss unrepresented it in a way that or misrepresented, I should say, in a way that you know, people think they can get a lot of insurance for low costs. Now not to say you cannot afford it, you cannot afford not to have it. But some of these commercials rate starts as low as you know, you've heard him on television, but people don't hear that. And they don't quite understand this a lot of more detail what comes with that? Because when I say rates are as low as 995, right, that's only less than $1,000. That's maybe one or $2,000 worth of coverage. Sen. That's not enough. What can you do with one or $2,000 with the coverage? When a person contacts me? The first thing I want to know what it is, of course, you know, I'm agreed on and everything but I want to know the health condition what type of medications are currently taken, because I want to make sure I placed them with the right life insurance company. At your insurance connection. I represent 67 Life insurance companies, we can help you with your life insurance. My contact number is 702236262 470-236-2624 pairs, you know is a wonderful industry I've been in since 1996 I've seen it a lot in my time as an insurance professional. And as you grow in this business, you know what one of the beautiful things I enjoy about this as some from time to time I will take me a done day. Nothing wrong with that. No, it's not because in the middle of the week, I said you know what, I've worked hard all week. And I just want to take a day off. Of course I'll take off the weekends. I will work some Saturdays by appointment only. But you know, it's a business where you can command your own time. You can make uh, you know, you you get your schedule, you book your appointments, you meet your appointments, and you take care of your business. Now you have the rest of the day what to do whatever you want to do.

Unknown Speaker 4:43
I love it. That's that's one of the reasons as well being independent with it, you know, and that works especially if you're a busy mom, you know, you hear in there you got so much things so many things to take care of. This is great, you know this works for you. So that's another reason you know besides me Man, a people's person. And I just want to thank you for having me on the show. And I thank everyone, for listening to us today.

Unknown Speaker 5:06
Well, I'm gonna be honest with you the reason why I put you on the show to put the pressure on you, so you can finish a course and take the state exam because you know, we have 1000s of listeners. And you know, so we can put the pressure on you to finish the course. So you can meet some of these listeners that listen to K, u and v 91.5. Jazz and more. So it's a great business, you know, they're in the insurance industry. I love it. Because I get to meet people, like you said, your people person. Yeah. And I'm also a people person. You know, I'm in my 10 year of my career, I've been in this business now for 27 years. Wow, that's awesome. I've been in this business for 27 years, it's a lot I have not seen. But you know, it's a learning. It's always evolving. I'll learn new things about the insurance industry. You know, what is most valuable to the insurance industry is your integrity. You know, being being there for your customers, when they need you to most iron for my customers, whatever comes up, because I pride myself on my customer service, whatever comes up, come to me first, I am your contact, the reason why insurance companies have insurance agents for representation, because even with the virus, the virus has changed everything. Since the viruses come along us. I've offered more life insurance than I ever have in my career. Because people are concerned they're losing loved ones. Yes, they're losing loved ones. And they go to these funeral homes, and they find out the cost of burying a loved one. It's extremely expensive today. Yes, it is. Well, it's not as never been unexpensive. But it's always been very expensive. Because it will put it will alter your finances if you're not prepared. You know, life insurance is a gift of love. Life insurance, a gift of love. When I first got into this business, my manager at Allstate Insurance Company, his name is Ed Davis. He said you will not understand the value of what you do as an insurance professional until you deliver your first death benefit. And I delivered my first death benefit went back back in the 90s. When I was in this business, I think I wrote the policy and then my client passed away. She passed away three years after writing the policy. And she left her son behind she was getting a divorce and she left the son behind. And the money that gave to the family was $100,000. So as I presented them $100,000 Check. But the son was only like seven years young and the sister got the sun. And she was going to raise the son of course take the money and send him to college. Yeah, it may. It made a difference in my life. It made a true difference in my life. Because I remember when my manager told me it Allstate Insurance Company. At the time I was an Allstate Insurance agent. He said the value of what you do daily, who will be measured by when you deliver your first death benefit. And it was it changed my life. It gave me a different perspective, about being a life insurance agent. Now, not only I'm a life insurance agent, all For auto, home renters boats, and also motorcycle insurance, my contact number 702-236-2624 I would love to meet you. And in the future you can Paris, she's a team member. You know, I don't make house calls. But if I don't make I'm busy in my office, my office is located on the corner of Sahara and Rancho and US bank center. And I work by appointment 702-236-2624. I'm a little excited as you can see, but you know, bringing team members on get me excited. You know why I'm excited? Yeah, they because I'm passing on a legacy that I've enjoyed for many, many years. And you know, I try to get my son involved. But I like that you do your thing we're gonna do I think that's

Unknown Speaker 8:44
right. I have a question. Yes. Um, when you are first starting off, should you stay into just being an agent? Would it be good later on to you know, expand and go into being a broker and different things like that,

Unknown Speaker 8:57
okay, so you're in a unique position. So you're going to start off as a broker. The beauty of you starting off as a broker, because it's about teaching you the business, right, teaching you the underwriting guidelines, teaching you to do's and don'ts because we're a highly regulated industry, we in judiciary, but position, we have to adhere to the underwriting guidelines that the company set forth for us, we have to make sure that these customers do fit in his boss. What I don't like to get as an insurance professional is rejected, have submitted an application and it does happen as part of the business. We try to find out exactly what's going on with the client. You know, what their concerns are what you want to cover. When it comes to life insurance protection, we're offering protection. The life insurance is like a savings account. It's a gift, a gift of love, and it's also a living benefit where your loved ones, yes, they will benefit when that time comes and it does come for all of us. But when that time comes I mean They're prepared. They're not in reaction mode. You know, they know exactly what the policy is. They know exactly who the beneficiaries are. As an insurance professional, you will start off as a broker. Now, when I started in the business back in the mid 90s, back in 96, I was what we call the captive agent. I was started with Allstate Insurance Company, I stayed there for seven years, I can only sell Allstate Insurance products and services. Now, there came times when I couldn't service a client that I had, because they had maybe underlying health conditions like diabetes, lupus, a history of cancer, and the company wouldn't write them. I will contact a broker. And I would ask the broker, can you help me with my client service my client, because this person is in need for life insurance, unfortunately, they have underlying health condition. And every single time I contact a broker, they said, Yes, we can, we can write that policy. And I said to myself, that's pretty good. Now being with Allstate Insurance Company for seven years, I was recruited to triple A insurance company, which I stayed there long enough to retire. Once I retired in 2015, then I decided to be an insurance broker, it takes a lot of experience to be a broker, or less, a broker takes you under their wings, like we're talking about wings earlier. So I'm gonna take you on my wings, so you could soar with the Eagles. Now, being a broker gives you an opportunity to service more than one insurance company. In other words, you have multiple life insurance companies, that you can offer your client. That's the benefit of being a broker. Now, being a broker, you net, you see, being a captive agent, and you can only sell that product and service that one company you represent whatever they offer, that's it. If a person doesn't fit, what their underwriting guidelines because they have underlying health condition, again, we're talking about diabetes, I didn't realize how many people had diabetes, you'd be surprised cancer, a history of cancer. It was like being a captive agent. Unfortunately, when people would underlying health conditions, they were denied coverage, they were denied coverage, I had to call a broker, the broker would place them with insurance every single time because they had all these different companies they can play some with and watch all my well known companies Prudential Mutual of Omaha, you know, I mean, the Transamerica, Lincoln heritage Life Insurance Company, senior life, the list just goes on and on. And on the companies I'm appointed with, I can find a policy we offer a whole life policy up to $35,000 in coverage, if in fact, you have underlying health conditions, diabetes, a history of cancer, and you've been turned down for life insurance, I can help you find a life insurance policy that will fit in your budget, my contact number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624, I would love to meet you, it is 2022. You know, procrastination is the worst thing we could do when it comes to purchasing life insurance. All right, I have appointments this coming next week. But people that are in their 80s that have life insurance, with the prices going up on them, and they don't quite and they're kinda like, you know, this policy started off very low. But now it's up to $400 a month. I don't know what's going on, they heard the program. And I talk about if your policy is increasing every single year on its anniversary, we need to sit down and have OB called an insurance review, a no obligation insurance review. In other words, I do not charge you bring your policy and because I cannot pull it up online. Bring your policy in, we offer no obligation reviews, when we review your current life insurance homeowners or auto insurance policy. If you have a policy that's in place, that's you know, that's I find this good, and I will tell you to keep it, keep what you have. But if we need to alter what you have, in other words, we need to make some changes, we can also do that to your insurance connection. My contact number is 702-236-2624. People say I'll set my phone number real quick, I talk fast.

Unknown Speaker 14:01
That's what I wanted as

Unknown Speaker 14:03
part of my training, but I'm gonna slow away down from our customers. Most of my clients are 55 and older. But we can serve as people that are young, young, young people too, as well. If you have a young family, and you have that young family with a couple of children, and you've just gotten married, and you have a growing family, we can help you with a life insurance policy. We offer term whole life Universal Life.

Unknown Speaker 14:25
Awesome. And I wanted to say this, it's a blessing that you guys have, you know, the opportunity where people can get a chance to if they have health, you know, really bad health situations and stuff that they could still get a life coverage because a lot of people with, you know, the underlying health conditions, they're not able to get policies and if they are they extremely high. And another good thing is for the elders, that's amazing as well. Because like you said, once you get older it goes up and it's like really good that you guys take the time to go back you know reanalyze everything and help them I mean You can ask for anything much better better than that.

Unknown Speaker 15:02
This was this is one of the questions I asked you earlier, why did you get into the insurance business? And you said you like helping people? Yes. I also liked helping people. But I knew when I became a broker, it gave me an opportunity to seek out the right companies, for my clients, my clients with underlying health conditions, like I said, the diabetes, the lupus, the cancer, if a person is on dialysis, we can get you a life insurance policy. Awesome. Something

Unknown Speaker 15:28
is better than nothing. Absolutely. I

Unknown Speaker 15:31
agree. Something is better than nothing. Now, when you receive these offers in the mail, okay, and I get offers too in the mail as well. They they target people and their work from well known companies, credit card companies, your credit unions, a lot of these policies are disguised as life insurance. What they offer you is life insurance, by the way of accidental only policies. In other words, this is an accidental travel policy that you read that oh, you know, it looked I can afford that. I can get nine that for for a little cost less than $10 a month, I can get a million dollars worth of coverage. Oh, wow. That's an accidental only life insurance and who do they target, they target the seniors. Now, it's nothing wrong with they're doing. But you have to understand you have to be able to read the contract. Understand what you're purchasing. As a life insurance professional or insurance professional, we have to understand contracts. We read contracts all the time. A life insurance is the gift of love, is to secure your family. It gives you that peace of mind knowing that when that day comes, and it does come for all of us. You're not putting your family in debt, pass known generational debt, you know, people already have debt. And why would you want to pass on that debt to your loved ones? You know, we're talking about anywhere from $15,000. And maybe even up when when you go to the people at the funeral homes, they're in business to make money? Yes, they're in business to make money. And you know, they they offer you all these. Everything's ala carte. So here's the package. You get this, this and this. And if you want extra everything, actually, you want five limos, no problem. You want roses everywhere, no problem, you want to you want a graveside on top of the hill when the sun comes up, and the sunset, no problem. All that costs extra money. But when a person you know realize the cost of all of this, they're shocked. I mean, their mind boggled by the cost of what it costs to bury a loved one, not only the funeral services, are closing out their estate to bury them. But now you have other bills, you may have to pay a mortgage, you may have to pay their rent, you have to move their furniture out of their home, maybe even pay a car payment, pay the utility bills, you may even have to take time off from work and you live in another state. All that cost someone money, so don't don't want everything. I gave a meeting to see young ladies and in their senior ladies in their 70s a couple of days ago. And and I asked him, What excuses do your has your spouse is made not to purchase life insurance? I heard everything. I don't think I need it. Why are we talking about life insurance? You know, and all the spouses that I spoke with, it was 12 of them in the room, and they're all in their 70s and three of them was the Hail Mary. And the rest of them were widows. And they all said to me, You know what, I wish I would have talked to you back then or had you wish, I wish my husband were able to talk to you about the importance of having life insurance, because when their husbands pass some when their husband passed away, it left a left him devastated financially. In other words, they had to change their whole lifestyle. They had to move out of their home they've been living in for years, and they had to move into a small condo. It devastated them financially because not only did they have to bury their loved one, they also absorbed the credit card debt. Yes, they absorbed the credit card debt. My name is Don Marquez, if you just tuning in for the very first time, this is your insurance connection. At K you have the 91.5 Jazz and more. I'm sitting here with my a new future insurance agents. He's going through the course right now, the insurance course for the state of Nevada. Her name is Paris Kennedy, and she's my special guest today. 702-236-2624. Let's review your insurances. Let's take a look at that auto policy. See if we can save money to offset the cost of the life insurance. You know, sometimes I can come bundle your auto insurance together with a homeowner's policy along with it a home and auto the renter's to give you what we call now the bundle that's a new word for it. That's the catchphrase the bundle with auto insurance we we have well known auto insurance companies progressive Safeco travelers, I mean, just to mention a few. We can place you with the companies that you fit with 702 to three 626 24 Let's start saving money it is 2022 What we can't do is procrastinate any more. You know I can remember 2021 How many you know I want to and 2021 people that are my age, people that I came in close contact with, they caught the virus, unfortunately, they passed away. You know, I, and sometimes, you know, some of these family members had life insurance, some of them did not. And when the families come to me, after a funeral after paying for it very expensive funeral, they say they don't want this to happen again. They don't want to go through the tragedy of losing a loved one. It doesn't give you time to brief parents, it really doesn't. Because you have to go into reaction mode, right? You have to go into reaction. Well, what am I do now? What Hi, My lifestyle is changing. What I'm going to do now now we all survivors out there, we're gonna figure it out. But it's a lot easier to figure out it's a lot easier to agree with the life insurance benefits. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 is my contact number. My name is Donald Marquez, along with my special guest today. Harris Kennedy, a future insurance agent at your insurance connection. You know, my location is on the corner of Sahara and Rancho in the US Bank building. Unknown Speaker 21:26
And you know how they always use the term boss up? Right? Awesome. I like this 2022 boss up, this is the real boss have to have some life insurance to make your family secure. You know, give them time to grieve and you're able to be taken care of. So this is the time you guys. It's like wearing shoes, you need it. And I'm just grateful to be here today. I just thank you. And I want to say, Donald, I mean, I really appreciate you this gentleman here. He's a mentor. I mean, he just great once I told him I wanted to come into this, this line, this life of being an agent, a broker. You know, he just took me under his wings. And he told me took me straight to the course he told me what course to go into. I mean, he was just such a great help. I mean, you're just a people's person. I love you. I love your personality. I love that you're concerned about people. And you know, that's just one of the things you just can't take for granted. When you really run into someone that cares.

Unknown Speaker 22:23
When you love what you would you do. It's not a it's not a job. It's my career. And I love what I do. I love what I do. I've been doing it for a very long time. It was my calling to be an insurance agent. This is also my calling to, to give back to my community. Las Vegas, Nevada is my hometown. I was born and raised here. I've seen this town grow from a very small town when I went to school here and I'm kind of aging myself a little bit, but it's okay. It was only seven high schools here in Las Vegas, Nevada. Looking at it now. I mean, we're pushing probably about close to 3 million people. Wow. Yeah. When I was going to school here, I mean, there was a very small town, everybody knew everyone. close knit town very small and still in a way a small town still that small town feel. But we're grown up to be a major city. Look at this. Now we have hockey, we have football. Yeah, and you know, other sports teams are probably coming in in the future. But I'm so happy to see my my community grow at and this is my give back to my community, my knowledge of the insurance business, educating you on the insurance business, making sure when it comes to your life insurance policy, you are making the right decision. When it comes to purchasing a life insurance policy. Parents, I will look at 10 life insurance policies, on reviews. And out of those 10 policies. Eight of the policies are the wrong policy for the person. Wow, that I'm talking to really what happens as you get older in life as seniors get older in life, they find out their policies get a little expensive. Now I take them out of those policies because those policies grow gradually go up in price as they get older. Now, I call these policies teaser rates in the beginning. In the beginning, the rates are low. And as you get older, like checkpoints 7075 80 and sometimes they even expire it those ages 75 and 80. Well, you've paid into the policy for a very long time, but you're still living you have out live the policy. What I do if you purchase a whole life or universal life, that will take you for all your life the rest of your life, and you will not outlive the policy you will not outlive the policy and the policy will have a cash value asset. Term is what people buy most often because it's the lowest cost insurance. But as we age term may not be the best option for you. I know these options use received in the mail, they look very attractive, but you may pick up a 10 year term policy and that great looks really good for the first 10 years. But what happens you buy the 65 You'd now use 75 You're buying insurance all over again. You're buying insurance all over again, my name is Donna Marquez, along with Paris 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 Alpha homeowners, auto life insurance. I would love to meet you. I know you listen to the program, we broadcast right here at KU V 91.5, jazz and more 8am Sunday mornings to 830 that the ones that have called me, I want to thank you again for your continued support this 2022 listeners have not contacted me now it is time, stop procrastinating. When we procrastinate, we leave so much on the table. When we procrastinate, you know, we delay and delay and delay and as we get older, now we want to purchase life insurance. Sometimes we can't get as much coverage to fit in our budget because I understand people say well, you know, I'm on a fixed budget. I'm on a fixed budget. What so am I right? I think a rich person is on a fixed budget. They are they they are everyone everyone alive is on a fixed budget. But your budget we can find a way we always find a way to adjust right now look at the gas prices, right? Gas prices are up no X no question. I mean, but we find a way to adjust ourselves around these gas prices. You know what, when I make my travels, I'm gonna do a certain day, I'm gonna go to a grocery store, I'm gonna go to the bank, I'm gonna go to see my doctor, my dentists. They're gonna do it all in one day. So you know, one day, you know hitting these different locations. So you can conserve on gasoline. You can conserve more gasoline when and when you go to the casinos and you spend your money and the drinks at the casinos. They are Oh my goodness. It's more cost effective to stay at home and have a cocktail. Go to the store, get you a 12 pack, watch the games enjoy yourself, because these casinos are charging so much money for just entertaining yourself. Yes, you know, and I know people they put money in the slot machines, they like to play the dice the cards, but think about you can use that money to take care of your loved ones. You know we can make it happen for you a small adjustment in your life is not really going to hurt your finances. But your family needs this as a gift of love. And if you do have a life insurance policy and it is going up on you, or if you've had a life insurance policy for quite some time, and you haven't had a review, no obligation reviews. In other words, it doesn't cost you any money to come see me my contact number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 My name is Donna Marquez, this is your insurance.
