Good morning Las Vegas. My name is Don Marquez, this is your insurance connection we broadcast right he had k u n v 91.5. Jazz and more Sunday mornings from 8am to 830. Welcome to my show. If it's your first time listening, I talk about insurance. I'm gonna licensed insurance broker right here, my beautiful city, Las Vegas, Nevada. And I'm proud to say I am happy to meet so many of you have come in. And we've reviewed your current insurance home auto and Yes, life insurance, it's important to have a review. Because your insurance can change as we age, especially with your life insurance. And looking at your auto insurance, let's compare rates. Let's see if we can save some money for you to offset the cost of your life insurance if you don't already have life insurance. Life insurance is something we all need. Because I hear people say all the time, if something happens to me, if I don't know what if come from. But it happens to all of us, you know, one day we have a number and a number is going to be called and we have to go, we have to leave this place and we're not coming back. No. Now some people say they are but I don't want to come back. Once I'm gone, I'm gone. But when you when you do leave, you leave a very expensive beer for your loved ones to pick up to take care of your final expenses. You know, we're going to talk more about final expenses a little bit more in the into the show, I was at the Department of Motor Vehicle. I just recently and if you are going to put the star on your driver's license, you have to May 7 of 2025 Give us so the star in your driver's license will allow you to get on an airplane, but they extended it to May 7 2025. Now you know how time goes it's got plenty of time. But you know how time goes time goes by very, very quickly. And all of a sudden you realize you know you have to get a star on your driver's license to fly. Now, if you don't have a driver's license, I believe you can also put it on your REAL ID, let's call a Real ID I don't know what makes it real is you have to have a to show proof of identification, you have to show a US passport or a birth certificate. You know, that's one form of ID along with your social security card if you have it. Now, if you don't have your social security card to show your social security number, you can use your taxes and they don't they don't care what your taxes are W two or 1099 a complete tax. And they see your social security number on that and they use that but in combination of passport, your social security number or your taxes and they really don't care what your tax ID is. And also to two bills, they want to see two bills. So you know you can use your power bill your cell phone bill showing your residency, that's what they want to see is your residency. So keep that in mind. If you you know if you have to go to the DMV to for any services, make sure you get your REAL ID the star put on your driver's license or your ID you know this news you could use from your insurance connection. My name is Dawn Marquez. My contact phone number is 70223626247022362624 located on the corner of Sahara and Rancho and the US US bank center located on the eighth floor. You know my office hours are from Monday through Friday, from 10am to 5pm. And I'm here for you 702-236-2624. Now, I know some of you, you know work during the week, nine to fivers. I get it I do work on some Saturdays so you just call me and see what Saturdays I am available some Saturdays I'm available some I'm not. However, you know, I come in and on a Saturday we take care of business I don't work on Sundays. Before we get into it I want to say congratulations to our Golden Knights. They brought home the Stanley Cup. Wow, what an amazing accomplishment what amazing year for the Golden Knights. I wasn't into hockey until I started watching the Golden Knights because you know when you watch Hockey, if you don't have a team to root for, I mean, you know, it's you know, if because you're not familiar with it, we live in a desert. And of course, you know, desert games or, you know, hockey is not one of them. You know, years ago we had a hockey team. I think it was a semi pro team came to Vegas. They didn't do too well, but, but now we have a real hockey team. And the fans are excited. I watched the game hockey game when my son was out at Lake Mead and was having, you know, having some food and was watching the game in the lounge and it was really at the restaurant. And it was really nice. It was nice. It was It wasn't that crowded. It was just enough had our food and our drinks and we cheered on the Golden Knights. Congratulations. We now we have two champions. We have the lady Asus. They won the championship last year playing basketball. And they won they brought a championship home that was in 2022 now it 2023 We have the you know Golden Knights 2023 Stanley Cup champions that is one big trophy that's I think that's the biggest trophy of all sporting events. That trophy is big enough for maybe two people to live in that get alone however, you know, it's the biggest trophy I haven't seen it now we put that puts a lot of pressure on our Raiders. Raiders. Oh, come on. What are we gonna do Raiders. Anyway, my name is Don Marquez, this is your insurance connection. We broadcast K, u and v every Sunday morning from 828 30. And welcome to the show. I'm a licensed insurance broker for auto insurance, homeowners insurance, life insurance, boat, and motorcycle insurance. Now if you have a motorcycle, and you want to compare rates on your auto or your motorcycle or your boat, let's let's sit down and do this do a bundle we can put your motorcycle in your boat on the same with the same company that give you the multi policy discount, they call it the bundle today. Or we can if you don't have a boat or motorcycle, which your home and your auto or your home and your renter's also gives you the bundle discount the multi policy discount, you know, people are looking for it at discounts all the time. You know. So this is the way to get yourself some discounts when you bundle your home auto together with one company, because a home discounts auto and auto discounts to home 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 is a lot going on in our city as always, but people are buying cars. As they're starting to warm up. It's right after tax season. People are buying cars. And when you do purchase a vehicle, you want to make sure you're not buying a car with a salvage title. I think I talked about this a little bit about this last week. And I've had people contact me and say thank you so much because I was looking at a car and it had a salvage title. Now with the salvage title vehicle, you cannot put collision and comprehensive on it. And if you buy it from out of state, you buy them buy the vehicle from out of state whether it's you know salvage title or not, you have to take it in and the department of motor vehicle and have a VIN inspection, a vehicle identification, inspection. And then you can go in along with your appointment, go into the department of motor vehicle and get your services taken care of. Now, keep in mind when you go to the DMV, you can just can't walk into the DMV and get the services taken care of you must to have an appointment. And if you need to go into the department motor vehicle, let's say you have to get your driver's license renewed, and you need to make an appointment. Give yourself some time. If you have to go in for registration, if you have to. If you just purchase the car, you have to go in and give yourself some time, because the DMV lines are long, and you're not going to be in and out real quick. You want to give yourself a little time. And also if you if your registration is coming up, or you just purchase the car, you want to give yourself some time at least 30 days in advance. If you if you can if you have to go into the DMV, whatever services you need, go online, you could find a location closest to you. And and you know you could choose your date you want to go in now if it's like okay, 30 days from now, you can always go online every day because a lot of times two people cancel or reschedule and it gives yourself an opportunity to get in a lot sooner. When you go there, be prepared because they're gonna take your money.

Unknown Speaker 9:29
And if you just move into Vegas, if you just moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, welcome to welcome to Vegas, you do have to go in and register your car in the state of Nevada now, the ruling is you have 30 days to register your vehicle in the state of Nevada. Now if you have dual residence, you have a home here in the home somewhere else across our country. You know you can have dual residence you may or may not have to register your vehicle in the state of Nevada. But most of you just come in from a different state. I'm gonna give you a heads up right now. You usually are Car insurance rates a little bit more than you're used to paying. Now we carry some high car insurance, every city has it something, this is our something, our car insurance rates are a little more than probably what you're accustomed to. Most people come from a different state think orange car insurance rates are lower than where they were paying previously. I'm gonna say that again, our car insurance rates may not be as low as what you're paying now not not to say that you should keep your car insurance at another state if especially if you don't have a residence. Because if you get pulled over with Nevada plates, and you're not going to first of all, you're not going to be able to register your car without a state insurance, you just can't. You must have Nevada car insurance to register your vehicle in the state of Nevada. Alright, so if he does move into Vegas, and you say, Well, you know, I just wait did my plates expire? People do that. But if you're driving, and you're going back and forth to work, and let's say your plates on an expired for another six or seven months, and you get pulled over. Now you're going to have out of state plates, you're going to have out of state and car insurance. And officer is going to ask you, you know, Do you work here in the state of Nevada? Do you have a different residence? They're gonna ask you to trick questions. And you know, and you're gonna say, Yes, you know, I just moved to Vegas, I work here, don't have an out of state residents. You know, I only live here, my only residents is here, you may get fined up to $2,500. Keep that in mind, you may get a ticket. I've seen tickets up to $2,500 because they have out of state plates out of state car insurance. And they've been here for over 30 days. Keep that in mind. This is news you could use. My name is Don Marquez, I'm a licensed insurance broker, auto insurance, homeowners, renters boats, motorcycle insurance, I can help you with that. Now, if you're a landlord, and you know you've just moved out of one of your residents. And now you want to rent your home out. You do need renters insurance, landlord insurance, we call it fire insurance. Now that covers the property, it doesn't cover your tenants personal property. If you are a landlord, if you're a landlord, you need to encourage tenants or within the lease contract, you can put in a lease contract for your tenants to have renter's insurance, it protects you for liability, you know, if they cause a fire on your property, instead of you filing a claim on your insurance, your landlords insurance policy, or your fire insurance policy, you could file a claim against their renter's insurance policy covers for liability. Now, with the with the landlord's policy, you're not responsible for your tenants, merchandise, their furniture, their jewelry, whatever they brought into the unit to rent from you, you're not responsible for that. Now, if you are a tenant, get yourself some renters insurance. Now your landlord may want to be added onto your renter's insurance policy. Because if there's any claims need to be filed, they could do it directly through your policy. You just you know, tell your landlord you have renter's insurance with this company. And if they say okay, I need to be added on your policy as an additional named insured, that's okay. That's okay. Doesn't cost you any more money. But it puts your landlord in a position if something happens. I'm using that word again, if something happens, they could file a claim against your policy. And let's give an example of that. Let's say you know you have a fire and you know, you create a fire and then you're in a hospital because you are injured and now and you know you're injured and you're in a hospital. But now your landlord can take your renter's insurance policy called a rent, called the company up an insurance company up and file a claim against the policy. Get your car get your home repaired. Now what's your renter's insurance? If there is a fire and you have to relocate your renter's insurance policy will pay for your relocation. It will pay for you to help you relocate. My name is Don Marquez, this is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love my city starting to get hot. We've enjoyed some nice cool weather for the first couple of weeks of June. It can stay like this as long as I'm far as I'm concerned it can stay 100 and below. It really can't I want to say Happy Father's Day to all the fathers. Mother's Day is every day but Father's Day. We don't have any games to watch. Unfortunately, no hockey to watch, no basketball to watch on Father's Day. So I hope you enjoy your father's day. You know, get out and put that big juicy steak on the grill or whatever you enjoy eating. You know, dads don't want to go anywhere. They really don't. My children, they're gonna you know, they're gonna take me out on Saturday to dinner, which is nice. It was just nice. But you know, I'd rather just stay home and spend some time with him at home. But it's okay. Okay, it's okay. We can do whatever they want because that's what they want to do. They don't want asked me what I want to do on Father's Day. You know, you notice that on Father's Day, they never, they never ask you what you want to do well, if they do more power to you, dad, but when usually on Father's Day, they're late to kids like, Hey, Dad, you know, we're gonna take you to a restaurant or, and, and you could choose any restaurant, because nobody's in there, but you

Unknown Speaker 15:19
and your family, so my children are taking me to a restaurant which is fine, I really just put some put some steaks on the grill, and we just sit back, relax, you know, enjoy and enjoy our backyard, maybe getting a swimming pool, enjoy the evening and, and that's it. But I want to say Happy Father's Day to all the fathers Mother's Day is a special day. Of course, you know, you can't get in the restaurant, you have to make reservations 45 days in advance. And that's how mother's days is but Father's Day, you can go into any restaurant. And you're going to be the only one in this the reason for that because we want to be home, relax and enjoy our home and maybe in the backyard and just you know, just absolutely doing nothing. And don't ask dad any questions. Don't ask for any money. Now on Father's Day, it should be a day where you can't ask for any money, no favors, no, fix this don't don't pick me up. Nothing, just let Dad chill out, relax. That's my suggestion on Father's Day. You know, that would be a wonderful Father's Day gifts for most, most fathers. Now, when it comes to your life insurance, and this is my favorite subject, coming down here on the air K u and v 91.5. Jazz and more. Life insurance is my favorite subject, because most of you listening to this program right now only have job insurance. Now Job insurance is okay. It is it's okay. But I've, in my experience, and I've been in the business since 1996. When people have job insurance, they are stipulations with this job policy, you may or may not be compensated if your loved one passes away, while they're still working. Now your or the compensation may be reduced depends on what the contract reads. And this is important when you go to work for a company, you need to read the life insurance contract. Because what they do, they say, Okay, you get three times your salary, whatever your salary is, and I'm gonna ask you Is that enough money to take care of your younger family if you have a young family. And let's say you make a 50 $50,000 a year, and you and your life insurance is three times that much. That's only $150,000. You know, let's break it down after paying for a funeral $15,000. Now you get to 135,000. Let's say you got to heart is $15,000. So we can reduce that down to 120,000. Now you need to, you know, you may have to pay other credit card bills off other bills taxes, you know, that eats up real fast. That's another 20,000 Maybe. And now you got 100,000. But you have young children under five years young, how long would that really last you have to be really good with money, you have to be really good with money. Now, if you are single parent, that that money will go towards someone to take care of the children for the rest of their life, that there is no other insurance. You don't have to have job insurance, it's fine. If you're not paying for it. This is my suggestion. If you're not paying for job insurance, and there's a free benefit, take it. But make sure it's not accidental only read the contract, read the contract, just don't assume oh, I have I have life insurance on my job. But read the contract or you know, have HR send you a copy of the life insurance contract. I've seen when people pass away while they're still working. And it takes it takes months to get the money to take care of your final expenses. I mean a long time and we're talking about three, four or five, and even six months. And now some of these unions do offer, you know life insurance, you definitely want to read the contract, because they minimize your benefit when it comes to your life insurance. They may say okay, you you're retired now. But your life insurance is only worth very little if you continue to make your union dues. Now some of these unions out here, once you retire, of course you're going to you're going to stop paying union dues, but they may or may not pay for your benefit and your benefit may be very low. If you are a veteran now read the veterans life insurance contracts. Now if you buy your life insurance to the department, to VA, you know to the Veterans Administration, that as you age that policy will change because they sell straight term. This re term insurance now as you age it reduces down. I think as 75 as yours. When you turn 75 years on, it reduces down to 50%. And then as you age the ad is reduced down even more I think is all the way down to maybe 10 to $25,000 But you're paying for this. You're paying for it. That's not that's not a good point. Man, you know, even $100,000 Today is not what it used to be, you know, back in the day $100,000 used to go a long way. Not today, you know, cars back in the day, three, four or $5,000 for a car, really, that's a brand new car, a house would cost you in, you know, anywhere from 60 to $85,000, those days alone. And who knows in that coming back. Inflation is on the rise, funerals go up every six months, for a service, I'm in contact with these funeral homes. And they tell me the funerals, they they charge more every six months for their services, because the prices are going up. Now we are in I don't blame inflation on anyone, it just I think people that's gonna own all these corporations, and you know, they have all these services available, just a really greedy, I'm just going to break it down like it is, you know, they have control, or they have control over the cost of what we pay for everything. You know, maybe maybe they saw one of the friends with the bigger yacht than they have, you know, and it's I gotta charge, I gotta, I gotta go up on my prices for everything. Because this guy got a bigger yacht to me or his airplane is bigger than my airplane. I'm just talking about the super, super rich people that's in control of pricing. You know, I mean, they say, a supply and demand. Okay, well have more supply? And you know, and you know, definitely, and you look at some of these by billionaires, how much money do you need? How much money do you need? I mean, for real. I mean, if you don't, if you got $50 billion, and you need more money, what's wrong with you? I don't, I don't get it, I don't get it, I don't $50 billion, you could buy most of the earth with $50 billion, you know, you can own a lot. But it's never enough is never enough. And this is why I my personal opinion, you know, the greed is out there. You know, they call it up, they say it's for because of the virus, or, you know, what maybe they're making up for, it gives me a little excited sometimes because, you know, I'm trying to help people save money on a car insurance, save money, you know, to to to function, you know, I come on the radio, because, you know, I've been doing this for a very long time, I was a captive agent with Allstate, seven years with Allstate, and then I went to AAA stay there long enough to retire. And I want to help people, I want to help people save money. And I know, juggling, you know, life expenses, is not that easy today, but there are ways to save money, you know, and we do adjust our lifestyle, but not going out as much they hit home. When we do drive, we want to make sure that, you know, we make our hit our spots, you know, so if you had to go to cleaners and grocery store, pick up the children from school, you know, just bang, bang, bang, bang, you know, and instead of going back and forth, back and forth, it used to be gas gas used to be affordable, well, you can just go well, you need to go and not even think about gasoline gasoline was so affordable. But now it's not that way, today, you have to plan out your routes. And you know, and make sure that you know, you save on your own your gas, when you go now I stretch out a full tank of gas for almost 10 days, almost 10 days, so I'm pretty good at it. Whenever I've got it down now, okay, down, when you go to the grocery store, you're gonna go to the grocery store and and get the cleaners, you know, then you're gonna hit some other places you need to go, and then you're gonna work your way home, if I gotta go to my dad and my dentist's office, my doctor's office, or bang, bang, bang, bang, and so I plan my routes and my time, so we can plan our routes and our time. But you know, this is what we have to do to save money. And in the meanwhile, when you don't have life insurance.

Unknown Speaker 23:42
And you hear these stories about people passing away, and there was no life insurance. And you ask yourself the question, well, this person, you know, they dress nice all the time, had nice cars, jewelry, you know, lived in a nice home, but no life insurance, and they left their loved ones, you know, collecting money to pay for their film, paying paying for their final expenses. I just want to ask you the simple question. Is it fair to them? You know, people are willing to pay more money for car insurance than they are for life insurance. You know, we could take away the generational debt and create generational wealth. Now life insurance and I've had people say I don't want to give anybody any money. Why not? Why not uplift the next generation? For inflation purposes. Okay, you want to? You want to uplift the next generation for inflation purposes. We can make it happen at your insurance connection. I represent 67 Life Insurance companies do our policy. You don't have to take a physical. It's a quick, easy 910 questions. That's it. We can make the policy active day 1-702-236-2624 702-236-2624 My Location is on the corner of Sahara Rancho, in the US bank center located on the eighth floor and SR and Rancho is centrally located as one block west at the i 15. Across the street, from the palace station, Hotel and Casino, I'm in the US bank center, I'm on the eighth floor our work by appointment 702-236-2624 with a life insurance policy, we can select the due date between the first and the 28th of each month. In other words, you know, you can select that due date, you know, you get paid on the first of the month, and now you want the policy payment to come out around the first or up to the fifth people do that or a lot of people like the payment that come out in the middle of the month, it comes directly out of your checking account. You don't have to worry about sending the payment in or any of that. You don't have to do any of that, you know back in the day. And I've heard stories about life insurance agents that used to go door to door to collect the premium every week. But those days are long gone. We can't do that anymore. It's too hot outside. And you know going door to door who wants to do that you don't know what the people on tonight, but that's what they used to do. I review the history of life insurance agents. And it's very interesting. Now with that being said, with the life insurance policy, we can add on a child rider as long as they're 17 years or younger, we can add a child rider onto your policy. And also if you need to accidental death, that does cover current accidents, we can add accidental death along with your policy when you pass away of natural causes. I don't like to use the word if if you pass away of natural causes, you know, but I'm gonna tell you right now, if you have an accidental only life insurance policy, it does not cover death for natural causes. I can't I can't say that enough, because talking to funeral home owners and spoke with them managers, people who run the funeral home. They tell me people come in, you know with this accidental only life insurance policy, to take care of their loved ones remains to take care of that funeral to pay for their funeral, those final expenses. And this person passed away of natural causes, let's say a heart attack or stroke, or just pneumonia. These people just pass away of natural causes not an accident. That accidental only policy does not pay out. My name is Don Marquez, I hope this is new you can use my contact number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. I encourage you to pull out your policy.
