Good morning, Sunday morning, all you listeners at K u and v 91.5. Jazz and more. My name is Donald Marquez, and this is your insurance connection. And I come on every Sunday morning from 8am to 830. And I want to thank the listeners that came in and purchase home auto and life insurance. Thank you for your continued support. And the ones that came in and you know, just have some questions to ask to help along with their policy. You know, sometimes, you know, these life insurance policies have a lot of a lot of moving parts. And they're not explained to when you first purchased them through other agents, I like to line by line, when a person purchase a life insurance policy. From me, we go through line by line to tell you exactly what the coverages are once we receive the policy. Now initiating the life insurance policy is not that difficult. You when You come into me, we sit down to find out what your needs are, let's call it needs analysis. We find out what your needs are. And we go right to it step by step now are you trying to cover a home, you have young children, you just got married. I mean, there's a lot of different ways people like to insure themselves, you know, but the most common is they want to make sure the next generation is taken care of. You know, I was reading this article by Warren Buffett. And he simply said how to stay poor watch TV for the whole day. Don't build up any hobbies, don't get any life insurance. Always stay in your comfort zone. Make sure to wait for miracles that's that's like hitting the lotto or something like that, right? blame others for your problems. This is a way to stay consistently, consistently in the same position, you're going from one generation to the next. Now if you've never received a life insurance benefit from a loved one who passed away, and that's unfortunate, and we do live while we do lose our loved ones. One thing in his life is guaranteed. I was listening to Richard Pryor the other day, you didn't ask to come here. And you just showed on when you're gonna leave. I was watching Richard Pryor last night. And he made it. He made some amazing comments. You know you because you don't ask to come in this world. You don't you just show up? And then once you don't, you know and you're gonna leave this world, that's for sure. But what what, what you leave behind as a legacy for your family to either enjoy? Or are you going to put them in a position of struggling, you know, from one generation to the next, let's change that course. Let's change the course of one generation struggling now you by getting a life insurance policy, the possibilities are endless. Just think about it. You know, if you get a large life insurance policy, let's say a 500,000 or $300,000 life insurance policy, we all gonna pass away and we pass that generational wealth down to the next generation. That's money for your children to go to college. You know, who knows, you may send a son or daughter to the to college, and they come up with a cure of AIDS or they can cure cancer. The potentials are unlimited, or you know, make up energy devices so we have clean energy. Well, that's the big thing right now with the clean energy. Electric cars are on the move. I was. I was reading an article just last month and they talked about electric cars. And Nikola Tesla made the first electric car back in early 19 hundred's and he was doing 130 miles an hour. So we should have had electric cars years ago. But in the next 20 years, you know it's all probably the majority of cars on the road will be electric. It's coming. It's coming in with a gas prices. You know, it's just around the corner. However, by passing on generational wealth, we create inventors we create business people we create a lifestyle for the next generation to appreciate to grow. Every generation should grow better than the last generation. You know when you when you look at companies like Coca Cola, although the people that created Coca Cola and they're long gone but the brand is still there. Here today with us you know Kentucky Fried Chicken that's another brand that they started that with only $105 They started Kentucky Fried Chicken What $105 investment everybody know how to cook chicken not a fried chicken I don't matter fried chicken I've tried a couple of times. Unsuccessful I'm not real good frying foods. I can grill anything. I can grill anything I'm when I say anything, anything. I mean, people come home as me you grill real good because i Master grilling. I love it. I you know I can grill a horse it'd be the best horse you ever had. And this is a really good horse. Well all seriousness, you know when you look at these companies, they're still here today. Kellogg's you know the original founders of Kellogg's cereals are long gone, but the brand is still here. Not to say that you have to be a you know multimodal like Kellogg's or Coca Cola people. But you can make a difference for the next generation. My name is Donnell Marquez, if you just tuning in for the very first time I broadcast right here K u and v 91.5. Jazz and more Sunday morning I talk about insurance. I am an insurance professional. I've been practicing insurance now for the last 28 years. Going on 28 years in May. It'll be 28 years and man the time just went by in a blink of an eye. How many times have you said to yourself you know if I did this years ago, what position I will be in today. You know we always say that what you know what have you been How to restart what a wonderful world it would be. If your life if you could start your life all over again with the knowledge you have today. With the knowledge you have today, you could take today's knowledge now you cannot move in the past. But you can move forward to secure your family's future with a life insurance policy all find a policy that will fit in your budget. Because I found expensive, very expensive. It is where you pay month to month or you can pay a semi annual or you can pay the policy in the year up. You can pay a year in advance if you'd like if you don't like monthly payments, my contact phone number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 I'm really happy to say that my son, Desmond Marquez passed the insurance test for life insurance. And now he's going on to take the examination for property and casualty so he can sell car and homeowners insurance. He's following daddy's footsteps. I've been trying to encourage him for quite some time to get his license. Because I said it doesn't I have a you know, a business here. And I would like you know, to pass it on. Not only do I talk to talk, I want to walk the walk to I want to be able to pass on generational wealth. Now being able to pass on my business and my son, you know, I want to be able to retire one day and enjoy my the rest of my life, but also want to be I don't want to give up my business. I want to keep my business going. And now my son is you know, he's got his insurance license, and he's continuing on continuing education to get his property and casualty license. And I'm very, very proud of him. And you know, he's gonna be very successful. This man could talk people out of anything. If he wasn't an attorney, and he was defending a person that killed a bunch of people on a bus leaving church, he would probably convinced the jury to let this guy go. He's very convincing.
Unknown Speaker 8:31
But that's just how he is. He's a, he's a great communicator, I wish him well and I'll teach him everything that I know. To pass now I'm not going to retire anytime soon, because I enjoy coming on the air and talk about insurance. I enjoy talking to customers I do every one is different. No one fits in the same category your needs are different than than your neighbors need. And your neighbor is not an expert when it comes to insurance, or car insurance. You know, I have people come to me well, you know, my neighbor's only paying, well what does that have to do with you? That absolutely has nothing to do with you. Because you're you live in the same zip code with your neighbor that's about and you live next door to your neighbor. That's about the only two things you have in common and you know each other number three, okay, you know each of those three things you have in common but what he pays for his life insurance or car insurance, or homeowners insurance has nothing to do with you. Even if you have the same square footage home and your next door neighbor's he has a single story you have a single story he has a two story you have a two story has nothing to do with you. Really. I mean think about it. What is it because I've had people say well, you know my neighbor, only pay someone and that's what they're telling you who knows what your neighbor is paying. But I'll treat every person different because your needs are different. Now you may want to you know I want I want to secure final expense because I I don't want anyone to have to pay for my burial, only 120 $5,000 with a life insurance, okay, we can take care of that too, as well, because these funerals today about 15 to $20,000. And people don't want to leave that debt behind. Now, if you have a car payment, you know, and you'll about $15,000 balance on a car payment. Now, when you pass away, you pass that data on. Now, if you have no life insurance, you'll pass on a $15,000 funeral plus a 15,000 balance on a car. If you don't sell it, that's $30,000 in debt, the average American leaves about $60,000 in debts behind for the next generation to pick up. This is passing on generational debt if you want to stay poor, continue to pass on generational debt. Let's turn that around. Let's make a difference. And it doesn't really cost that much money. Now we're on Mars smokers. Now. I was thinking about this on the way to to the studio today. I was thinking, you know, how many doctors do you know that smoke cigarettes? I will say that again? How many doctors you know that smoke cigarettes whether a dentist a surgeon, a neurologist, I don't care who they are, I don't know. Dermatol even a dermatologist. I don't know any doctors that smoked cigarettes. And there's a reason for that because they know the Jain danger. When it comes to smoking cigarettes and California, you cannot get menthol cigarettes anymore. They've outlawed menthol cigarettes, my understanding. Now, you know, in California, if you're a smoker in California, you have to leave Earth to have a cigarette across the state line. I mean, it's just that serious in California, you cannot smoke on the beach. You can't smoke in any restaurants. And I don't I don't want anybody smoking in the restaurant anyway. No restaurant, should you be allowed to smoke and I know we have the small casino type atmospheres here with slot machines and people like to drink and smoke. But you know what is serving food, you cannot smoke. I mean, I just allowed to be the law of the land or have an excellent ventilation system. Even with that, you know, you know, when I'm trying to enjoy my food in a restaurant, and someone is there smoking, it's just not the same. However, I'm bringing this up because I have very few smokers called me. Now, people are listening to this program, that program today, probably just woke up. But within the last 30 minutes to the last hour, and you're listening to this program, and you're having a cup of coffee with a cigarette now, with the cost of cigarettes, you know, with the cost of a pack of cigarettes, I was looking at the store the other day, pulled up to go to the ATM machine. And right next to the ATM machine in a shopping mall was one of these smoke shops. And they were advertising pack of cigarettes on sale. And to me that that was that was on sale. I don't smoke cigarettes. I never have, you know, my mother used to smoke cigarettes. And that turned me off from smoking cigarettes. And unfortunately, cigarettes cigar out. I mean, back in 2011, they did. She had all kinds of health problems and cigarettes were contributing to her poor health. But you know, she couldn't stop one because she wants to start it and I and I kind of understand nicotine is addictive. Nicotine should be against the law. Because, you know, nicotine kills about over 40,000 people a year, every single year. Now, if you had a product on the market, let's say at McDonald's, you know you ate McDonald's burgers and I mean, just use this for an example. And you know you you like McDonald's and you go to McDonald's, let's say three or four times a month. And McDonald's burgers killed about let's say 40,000 people a year would you eat McDonald's? No, you would not. And I'm not picking on McDonald's. But I'm just using that as an example. No, I mean, you know people love McDonald's. I grew up loving McDonald's. You know, as a kid, I grew up I love those happy meals and, and all the little toys were inside it and and the hope the whole, you know, the whole experience of going to McDonald's was special because the burgers were very affordable. And you know, the service is quick. And we got our McDonald's when we're young. But, but just think about it. I use that as a comparison. Because although there's not a comparison, but if you knew a product that you were, you know, taking in into your body, and it kills 40,000 people a year. Why would you continue taking that product? Now, if you smoke and you enjoy smoking, I've I had people say this is the only thing that I do. I don't drink. I just smoked cigarettes, it relaxes me. Sometimes I'm a little stressed out. I have to have a cigarette in the morning. And I give it to the people that live in the cold climates, you know, was very cold at you know, up and up. I was stationed in Michigan when I was in the Air Force. And these guys, you know, we were working on the flight line. I was in the Air Force and I worked on the flight line. You know we were refueling Large jets and, you know, carry, you know, cargo carriers and you know, they will come in and the planes would come in and we would stop them and you know, refuel them, service them do everything we have to do to get them ready to fly. But these guys, you know, it was like 20, below zero. And now this monitor cigarette, and it's funny to watch.
Unknown Speaker 15:21
When you 20 below zero or somebody, you know, at the restaurant they owe at work and it's cold outside, and they gotta go outside smoke a cigarette, and it's cold out there. So you sacrifice a lot for smoking cigarettes. But you're also sacrificing your body to as well. Now if you don't have any life insurance, and you are a smoker. Now if you don't want to stop smoking cigarettes, maybe you can reduce the cost of cigarettes by reducing what you take in instead of smoking a carton, and 10 days, maybe it's smuggled carton in 20 days, so you can afford life insurance, because the biggest pushback I get with my smokers is we you know, I know it's gonna be expensive. Because I smoke, let's sit down and have a conversation, my contact phone number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 I want to give a shout out to the ladies. I want to thank the ladies because the ladies do call me and they come in and you know, fellows are getting a little bit better. But the ladies are were the ones that contact me and say, You know what, I listened to your program on K U, K, u and v 91.5. Jazz and more. And you make a lot of sense, man, you make a lot of sense. I need to bring my you know, my husband in here. Sometimes it gets a little tough because he like I don't want life insurance. What are you gonna do to try to do kill me? I don't know, we need to stop that mentality. But, you know, they want to make sure that families is secure. Because I'm gonna say some guys just listening to the program right now believing that women outlive us by sometimes 1020 years. They out live us not it's our responsibility as men to take care of families, whether we were here or not. It is, you know, you don't want to you don't want to go go out in this world. You know, you don't want to go out in this world, leaving your family in a very difficult financial position. I mean, how would you how do you feel about that? You know, I'm talking to the guys right now. And also the ladies too. How do you feel about that now, on Wednesday, it was international, Women's Day, I want to say belated happy, International Women's Day. But I'm gonna tell you something, women are a queen's is your day, every day you give life. You give life on this world. And, and you know, you continue to give live and a lot of women, they carry a heavy burden, you know, taking care of the family, making sure everything is holy out. They take care of men, too. They make sure men are whole too, because most men are broken without a woman I'm telling you to do without your wife, you know, you probably be a mess. So they you know, when I was married, I'm a widow. Now my wife passed away a little over five years ago. And I was the recipient of a life insurance policy. But my wife changed my life totally changed my life. I mean, because, you know, it was an old not only me, it was also another person that we have to take care of each other. And it does change your life. It'll make you a better person, a better man or a better woman, because I remember when when we first got married, my wife said we need life insurance. This is way before I got into the life insurance business. And I said, well, we need life insurance because we need life insurance. And I said, Okay, so you know, eventually we got life insurance. And I'm glad we did. I am so happy that we got life insurance because it made a difference when that time came. And it comes for everyone. It's not if it's a when my contact phone number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 My name is Donald Marquez. I'm a licensed insurance broker right here in Southern Nevada, Las Vegas, Nevada. My Location is on a corner of Sahara, and Rancho and a US Bank Center. Located on the eighth floor now. People have come to see me and they've called me and they say I don't know what your location is. Almost a heroin rainbow. No, I'm one block west. The i 15 across the street from Chick fil A, and also the palace station. Now all road leads to you know, my location is right in the center of town. I wanted to be able to be in the center of town so people can come see me. I'm in the US Bank Center, located on the eighth floor on the corner, Sahara and Rancho 702-236-2624. Our work by appointment and some of you just popped up, you know, thinking that I was available, but quickly find out when I'm in the office. I'm with the client and I give him at least an hour and a half of my time, even if you don't purchase anything from me. No, no, there's no thing. I helped a young lady Wednesday. She came in. She had problems With a life insurance policy, she came in about a month ago. And she said, Well, my policy is going up on me. I'm getting, I'll be at four here pretty soon. And I just can't afford the policy keep going up. I was thinking about canceling the policy. And I said, No, don't do that. Let me review it, or review the policy, and what are sitting across my desk, I said, I need to call your insurance company. Now. It was not a policy that I wrote. It was not a policy that I wrote. But what I did, I called the insurance company. And I asked for an illustration she wants, and she said, Why are you asking for the illustration I said, because what I want to do for you is, instead of your premiums going up on his anniversary, let's get a fixed premium for the rest of your life. Now, of course, a policy did go up a little bit, but now she know what the payments going to be for the rest of our rest of her life. Now, that's better than you know, you get 8485 And then all of a sudden, you know, you still live in past 85. And now your policy is two or $300 a month. So we we kind of dodged that, because now she's paying a set price is less than $130 a month. And now she's happy because now she's gonna have a life insurance policy. She didn't have to switch that happens on occasion. Well, if I see a policy and if I can salvage your current life insurance policy, without you having to switch I won't charge you for this. For this consultation. I won't I don't charge you. And I won't try to bait and switch you. Because sometimes, you know in people's lives, your health changes you get a little older, and it is advantageous to keep your current policy that you have if you can without switching my name is Don Marquez, this is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 You know my Lakers, I watched my Lakers on television the other day and it was a Tuesday night. And Anthony Davis. Oh my goodness. He came alive finally came alive. I'm gonna like I'm a true Laker fan. Love the Lakers. They honored Paul because all they retired his number 16 Jersey right next to Kobe Bryant, another former Laker who tragically passed away way too young. I've been a Laker fan. Ever since I can remember when I was a teenager, I was I was a Laker fan. And I'm still a Laker fan. But, you know, hopefully my leg is get to the playoffs. I'm just putting that out there. Now I know some of you like a haters, but I'm a Laker fan. I like Golden State too. You know, but I want to see the Lakers do something this year. You know, but you know, we we need our own professional basketball team. Even if we had our own professional basketball basketball team here in Vegas. I think I was still like the Lakers. That's a little bit more than I don't know, we'll see what happens. But, you know, I'm ready for football to come back. You know, and we're gonna see what the new team look like what Derek Carr? Congratulations to him. He's moved on. And, you know, nothing but good success. Derek. i They should have kept you one more. Yeah, one more season. That's how I feel about that. But you know, sometimes I like to talk about other things, other insurance. You know, because I'm a sports fan. I'm a true sports fan. And, you know, I love coming on the radio, talking about insurance. But I don't want to, you know, just always insurance and car insurance. You know, there's other things that I have on my mind, I like to get off my chest and, you know, just touch the ones that you know, that listen to this program. And you may feel that have the same sentiments that I do about you know, sports or, or the things we do in life, you know, get outside take a walk the you know, according to the the weather, there's gonna be a good day. And you know, in the 70s Wow, we're in the 70s already in still, we're in March. It's gonna be a little scary. We're already in the 70s with the summer is gonna look like now if you just moved to Vegas, and you never been here for the summer.
Unknown Speaker 23:59
Wow. Are you in for a shock? No, no moving to Vegas. There's some other shocks too, especially with car insurance. I do offer car insurance, homeowners, renters? And yes, life insurance. So if you just move into Vegas, and you know and you have out of state car insurance, you cannot go register your car at the Department of Motor Vehicle with out of state insurance. Now, let's say you have this well known company and I represent well known companies as well. I'm a broker I represent multiple well known insurance companies for auto insurance, home and life insurance. But you cannot go to the DMV and say I'm with the farm. I've been with the farm for years and my insurance is an Oklahoma but I want to register my car in Vegas, and Oregon Nevada. You cannot do that. You know although you've been with the farm many many years. You know Oklahoma insurance. You cannot register your car in the state of Nevada with out of state car insurance. Now let's say you want to Register your vehicle in Nevada, but you own a home in Oklahoma or wherever you from, you own another home now you can probably get away with keeping your car registered in that state. Because our car insurance rates are a little bit higher than most people are accustomed to. I don't know why, when people move to Las Vegas, Nevada, they think the car insurance is a lot lower. There's some little small town in Kansas. I don't get it, that you come from little bitty town, mid, you know, Mid America, and you think the car insurance is going to be less here in Vegas. We're a real city now. We have over 3 million people live here in the slot machines are on all the time. 24 hours, seven days a week, the bars are open 24 hours, seven days a week you can have a cocktail in a hotel, or Casino. You know, before you have your before you have your breakfast. Now many places will do that. But here in Vegas 24/7 liquors pouring 24/7 A lot of car accidents on the road a lot of DUIs Be careful with the DUI please because if you get a DUI, you know, you know that was driving while under the influence, your life is gonna be flipped upside down. It truly is. You know, you're gonna be in a world of hurt your life's like Your driver's license will get suspended, you may lose your your driver's license for a while, because they're suspended your catholiccare and SR 22. That's a certificate of financial responsibility. You have to go to class for the DUI, you may get arrested, I mean that list just goes on and on and on. And it's gonna cost well over $1,000 When you get a DUI, so think about it when you you're drinking. Now if you have a few drinks and you you know you got the call go on a bar, say I have a limit. I'm gonna limit myself to so many drinks, because you have to get behind the wheel now if you can't not get behind the wheel, please get some type of transportation home and then get your car the next day if you can. My name is Dawn Marquez, this is your insurance connection. I broadcast radio Kate, you have the 91 Five, Sunday morning at 8am to 830. And we have other talk shows on 91.52 as well to better educate you is an educational programs. These are educational programs to better your lifestyle. So listen to the other programs, we have wonderful music at jazz and more. I started my jazz collection, listening to K u and v 91.5. We're the only jazz station in Southern Nevada, probably the only jazz station in Nevada, but I'm gonna say Southern Nevada to be to be safe. But there are other stations out there that play jazz on occasion. But we play jazz every day at K u and v 91.5. Jazz and more. It does a lot to do in Vegas. I can't understand why people say it. There's nothing to do here. You know go out to the lake. You can go out to the lake and feed the fish you can go to Mount Charleston and throw some snow balls around. I think they're gonna rebuild the rest of the restaurant in Charleston. I hope they do they burned down a couple of years back or there's a lot to do we have the Raiders we have the you know the we have hockey team. We have women's basketball we have so much to do in Las Vegas, Nevada and our weather. We have the best winters anywhere. Now the summertime if you just moved to Vegas, good luck. It's hot. It's real, real hot here in Vegas in the summertime. My name is Don Marquez my time is almost up for auto insurance, homeowners insurance. Yes life insurance boat and motorcycle insurance. The weather's nice people are gonna get in their boats pretty soon if you want to compare rates. Let's compare 702 to three six to six to four if you want to compare rates on your motorcycle 702 to three 626 24 We'll do this again next week. Until then just keep it crispy. My name is Don Marquez. Thank you for listening
