Good morning. This is your insurance connection. I'm your host, Donnell Marquez, on your insurance connection. We talk about saving money on auto insurance, homeowners insurance. Yes. And we talk about life insurance. Welcome to the show.
Unknown Speaker 0:52
My name is Dan Marquez, welcome to another edition of your insurance connects and broadcasting right here at K u n v 91.5. Jazz and more Sunday morning 8am to 830. Every Sunday, broadcast right here at the studio for you to learn more information about insurance. You know, I love to talk about life insurance is my favorite subject, however, is as an insurance broker for auto insurance, homeowners, renters, boat, and motorcycle insurance? Yes, I do. And I've been doing this for the last 28 years in a beautiful city, Las Vegas, Nevada. And I want to thank the listeners that came into my office and purchase home auto life insurance. And you know, thank you so much for your continued support, I come on the radio to educate you about insurance. And, you know, I want to thank, you know, the management and staff over here at K u and v 91.5. To allow on this opportunity for me and my engineer, Wes. So I can come on and talk to you about your insurance. And you know, people have come to me. And they listened to the program. And they concerned about their life insurance. And they said, you know my policy is going up. And I don't I don't understand why my policy is increasing. I've had my policy for the last 10 years, or sometimes even the last five years, and they see an increase in the life insurance policy. There's a reason for that you purchase it what we call a flexible life insurance policy. In other words, premium flexible, your premium is flexible, and a period of years now, it may be the first five years or maybe the first 10 years. Or if it's a term policy, it could be for the first 20 or first 30 years, your policy will adjust. If this is happening to you. This is why it's important to have a sit down and we have an insurance review, to review your coverages to review your policy to see why suggesting now sometimes, you know, people do have underlying health conditions after they purchase a life insurance policy. Now, if we can, we can get an illustration from your current life insurance company. If this is affecting you, Yo, you took out the policy years ago. But now you develop let's say diabetes, or lupus history of cancer, within which you know you took out the policy you were healthy. But now you have underlying health conditions. And it's not really advantageous for you to shop for another insurance policy because this one has a higher limit to liability. I'm excuse me high limits the coverage is same thing, but you have higher limits of coverage. And if you want the underlying health conditions, it may or may not allow you to get a policy equal to the face amount. But this policy as time goes on, we can do is contact your current insurance company and see if we can get an illustration of a premium that set for the rest of your life. Now, if we can't get you a new policy, this is an alternative to try to salvage the policy you have now. So we will not keep increasing on you, let's say every year or every five years. So we get a set premium for the maturity of the policy using the maturity of the policy is to age 100. In other words, if your policy is adjusted on you, you know annually and you've seen this increase. Let's have a review. My number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 My name is Donald Marquez, I'm a licensed insurance agent and I love to meet you. I love what I do. You know I've had other careers other than the insurance business that was years ago I worked in casinos. I worked construction in the Air Force working on airplanes, did all those different things in my life, but I well other than working on airplanes, I do enjoy working on airplanes. I've even flew airplanes for a little while going to pilot school, but I really enjoy being an insurance agent. First of all, I'm grounded And I'm not working outside in the weather. When I was in the military, I worked on aircraft, sophisticated aircraft or KC 135 tanker, if you're not familiar with that aircraft is air for air refueling. So well you do put a lot of gas on this airplane, it's called JP four. And it this airplane takes off from the runway. And it refuels other airplanes in flight, very interesting to watch the done. It's amazing. So they dropped the boom and the other planes come up, they fill them up, and other planes take off and there and the KC 135 aircraft that I was working on, it comes back to the base, or go to another base and get refilled and the cycle keeps going on and on. Because a lot of these, especially the fighter aircraft, they can't stay in the air too long. by 45 to 50 minutes, maybe, then they have to get refueled. But, you know, I enjoyed that career in the military. And I want to thank all our veterans, for what they do to keep our country safe. Thank you so much for your service. You know, you do sacrifice as a veteran, you're away from home a lot. You're away from your family a lot. But you're here to serve your country, but the uniform on it means a lot to me. And, you know, all my veterans that I speak to it means a lot to them as well. You know, about serving serving in the military, we're gonna regardless of what branch you're in, I know a lot of times we like to fight, you know, have tongue you know, tongue fights, among military branches. You know, if you're in a military, Indian Army, and I say on the app was I that's not really serve. And that's just like working at an airport. Or if you're in the Navy, you know, we just go back and forth with each other. It's all good. It's all fine. We all on the same team. But other than, you know, working on aircraft, you know, I enjoy what I do as an insurance professional, I really get to meet people, I'm, I'm a problem solver. I like to sit down with you and your family. To make sure this you're making the right decision when it comes to life insurance. It's a very important purchase. Everyone needs life insurance. Everyone needs life insurance. If you don't, you don't think you need life insurance. You know, if you have, you know, if you if you have ever paid for a burial, if you ever paid for a loved one, you know, you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's not inexpensive these days, it's very expensive these days to bury a loved one. And the prices at the funeral and the mortuaries the funeral homes, they go up every six months. Now, why our price increase, maybe have to change cars, staff pay rent, maybe the cost of you know, whatever the materials they use to prep the remains may have have increased over time, everything has gone up. I mean, everything. So why not protect yourself, you know, we do make adjustments all the time. And like I made adjustments I don't I don't go out as much as I used to. I stay at home, entertain myself at home, I find ways to entertain myself at home reading the book. You know, catching up on a little interesting television, I love the History Channel. I cook at home water instead of going out to many different restaurants. I used to go out to restaurants all the time. And you know, growing up in Vegas, it was almost a one time in Vegas. And I'm going back a few decades, Okay, a couple of decades anyway, it was it was less money to go out to eat and it was to go buy groceries. Especially if you were single, it was less it will cost you you get more out of going out to eat more food. I mean, you can eat going out almost daily. And we saved money versus buying groceries because you had to go buy the groceries cook, you know clean up. I even cook at home now you know and I don't mind cooking, but it's the cleanup. Oh my goodness. But you know what I'm talking about. So I've made adjustments in my life. With the gasoline prices and the prices of groceries. You know, I've made adjustments, you can also make adjustments as well. You can get a life insurance policy, don't think you can't get a life insurance policy. It is within your budget, we'll find a policy that will fit in your budget.
Unknown Speaker 9:07
You make a monthly draft read directly out of your checking account. Every single month, you pick the due date between the first and the 28th we can make it happen for you. Now, let's say you know if you do have underlying health conditions, we do have a policy for you. And the people with underlying health conditions maybe you know you they have a family member with Alzheimer's or dementia, alcohol or drug abuse or even complication of diabetes. You know now if you are a regular diabetic, you know we do have options for you as a diabetic. If you type one type two diabetes, we do have a policy for you. If you have lupus, we have a policy for you as well. If you've been turned down for life insurance do not give up. Now if your children are 17 years or younger, we can add them on as a child writer. When they turn 25 years young. They can spin off on their own life insurance pa policy will mail the policy directly to you. Now, if you need to borrow money from a life insurance policy, a whole life policy, or a universal life insurance policy, there is a method to borrow on the money. When you purchase it, when you purchase a life insurance policy that builds cash value, and you've had your policy for quite some time, you do have an option to use the value in within the policy. It's automatic, kind of like a savings account within your life insurance policy to borrow from when things come up, or emergencies come up. The reason why the cash value is there for a lot of different reasons. But one of the main reasons is keep your policy active. In other words, as you age, and sometimes you know, you get older because you purchased a policy long time ago. And instead of your policy increasing, they will take money from the cash value every single month. Because now that you're older, you're in your 70s going into your 80s, they'll use a cache value to substitute for the premium that you should be paying. Now the premium that you should be paying is not enough on the monthly premium. And let's say for example, you're paying $75 per month for your $100,000 life insurance policy for an example. But that's not enough, however, you have about $10,000 worth of cash value. In your life insurance policy, you haven't borrowed any money against the policy, but Japan $75 a month, but the real premium is about $125 a month roughly, to keep your policy active, they'll take $50 a month from your cash value to offset the cost to insure you. This happens all the time with insurance companies. This is why you have a bank. Or if you borrow money from your bank, your cash value, it may not be enough money to take care of your monthly premium. If you bought a flexible policy with flexible premiums, I get calls about these all the time. Why is my insurance going up now paying people that, of course I didn't sell a policy to I want to clear that up. But they call me up and I've heard you on a radio Donald Marquez and I want to know why my insurance policy is going up because the person that sold me the policy is now retired, or you know they've moved on with their life in a different career. This happens quite often. However, there are policies out there that don't adjust at all. If you have a term life insurance policy, it will stay the same for the life of the policy, in most cases now mostly leave a little wiggle room for myself there. In most cases, because I've seen even term life insurance policies increase while during the term, they increase during the term. So you bought a five year adjustable term policy or a 10 year adjustable term policy. It could adjust on you now know a lot of this, you know, wow, it's a lot. It's a lot of moving parts to life insurance it is. This is why we need an insurance review. My number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 my location is on a corner, Sahara Rancho. In the US Bank Center, located on the eighth floor, I'm available Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm 702. To 362624 My offices on the eighth floor. Usually when people come into my office, the first thing they notice is view. That's it. Wow, what a beautiful view you have. That's amazing. I have four large windows in my office you can see the stratosphere all we pass the stadium, you can see the Las Vegas Strip. It's a beautiful view expressly at night. Now at night. I'm not usually there that much. But every now and then especially this time of the year, people get off from work and say you know what, I can't come see you during normal business hours, cannot see you after business hours, like let's say six or seven o'clock in the evening. And I will accommodate you. I have 24/7 access to my office. But usually I like to get out you know, but you know, within my business hours I like to get out at least by five o'clock because the traffic is is even at five o'clock. It's pretty bad on the I 15 heading so 702 to 362624 I can help you put together a final expense life insurance policy for those loved ones with underlying health conditions. We're talking about lupus, diabetes, a history of cancer, a stent in the heart, taking blood thinners, kidney liver disease, we can get you a life insurance policy. As long as you have over 12 months to live. Do not give up something is better than nothing. You know the average debt in this country when a person passes away is about $60,000 debt left debt behind for loved ones to pick up and pay for those final expenses. You know, you got to pay for a funeral that's about 15 to $20,000. Now if you A veteran, they will bury at the Boulder City cemetery plot is no charge to the family. And the headstone is no charge to the family, only only at Boulder City Cemetery. I know these other cemeteries, they do offer a veteran section. But you have to pay for those only at the Boulder City Cemetery with the DD 214 in place. So what we need to do is this, expressing my veterans and everybody does listen to the program right now. We need to get our house in order, it's 2023. No longer we're gonna kick the can and say, well, I'll do it next week. I'll do it next month. I don't want to talk about it right now. Let's get our house in order. Let's put our paperwork together with so our family members and they know exactly what bank accounts you have. What's your bank account numbers? It no one has on your bank account. And your intentions are when you pass away. Okay, my family members they can they can get the money out of the bank to take care of whatever they need to take care of. But if their names are not on the accounts, how are they going to do it? How are they going to do it now you get a death certificate, they get a death certificate, you know, maybe they can do it that way. There's a lot of a lot of hoops they have to jump through. But it's better to get your house in order. It is better to have a loved one on as a rightist survivor on your property. Now we have a team member, Christine Barnard, she is a team member at your insurance connection. She can help you to add a person on the deed of your home. Now they cannot sell your home. They cannot take a loan out of your home. They're just in a benefit beneficiary position to inherit your home. When that day comes. And it comes for all of us. It comes with all of her name is Christina Banaras. She is a team member at your insurance connection. If you get a speeding ticket, and you haven't made arrangements with the court yet to pay it, she can get it reduced down to a parking ticket in most cases 702-236-2624 as my contact phone number. Yes. When when you receive a speeding ticket. And when your policy renews once a year or every six months, the auto insurance companies will review your driving history. And if you have a speeding ticket on there, your rates could increase by by going through Christine, if you haven't made arrangements already to pay for the speeding ticket or if you haven't paid for the speeding ticket, she can make arrangements for you to get there reduced down to a parking ticket. So when they do run your driving record when your policy or auto policy renews, then they won't see that, that you do have a speeding ticket it will be reduced down to a parking ticket. Parking tickets do not come up on your driving history. They do not come up on your driving history. If you've been in an accident, for whatever reason on your auto insurance, with your auto and you know, with the auto contact your auto insurance immediately, do not procrastinate. That weakens your case. When you procrastinate. I know people in auto accident. They were rear ended. And it's been two months and I haven't called my insurance company but my back is sore. Why are you waiting so long, it weakens your case. It weakens your case. So call them within 24 to 48 hours when you are in a car accident. But getting back to the life insurance concerns that I have. You know people don't understand how it works. When you when you lose a loved one with no life insurance, you understand that part? Because now you don't have time to grieve. You have to go into business mode. I mean, you lose your mother, your grandparents, your brother, your sister, your spouse, you don't have time to grieve because now you got to figure out how am I going to pay for this very expensive funeral. Now people have an alternative these days they will do cremation.
Unknown Speaker 18:47
Now you quickly find out cremation is not as cost effective as you may think it is. Now with the ceremony, they have to have to prep the body. They have to do what they have to do to rent a casket. I mean, they have the ceremony, and that can run from anywhere from six to eight to $10,000 Just that alone. And then you need a Crip to put the earnings. Right I mean that's another maybe 45 to $4,500 Who knows. I mean all of a sudden you know cremation now is up to you know $14,000 That's not hard to do. When you're talking about the limos, the services, the spread, you know this the flowers spread. I mean they charge for everything in these funeral homes and people coming out going to these funeral homes with no money to bury their loved ones they quickly find out you know what no life insurance they quickly find out that wow you know, my dad my mom, they did me like this you know, they put me in this position. Do not put your family members in this position. We can get you a whole life policy up to $35,000 in coverage with underlying health conditions. Again, lupus if you're overweight, and you've been turned down because your weight, we don't ask height and weight on A $35,000 whole life policy, there is no health examination to apply just a few health questions I ask the yes or no answers. There is no health examination. And most people qualify even when health issues. And even with a diabetic or people with lupus, I've insured them. Day one. There's no two year waiting period. Not in all cases, not in all cases. But in many cases, I've insured people day one, my name is Donnell Marquez, if you're just tuning in for the very first time, this is your insurance connection, we broadcast right here at K und 91.5 Jazz and more Sunday mornings from 8am to 830. Every Sunday morning, from 8am to 830. You know, most people qualify even with health issues for this policy, you know, rates and benefits are locked in for the life of the policy. And also you can get accidental death benefits available to with this whole life policy. In other words, you get the whole life product, along with the accidental death benefit as well. Now, a lot of you listening to this program, have only accidental life insurance. Acts accidental only life insurance think about what that says it says accidental is not going to pay for natural causes. Heart attack, or accidental only will not pay for a heart attack. If you have a stroke and pass away, accidental only he's not going to pay for a stroke. And you pass away. You know, accidental means what it says accident, think about how many people you know have died from an accident. And the family was given an accidental only policy benefit. I give you time to think about it. I give you a lot of time to think about it because I don't know anyone in my lifetime has passed away. And accidental only life insurance policy has paid as an insurance professional for the last 2728 years gone. I'll be 28 years this year in in the in April 28 years in this business and APR and 28 years I've no of no one has passed away. And I accidental only life insurance policy have paid out. I mean, really, I mean you paying for this life insurance that don't exist. I mean, if you unless you die for no accident, and then they can even dispute that. Really, you're just throwing your money away every month, you need a real policy. Now these companies they offer these accidental holdings all the time, they sit them in the mail and he was like wow, this came from this company or this credit union and you put your faith in these corporations, you know, they know exactly what they're doing. They're targeting 60 and older people with these policies because they know that they haven't bought anything. They don't have a life insurance policy now that they you know, they live on a tight budget. Everybody lives on a budget. Even a millionaire lives on a budget. You know they do. But you know what? I said okay, I'm gonna put this in the mail. And you know, let's say Joe senior or, you know, Mary senior, you know, when it comes to their dress, it's like, oh, wow, this is from a well known company, and accidental only and dismemberment policy. Let me sign up right now, because I didn't get a million dollars for less than $20 a month that don't make sense. It's not going to happen. Because you're not going to pass with an accident. Most people don't. And every blue moon that does happen, but you have to do extreme activities to pass away from a car accident or a any type of accident if you Jane climbing the mountains, and you slip and fall, you know that's an accident or you know, I don't know, you maybe you parachuting in the in the parachute don't deploy, and you've you know, slammed to the ground. You know, that'll probably pay Oh, if not, if it's not excluded. I don't know. You know, when you have an accident only life insurance policy, you really have to review it, you have to sit down and all life insurance policy needs to be reviewed, I can help you review your current life insurance 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 $35,000 You may not seem like a lot of money. But for people that have underlying health conditions, history of cancer, lupus, if you have you're taking cancer treatments, and you and your you know you have more than 12 months to live, even if you're taking chemotherapy, right. And you stage one, stage two, with more than 12 months to live we can get your life insurance policy. If you have family members with Alzheimer's dementia, don't give up we can get your life insurance policy at your insurance connection. I'm an insurance broker. I do not charge for my fees. When you come in to see me there is no fee when you come in to see me. Well, I'll sit down I'll listen to what you have to say. What I want to know is what medications you're taking, what type of underlying health conditions you have, you know even if a person is overweight, you know, they, you know their concerns are about their weight. We can get you a life insurance policy with this policy. We do not ask how much you weigh, how tall you are now or if you're a cannabis smoker and you only smoke cannabis. You know you can be insured and not as a smoker. By the way, where are my smokers? My smokers never call me. I never get calls from smokers. And I guess everybody listening to this program, do not smoke. Okay, I'm convincing it by now. I've been on there now almost two years at OVS K UMB. And I have not yet had one smoker call me for life insurance policy. Now I probably get smokers for auto insurance because we do offer auto insurance at your insurance connection. Again, we offer Auto Home Life renters boat motorcycle insurance, but you know for life insurance. And I've been doing this a very long time we get very few smokers, columnists, you know, if you lighting a cigarette right now listening to this program, you know, we need to get some life insurance. If you have COPD emphysema, a disease of the liver or kidney had an organ transplant, don't give up we can get your life insurance policy, you know, heart disease, including heart attack, heart surgery, or congestive heart failure. I can get you a life insurance policy. Even if you have HIV or AIDS, I do have companies out there will insure you. But you have to be 40 years young and older. If you have HIV or AIDS now people are living longer. With HIV and AIDS, they are living longer. And I don't quite understand why more insurance companies won't insure people with AIDS or HIV, because people are living longer, you know a lot longer. I mean, I remember when Magic Johnson announced that he had the virus. Look at Magilla great, and that's been many, many years ago, and he's still around doing his thing. Again, maybe in the future, they will change their idea about insuring people with HIV or AIDS. But you know, I do have a few companies that will is your people with HIV or AIDS, as long as you're 40 years young and older. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 no health examination of the $35,000 in Whole Life coverage. Most people qualify for the coverage even with health issues, and rates, the benefits are locked in for life. In other words, as I spoke earlier in the conversation, there are policies out there that are just as you get older, but this one will not. Rates and benefits are locked in for the life of the policy 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 My name is Donna Marquez. I go outside and look at the snow on the mountains that are covered. It is beautiful. You know a lot of snow will melt into the ground. And a lot of it too, will end up in Lake Mead. We need all the water we can get at Lake Mead. But I understand you know the rock is where we get a lot of our water from that goes to Lake Mead. They have you know they have a nice snowpack this year in the Rockies cover in Colorado. And hopefully that water will spill into Lake Mead and in replenish our lake 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 glass I'd have to have a walk today take a nice little walk. You know eat healthy is 2023 We need to change our lifestyle a little bit get yourself some life insurance we need to get everybody insured because you don't want to go to the funeral home and pay for this very expensive funeral and drain your savings account out. pull money out of your 401 K you know go into debt and max out your credit cards. This happens every day. Every day
