Good morning. My name is Don Marquez. Welcome to another edition of your insurance connection we broadcast right here at K you in the 91.5 Jazz and more Sunday mornings from 8am to 830. Welcome to the show. And I want to thank the listeners that came in to purchase the home auto and life insurance. Thank you for your continued support. Last week was Mother's Day and I hope Mother's Day mother's celebrated their day special hope they went out to dinner and went out dancing and just having a wonderful time. Mothers are appreciated. We do appreciate you all the time. You know, I was listening to some song about mothers right before last week, Mother's Day. And all the sounds are really great about mothers, you know, talking about how much they love. I love my mom. And there's there's another by Tupac. You know, my mother. I forget the name of it, but it was a mother's song. And but when it comes to dads and their songs, you know, Papa was a Rolling Stone. So we don't have many songs like the mothers have. But Mother's Day is continuous throughout the year but they have beautiful songs singing by moms. I always love my mom. And you know, and I always will or my mother's in heaven. And you know, and we honor them all the time. We honor the dads too, as well. Both my parents are deceased, and we continue to honor them I'm enjoying this time of the year we have a great basketball tournaments going on in Vegas. I hear we're doing some of the things that excited in the town we can they're going to tear down and Tropicana hate to see it go. I've been there many times go over there watch the tribute to preparation show. I don't know what they're gonna do. But it's gonna be a baseball field over there. Now to my understanding. And you know, Vegas is growing. I grew up in Vegas. This is this is my hometown. I watched it develop over the years. And it's truly remarkable. Where it started from when I grew up. I grew up there was only seven high schools. You know, UNLV was called NSU Nevada State University. And now look at it today you want to UNLV is amazing campus and I do want to thank Dr. Ridley for this opportunity to come on the air and talk about insurance. And also my my engineer West Knight. He keeps he keeps me on time and keeps us rolling. Right now we're gonna get into insurance. I am an insurance professional. I come on the air every Sunday morning from 8am to 830. To educate you, our listeners at 91.5 Jazz and more about insurance now you pay for insurance you must you have to know what's going on with your insurance. I do offer no obligation insurance reviews. In other words, you can come to my office to have a sit down and we'll discuss your current insurance coverages. And don't think you always good you know there's times when you're not good. You can look at your insurance policy and you know, and it's it's a lot of moving parts with insurance and you have to understand what these coverages mean or what are you paying for. This is why I offered no insurance obligations. My contact phone number is 70223626247022362624 My name is Dawn mark as my location is on the corner of Sahara and Rancho and the US bank center located on the eighth floor, very easy to find all roads lead to Sahara Rancho, across the street from the palace station Hotel and Casino. But you know I may be busy on a Sunday I try to relax and enjoy myself but every every on occasion I know people work sometimes nine to five Monday through Friday when they can't make my business hours, wherever I will work on a Saturday 702 to three 626 24 All roads lead to Rancho Sahara across the street from the palace station Hotel on one block west at i 15. Chick fil A is also across the street, you can't miss it. US Bank Center. My name is Don Marquez, this is your insurance connection. Let's get right into it. Let's go. Had a call last week. You know and people didn't know what to do. So they call me about a life insurance policy. What they wanted to know they lost a loved one they wanted to know because they use a life insurance policy at the at the funeral home, what is the procedure how to what is the step by step procedure. When it comes to the life insurance now they thought, Okay, we will we'll call the insurance company the life insurance company. And then they all send the money to the funeral home doesn't work that way. This is how it works. When you have a life insurance policy and you lose a loved one. Alright, and you are the primary beneficiary you must be the primary beneficiary not a contingent but the primary beneficiary can only go on to the funeral home with the policy. Or if there are multiple primary beneficiaries, they go into the funeral home, you lost your loved one. And they present the life insurance policy to the funeral staff, they will look they will call the life insurance company to make sure the policy is accurate. That's the first thing they're going to do. They're going to look at the policy. If it's accidental only, they'll let you know this policy is no good because your loved one passed away of natural causes to their understanding. However, if that's not the case, it was not an accidental only life insurance policy, they will call the life insurance company. Make sure the policy is active. In other words, your payments are paid up. What they'll do at the funeral home, they'll take their proceeds out of the policy, regardless of the face amount of the policy, as long as you have enough to take care of the funeral services. Now of course, these funeral staff they will show you different plans, they have to put your loved one to rest, you know, I know it is an emotional purchase. So you don't want to go overboard if you don't have to. But they'll show you the different plans. Now if the plan adds up to let's say around $15,000. A little bit more than that. They'll take the proceeds out of the policy. Let's say for an example your policy is worth $50,000. Okay, your policy is worth $50,000 your loved one is has deceased, you're the primary beneficiary. They'll take the 15,000 or more out of the policy, then you will find an additional claim with the life insurance company once you receive your death certificate. Once you receive your death certificate now you may or may not need the death certificate. However, once the life insurance company do receive the death certificate in case they do need it, then they'll send you the money for the balance on the policy. So for an example, the policy is 50,000. The funeral costs 15,000 That leaves a balance of 35,000 you will receive that $35,000 In your name as a tax free benefit. For more information. My name is Dawn Marquez, this is your insurance connection. My phone number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 If you're just tuning in for the very first time I've been broadcasting radio K you have the 91.5 Jazz and more for now a little over two years. And I do appreciate the listeners that to support the radios, my radio program and come in and purchase home auto and yes life insurance. Life insurance is very important for me to talk about. I mean we all have auto insurance if you're driving. We have renters and homeowners insurance, you should have renter's insurance if you're a renter by the way, or if you're a landlord listening to this program, your renters should have renter's insurance. And we can help you with that if your tenant need renter's insurance or you need landlord's insurance. But when you when it comes to life insurance, this is this is what I see most frequently. People just don't have it. When you retire from your job. You know you have life insurance while you're working. But when you retire from your job you'd like okay, I'll continue this policy. So long, it gets very expensive. And eventually you do drop it, you're getting older, and especially now you you're in your mid to late 50s, going into your 60s or 70s, with no life insurance. You know, we just had a Mother's Day just this weekend. And I encourage my listeners to talk to your family members about their life insurance policy, talk to them, whether they have a policy or not. And and sometimes you you may get a pushback from the especially from you, they're, you know, I don't want to talk about that right now. But say that, you know, a life insurance costs about $15,000. I mean, a funeral cost today about $15,000. Dad, you know, I just want to make sure that if you do have a life insurance policy, we know where it is. So when that day comes, it comes for all of us, you know, I want to make sure that we can take care of your final expenses there. For mom, you know, because this is an important conversation to have with your family members, because you listening to this program right now could be the responsible person that will take care of your family members. final expense, that's a very expensive, you know, final expense to $15,000 or more, that's going to continue the debt that you already have increased the debt that you already have. If a person, your loved ones don't have a policy, that's not gonna happen, you know, the continuing cycle of losing loved ones with no life insurance, put your family members in a lot of debt, we can help you at your insurance connection. I'm a licensed insurance broker, I represent multiple life insurance companies. And I added to it about 60. So I'm appointed with, however, only use about probably about 10 companies that I use on a regular basis. Because I know their underwriting guidelines, you know, and sometimes, you know, people do apply for life insurance, and they get a bad taste because you've been denied. When you are denied a life insurance do not give up. There are policies out there for you know, people with a history of lupus cancer, diabetics, I didn't realize how many diabetics they were until I sell it start selling life insurance. There are a lot of you out there with diabetes, and you don't take care of yourself. No, you're drinking a lot of you know, you drink and eat sweets. And you know, you can you can change your eating habits a little bit. You know what I like to do in the morning when I get up. I blend, blend carrots, spinach, apples, grapes, a lot of blueberries. You know, I put all that in there with a little guava syrup. And wow, that's my drink. That's my breakfast in the morning. And sometimes my lunch. But then at the end of the evening, when at the end of the day, I will have me a nice dinner. But stay away from now the fat the fatty stuff is much as I can every now and then I do like my fried foods. But I do all that in moderation. Because you know, as we age in life, I'm a senior citizen as well. And people call me up saying, you know, I've seen Oh, yes, I am. I am a senior citizen. And I told you earlier in a conversation. I remember when Vegas only has seven high schools. So that makes me I'm a baby boomer. However, you know, when you eat and you know, and you're gaining weight as we age and life, you gain weight, you're not exercising, you know, and you should exercise you should get up, you know, at least three days out of the week. Walk walk in your neighborhood, I have a treadmill and I get on my treadmill and I'm walking I listen to my radio, okay, your V 91.5 Jazz and more when I'm on my treadmill in the morning, but it's kind of boring on the treadmill. Now what I've been doing lately, because I walk about four days a week in my neighborhood, I just get up early in the morning before it gets too warm. And I walk my neighborhood. I have different routes at times to change it up a little bit. But you know, when I'm finished my walk I'm a little exhausted. I drink a nice cool, you know a bottle of water, but I rehabbed out rehydrate and I'm good to go and you can also do the same thing health as well. You know we all going to age in life. We all going to age is what you do with the aging process. You're gonna let the aging process process you or you can do something about it. You know you can do something about it. A healthy body is within your grasp. You know to eat change your eating habits, sodas, oh my god, I stopped drinking sodas. And I probably lost about two inches in my belly. I'm a 34 and I was pushing it 36 Because I like seven up and with Mexican food Spanish food I love a Coca Cola is something about Spanish food must have a Coca Cola. I mean tacos. Oh, I have that with Coca Cola. But now they have coke zero which is I'm so glad to do.
Unknown Speaker 14:48
Because every now and then I will go get me some tacos and I have to have that Coca Cola with that taco. But these are habits that we've had for many years. I'm a lot more conscious now. Get a lot more greens. And you can do the same thing. You know, when it comes to life insurance. There's a contributing factors we look at as insurance professionals, we look at your height, your weight, at times, on certain policies, and also your history of medicines that you're currently taking. Now, most of us over you know, certain age seniors, we all own blood pressure meds, that's okay. We all know cholesterol meds, and that's okay. But if you own other medicines, like you know, blood thinners, and you've been turned down for life insurance, I can I can get you a life insurance policy. I know a lot of you were blood thinners, because that's related to the heart that you apply for life insurance. And I said thank you, but no, thank you. Or if you get these guaranteed issue, offer life insurance policies, guaranteed issue, that means they will give you a policy, and what they'll do that so okay, you have 20 units of life insurance senior citizen, you have 20 units of life insurance, but what that really means is, you only have about four or $5,000 worth of real life insurance. This is why it's important to have an insurance review. Now I don't offer those type of life insurance policies 20 units to mean means you have you should have $20,000 worth of life insurance. But this is not the case, there are companies out there will offer you 20 units of life insurance. And you in your mind, you said you know that's at least $20,000 with the life insurance. It's not. It's not that not the payment is attractive, but you own your face amount of life insurance policy is low. The policies that I do offer, I go over the insurance, the face amount, the cost, everything line by line. Now, if you need that final expense, life insurance, that final expense life insurance, because you've been turned down or you just you don't want to do the health exam, we have benefits that are paid within 24 hours, a whole life policy up to $35,000. In coverage, there is no health examination to apply just a few health questions. This is real easy. And height, weight doesn't disqualify you because they don't ask the question. How tall are you? Uh, how much do you weigh? That is not on the application for qualifying, most people qualify even what health use
Unknown Speaker 17:15
rates and benefits are locked in for the life of the policy. In other words, the policy base amount will not go up or go down, or the premium won't go up or go down. It is locked in for the for the life of the policy, the life of the policy of the agent 100 Have you lived to be 100. And this is the only covenant that will do this, you they will send you the face amount of the policy minus any loans. Now if you don't have any loans, though, they'll send you the face amount of the policy up to age one at age 100. Now, if you do pass away before age 100, and most of us we'll you know, your beneficiary will receive that, you know, benefit by way of filing a claim to to the life insurance company with the death certificate. Now, in most cases, if you're going through this process right now, the life insurance companies will not accept a copy of the death certificate. So you want to make sure that you get enough copies when you are putting your loved ones to rest that a funeral home do offer death certificates. And you can purchase more more death certificates. Now with the par with the plan they have, it may already come with one or two death certificates. But what you want to do is get at least five and why you need at least five death certificates, maybe even more. Now when I lost my loved ones, I got eight death certificates. Because I have to I have to send the death certificates to the mortgage company. I had to send death certificates to the banks and they had multiple banks. So this is the reason why you want multiple death certificates. And now it was a car payment. Now if I had to make a few car payments, I sent the death certificate in so I could change the title when that when when my loved one passed away. I had to you know go to the DMV with the department of motor vehicle with the death certificate to change the title information on the title. So you have to think how much business this person has and what to do step by step. Now we have a team member Her name is Christine Bodnar. She comes on the show from time to time I'm gonna try to get her on the show next week. She is a paralegal. She is a team member of your insurance connection. Her name is Christine Barnard. She has services she can help you with a Will she also have power of attorney for medical and financial power of attorney. She can help you with that last will and testament and also a promissory note. Also if you have a speeding ticket she can help you get it reduced down to a parking ticket. Christine phone number is 702857 44 01 Again, is 702-857-4401 Christine butnot, a team member of your insurance connection, and she's also a traveling notary, you know, and I try to bring people on the show and work with individuals that can help my insured customers. I do offer auto insurance, homeowners, renters, boat, motorcycle insurance, and life insurance, I sell more life insurance and motorcycle boat or auto insurance, but I do I represent premium companies, I'm on the radio, I can't take any chances with companies that I wouldn't sign up with. And I certainly wouldn't take any chances with you signing up with companies, all my companies are premium companies, Mutual of Omaha, Lincoln heritage Life Insurance Company, travelers, you know, just to name a few premium companies, I'm a licensed insurance broker, I do the shopping for you, I don't I do not charge a fee. To come see me on that ramp a little bit, I don't charge a fee to come see me 7022362624702236 to six to four we just did had a membership driver right here K und 91 4.5. I want to thank the listeners that donate it to a radio station that is a tax write off. And you know, you don't have to wait to the membership drive, you can donate to K u and v 91.5. Jazz and more anytime, you just contact the station and they'll they'll take your donation, it is a tax write off. And you can donate anytime it keeps programs like this on the air. And I want to thank again, thank the listeners, thank you so much for contacting me to help you with your insurance needs. I had a gentleman contact me about three weeks ago, he had for life insurance policies. And you need it. You know, he didn't want it. He wanted some guidance. What should I do with all these life insurance policies, we counseled a couple level he got about $1,000 is coming to him in the mail, by way of mail, and that's how you choose to receive it. And he's happy. He surrendered policy because he was about to expire anyway within a couple of years. And the rate was going to go up if he would have kept it, though. So he wants to have the rate increase every year on him. So what he did, he decided, you know, let's Let's surrender the life insurance policy. If you're in a position, you need money on your life insurance policy, and you're thinking about, you know, you know, letting it go. You want to surrender the life insurance policy, this is very important information. Don't call them and say, Hey, cancel my policy. So what they'll do, they'll probably let it do all the policy run out until the cash value runs out. Right? Because you call and cancel. And it depends on who answers the phone. It depends on what the company's guidelines is when it comes to cancelling a policy. When it comes to counseling a policy and receiving money from the policy, you're going to surrender the life insurance policy for the face amount. And what they'll do, they'll send that money to you minus any loans. If you do borrow money from a life insurance policy. I've said this over and over again, on many shows. If you don't pay it back, that money borrow can double every seven years. It's called the Rule of seven. You can owe a lot more money if you don't pay that money back that you borrowed from your life insurance. Now it is your money. If you don't pay it back, it'll probably double every seven years with the interest because as about a seven to 9% interest rate on money borrowed annually. Now that does add up. I've had I've seen some horror stories. When people borrowed only a couple $1,000.16 years later, they find themselves on about $16,000 on a $50,000 policy. My name is Donnell Marquez, this is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624. I want to be your insurance agent. I'm like an old fashioned insurance agent. I was trained through Allstate Insurance company back in the late 90s. I started this bit I started studying the 96. I was hired by Allstate Insurance Company in 1997. I stayed there got excellent training through Allstate Insurance Company. And but you know, after seven years, Allstate wanted us to be more stockbrokers and insurance agents and that that wasn't a good fit for me. They wanted me to get my securities license, which I didn't want to do that. I didn't want to sell variable annuities, because you know, those are tied directly to the stock market and nothing wrong with a variable annuity. But if the stock market does great, well, I'm your hero. If the stock market doesn't do too good, you know, I'm not the hero anymore. And who are you gonna blame? You're gonna blame me. Are you gonna blame the stock market more than likely you're gonna blame me if the stock market takes a down spin. So I really don't want to get involved with the you know the non guarantee products, I like guaranteed products to offer to my customers. After seven years with all stay with my own agency, I went to Allstate Insurance, triple A insurance company, excuse me, triple A insurance company and they hired me I stay there long enough to retire just to give you a little bit of background about me. Now, if you want to check me out, you're more than welcome. I have no complaints in the last 20 plus years. As an insurance professional you can contact under the banner division of an insurance. And you can you can get me checked out. Check me out before you call me if you'd like to know about a Division of Insurance. Do we have any complaints against Donald Marquez, zero complaints, and 23 almost 24 years. For more in the insurance business. I have a wealth of knowledge, I seek out information to help you better understand insurance. Everyone is looking for that affordable rate on an auto insurance. Let's Let's shop it. Let's see what we could do. You know, there's cars out there that people aren't, and that's costing $75,000. Today, your average full size brand new sedan is I mean upper anywhere from the upper 50s of their 70s of 1000s of dollars to some of these electric cars. My cousin bought one I got it was a $6,000 for electric car. And I'm thinking electric cars should cost a lot less than a combustion vehicle. Because it's all batteries. It's all batteries in it, but no moving parts other than the wheels turning and the steering wheel turning but everything else is all electrical. But when he went on that point, I saw how much it cost. I couldn't believe the electric car cost so much money. But you have to understand when it comes to auto insurance, the auto insurance companies has to insure these vehicles boards value you know or it could because if there is a total loss or a partial loss, you know they have to compensate the insured individual by weighing in the car repair or replacing the vehicle. For more information. My name is Donald Marquez. 702-236-2624 702236 To 64 I offer life insurance home auto boat motorcycle insurance you know a lot of people don't get on the water it's getting a little warm, you know a week unless that's shop rates for your boat insurance Let's shop rates for your motorcycle insurance. And yes your life insurance everyone needs life insurance.
