Good morning. My name is Dan Marquez. Welcome to another edition of your insurance connection right here at K u n v. Not a 1.5 Jazz and more happy Sunday morning. This broadcast is from 8am to 830. And I love talking to you about insurance. I'm an insurance broker right here in Las Vegas, Nevada, my hometown. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada attended UNLV. And you know, I've been in Las Vegas ever since joining the Air Force back in 70s. Ish. But after my tour of duty, I came back to Vegas, my lovely hometown and liquid tuber city it is today I you know, it's a little late. But it's never too late to say, you know, we salute our veterans every day. Thank you for everything that you do. I'm also a veteran. And it's very important, you know, to salute our vets. And I know Veterans Day was last week, but we're going to continue to slow that vets and, and carry the torch forward if that Thanksgiving is this Thursday. And I hope everyone have a safe Thanksgiving, it's a great time to talk to your family members about life insurance, there's so much goes on when you lose a loved one. Just to give you an idea of a checklist which you have to go through. When you hear your loved one has deceased, you have to count firstly, one of the first thing you do is contact your relatives, then your friends, you know, you may have to get in touch with a doctor or corner you have to definitely go talk to a funeral director. These are the steps you have to take when you lose a loved one. Funeral Director when you go there, that's that's gonna be a mind blowing experience because you got to realize what a funeral cost. You got to contact your your minister and your church, co workers to let them know you have to take some time off from work. There's a lot of moving parts when you lose a loved one. You have to, you know, arrange the services get your pallbearers in order, I've helped people during a difficult time when they lost a loved one, it was one situation and I'll share this with you where a loved one was lost. And the funeral home went to charge an additional fee. On top of already the charges they're already charging to borrow the money from a third party to pay for the funeral. And what that means is that the loved one took the life insurance policy into the funeral home. The Funeral Home said okay, we'll we'll use a third party to pay for the funeral. And the third party will wait on the death certificate which comes around 30 days later. And then, of course, will honor the policy at that time. My client reached out to me and said what are my options because we're talking about a $20,000 funeral. And they want to charge me additional $2,000 At the funeral home to use this third party service. And this is why it's important when you do lose a loved one to get in touch with your insurance agent. If in fact you do have a life insurance policy with your insurance agent. Or you can contact me no obligation consultation. And what I told my client because I did write them a life insurance policy. We'll call the insurance company the life insurance company out we funded up to 80% of the life insurance policy to the client with no additional fee. Let me say that again. We funded the policy up to 80%. We gave the client the beneficiary 80% of the face amount of the policy to avoid paying an additional $2,000. And there was no additional cost to fund the policy up to 80% of the face amount of the policy that money was in her account in two days. So she went back to the funeral home and said I don't need a third party because now I have enough money to pay for the funeral. And after the funeral was over as she received her death certificate. She filed another claim with the life insurance company to receive the balance of the benefits of the benefit with no additional fees. Now keep in mind when you do receive a life insurance benefit. That is a tax free benefit. There is no tax As on a life insurance policy, regardless, if it's a $10,000 policy or a $10 million policy, there's no taxes, you may want to get in touch with your union, your organization's maybe your credit unions or banks, to let them know the purpose that the person has to cease, you may want to take an article out in the newspaper or put it on Facebook like they do today. And the list the checklist continues. You have to go to the cemetery and pick out apply to space, you know, you have to do that. Pick out the casket, the vault the clothing, you know, I mean, the list just goes on an on the flowers, the music, the food, the time and place. Just imagine all this hitting you all at once unexpected. We know life insurance. My name is Don Marquez, I'm here to help you. The Void, avoid all these difficult, you know, decisions you have to make without a life insurance policy, you're going to be left with all these decisions has to be made. And they have to meet be made immediately because of the loss of a loved one, even taken off time off from work, how much that will cost you taking time off from work, to bury a loved one, maybe you might have to travel out of town. You know, maybe you and your spouse may have to travel out of town. So now you and your spouse will lose valuable time away from work. And probably money too, as well. Because there's a service. However, if your loved one took care of business, if your loved one plan to head and no one wants to talk about death, I get it. I'm an insurance professional. When people come to my office this year, hopefully you're very serious about taking care of your final expenses. And let's get it done. And they wouldn't have to talk about it anymore. It's a one time conversation. No one likes to talk about. Okay, let's talk about a once let's get it together. Let's stop keep kicking the can and procrastinating and let's get it done. It's a one time conversation. My contact phone number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. I'm having just signed up a company called Great Western life insurance company. If you have a family member with AIDS or HIV 40 to 80 years young, I can get a life insurance policy for them up to $25,000. Yes. And let me say that again. I'm so happy because I just signed up with great western life insurance company. And I had this gentleman he called me. He heard the show. He contacted me and said you know what? my loved one she has AIDS. I need a life insurance policy for her. She's had AIDS for the last 10 years. She was in a yeah, she's in her young 40s. And I said you know what, I'll see what I can do. I looked and looked and look, it took me a while. Took a couple of months went by and I found a company that would write her business. We were able to get her $25,000 In life insurance. I am so happy I was able to help my client. I did not have this company before Great Western life insurance company. But now I do have them along with other life insurance companies a total of 67 life insurance companies I represent and I can help I help them. I can help you. Is this really simple, real easy. My contact phone number is 702-236-2624 I do a lot of business over the phone if you don't want to come into my office, which is located right on the corner in the heart of a beautiful city Las Vegas, on the corner of Sahara Rancho. In the US bank center, eighth floor Sahara Rancho. Where's that it all rose leads us Erin rancher on one block west i 15. Across the street from the palace station Hotel Casino. Chick fil A is also right across the street on the rancho side. You can't miss a tall brown beautiful building. They had we had waterfalls at front up front of the building but they took out the waterfall of the conservative water now we have trees. So when you enter the building the city trees I work by appointment and still beautiful, beautiful building. I'm on the eighth floor 702-236-2624 Donald Marquez or you can call me down Marquez. I want to be your insurance agent to help you through the process. You know, it's gonna be very difficult for all of us when we lose that significant person in our lives. I've been through it a lot. As you know, the older we get the more frequency we see losing our loved ones and not being prepared not being prepared for these enormous costs. Did you know you don't have time to grieve. The cost of a funeral today is between 15 and $20,000. That's a lot of money. Regardless of your assets. I've had people to where you know I own a house I got there Isn't I got that, but you don't, let's think, okay, you own a house, right? Or you have a lot of equity in the house. And well, you know, my family, they have my house. And they, you know, they did what they can do whatever they want with the house, I don't care why you should care. Don't ever say you don't care. I've heard people say that over and over again, you should care. When you when you say when you don't care, that means you are passing the responsibility on to someone else. You should care. You know, regardless of your assets, they have to sell you assets. Okay, they have to list your property they have to get, you know, get in touch with a realtor, list your property and take that procedure step by step. Now, you're not gonna sell your house in a week or two. Sometimes, it may take a couple of months, a few months to sell your home. So but what was happening, you still own ice, you don't care. Now you still own ice or, or at the funeral home, in refrigeration, waiting for them. Either take a loan out on your home, or sell your home.

Speaker 3 10:54
Think about it. Think about it. It's a lot. It's a lot of moving parts. Do not let your family you know go through all these difficult hurdles to take care of your final expenses. A life insurance policy is looking at it as a savings account, a living benefit where you can borrow money against the policy, you know, for future responsibilities. I've asked I've seen people borrow money against their life insurance policy. But if you don't pay it back, and I've said this many times on my show before, they will minus it from the death benefit. plus interest. Use it as about a 7% interest rate against money borrowed annually. 7% interest rate money borrowed if you have borrowed money from your life insurance policy, make arrangements to pay it back if you can, or just contact your life insurance company is going to be a separate payment or maybe they combine the payments. So you can start chipping away at the money borrow. But if you don't pay it back, it will be minus face amount of so for example, if you have a $20,000 life insurance policy final expense, and you borrow 5000. And it's been a few years, they'll when you pass away that $20,000 Immediately take out the five which leaves 15 plus interest. And now your loved one is stuck with a final expense burial policy for maybe only you know, $13,000, maybe a little bit more than that. Because interest does add up over the years at 7%. It does add up. Keep that in mind for more information. My name is Don Marquez, this is your insurance can I can broadcast and ready a K u and v 91.5. Jazz and more Sunday morning from 8am to 830. I just want to thank all editions that came in and purchase home auto life insurance, I noticed the holidays, a great gift, it was a gift of love. You don't you don't know what to purchase your loved one for Christmas, give them a life insurance policy, I made you the beneficiary on my life insurance policy, you know, you're going to be the beneficiary. And I like think about it for a second, ooh, that's a pretty good gift. That's the gift of love. That's a gift of love. Or you can go out and buy something else course. But if you really want to give a nice gift, gift of love, tell your loved one, I purchase life insurance policy, I may use a beneficiary, that's a gift that keeps on giving. And now next year, you can remind them when Christmas come around that I made you the beneficiary of my life insurance policy, it's the gift that keeps on giving. So that's a one time gift. You can say you know what, one day you gotta you gotta be the recipient of this life insurance policy. Listen, nobody wants, you know, but nobody knows when we're gonna go. We don't know, if I knew, you know, it makes things a lot easier for me. But I'm here to help you through the process, having his one time conversation, getting your house in order, making sure your loved ones are protected, so they won't be financially ruined when you pass away. Or you know, or if you need to borrow money in the future. There's your life insurance policy right there. If you have transmission goes out on your car, or your electrical components have a problem and you need $3,000 Oh, I don't have a warranty on my car anymore. My car's out of warranty, hey, but I have enough money, my life insurance policy, why not use that or you can use a life insurance policy to pay your taxes. I owe money to the Internal Revenue Service, use that money, that money is yours to do whatever you want with it, but just understand that that is money borrowed. And or if you've had a life insurance policy for over many, many years, maybe you just want to cash it out, surrender the policy, don't cancel the policy, surrender the policy and take the money because you've saved up enough money in your account because I've had people come to me, you know, for whatever life insurance policy cause I can save that but you haven't done it to this point. But if you have been really good with saving money, you took out a life insurance policy years ago, and now you built up a substantial cash value in the policy and you don't really need the policy. See the more either you can reduce the face amount to something lower, or you can completely cash it out and take the money and do whatever you want with it. Now just a little hint, if you don't know what to do with the money I do have plans to spin it on I seen some pictures of what I spent it all about that my name is Dawn Marquez, of course, you know, I like to have a little fun with this. Eye contact phone number 702-236-2624. Taking out a life insurance policy. You know, you take out a policy, you keep it, that's just the rule, you keep it. Now, if you can't afford it, reduce the face amount, don't just call the company up after nine months of paying on the life insurance policy and say, You know what, I can't afford this first thing that comes up. You know, if the finances change, do not cancel your life insurance, find other things to cancel out, you know, cancel out, go on to the casinos putting money in the slots, cancel that out or reduce it or have money you know, making these all these Football Bets every week, you know, reduce it, you know, you don't have to spend all your money, Gamblin. I know, we live in Vegas. And of course, you want to entertain yourself because you're probably a little bored at times, you're retired or getting ready to retire. And you spend money at a casino bingo slots, you know, video poker or even, or even the table games. You know, there's ways to reduce the things you enjoy doing, you can still enjoy what you're doing. But don't cancel your life insurance policy. That's, that's known benefit knowing that you paid on your policy last night, the last nine months. Now you want to cancel your policy, the money you paid into that policy for the last nine months is not going to accumulate a cash value for you. You just gave that money away. You just gave it away. What is the point of taking on a life insurance policy with the intent? Well, I'm a counselors policy and nine months or someone to talk to you out of it. If someone tried to talk you out of purchasing a life insurance policy and tell you you don't need it. Well, okay, well okay, if you think I don't need it, I just want to let you know, funerals today run about 15 to $20,000. And you telling me I don't need this policy. And when that day comes, are you going to pay that money to 15 to 20,000 and you don't want to be cremated. Even cremation today with a ceremony is running eight to nine to 10 $12,000 with a ceremony and think about it. Of course with the feeling there's a feeling there's a ceremony the bride the body has to be prepped the remains have to be prepped, put in a container a casket, people come in so the final wishes have a service. And then after the viewing is over with then they do the cremation. Once you receive your urn from from the crematory or the or the funeral home, then, you know you have to put the urn in the crypt and you have to go to the funeral, the cemetery and I need to buy a crib to put the urn in wood ahead with a plaque with the flowers and that says more money. So don't think because you want to be cremated you know as if he were to go out okay, I don't want to spend all the money put all the money in the ground. But it still costs involved with it. So it's I don't think you can get away cheap. It's not there's no cheap way around it. And not only the funeral service itself, but what about the the the money that needs to be paid for the rent for a couple of months to move the furniture out of out of the home? taking time off from work? The repast let's talk about the repairs right after the funeral service, food. I mean, this just goes on and on and on. Because people ah you know, I don't want to service or get my body to science. Okay, let me say this about giving you about as a science because I've heard that conversation too. They have enough people. Do you know how to get your body to science, they already get to know people with the homeless population out here. And they're everywhere. They have plenty of specimens. They don't need your body. And who wants to leave your body to, to science, not you want to pass away with some type of dignity, you know, are people so okay, what happens me? I don't care. You know, but I've heard you know, I mean, every now and then I hear that. But I say Don't you want to be honored? You lived a long life. You lived a good life, you raised your family. But you know, your family wants to put you away with honor and dignity not just to you know, tell you about it to in the woods on the desert and say, you know the heck with him, what had winter and then I got to do that. But they are going to be financially responsible. They are going to be financially responsible. Make sure they are comfortable. The holidays are coming up. The first holiday right after Halloween, of course is Thanksgiving, family members get together and that's a perfect opportunity to discuss who has life insurance and who doesn't. Hey, you know what, we're gonna have a family meeting before we eat.

Speaker 3 19:55
Because if you have tried to have the meeting after you eat Oh, you know I gotta go home like Gotta get up in the morning early to get that? No, because they've got the bellies full watch football, drinking drinks. And, you know, let's have a meeting family meeting. So we need to discuss this weird Don Marquez talking about, you know, having a family meeting on K UNLV, 91.5 jazz or more about who has life insurance? Where is the life insurance policy, and who are the beneficiaries. Now, this is important, because you need to know expecially where that policy is, you know, I mean, that's not keep it a secret, let's have the one to a two time conversation about letting your family members know, okay, my life insurance policies in the closet, right next to the blue suede shoes, or next to the cowboy boots, or, you know, or next to the construction boots, or wherever they the policy is, let them know, and have a list of things or items, Christine Banagher, which is another team member of your insurance connection, she helps me out in many different ways. And she tells me that the what she does when she does a power of attorney or Will or Trust, she has a list of to do items. And going down the checklist. Okay, these are, this is my mortgage company with the mortgage number. And this is the mortgage phone number. These are the banks that I bank with. And these are the bank accounts. These are the credit unions I bank with. And these are the account numbers, a list of items line by line, my employer's information, I have life insurance with my employer three times my salary, I have no life insurance with my employer. A list of items, these are my credit card company, this is where I pay my car payment to. I mean, this is very helpful at that time. And it comes for all of us again, no one likes to talk about this. I get it. But let's get let's get your house in order. And that doesn't take a whole lot of procedure does get it in order when that day comes in most people when I when I talk to them, we everything is in line. They tell me I should have did this a while back. I should have did this a while back. And you know, I'm so relieved now that mean I can take care of other things. This is out the way because we're all getting a little older every day. You know? Yeah, back 20 years ago, you know, last thing was on your mind talking about life insurance? Or maybe not. But you should talk about it with your family members, Thanksgivings. Coming up, have a family meeting, sit down and talk to them about life insurance. Hey, Uncle Joe. Yeah, life insurance? Well, why you asked me that I just first I'm gonna probably say, well, we just need to know that Uncle Joe. I mean, you know, your wife died a while back. It's just you. We just need to know you know, when that day comes for you don't say if some MC Uncle Joe, say when that day comes for your Uncle Joe. We just wanted to be able to take care of everything. We don't worry about it. Don't worry about I got it all taken care of of that. And they may be a little pushback. But what do you have taken care of keep pushing forward? Because we need to know. We need to know where the policy is. Who's the beneficiary? Listen, man, we want you around for a long time. But we just want to make sure you know, everything's taken care of. Because I've had people tell me, I'm not going in debt behind you. Well, you don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. Well, once you got together, you we need to know. And if they don't want to tell you nothing now you know, they can't eat. So listen, the only way you're gonna get this good Thanksgiving meal that you're leaving you no need, you need to reveal what you haven't ordered. But that probably won't happen. But the whole point is to bring up the conversation to keep the conversation on the table to keep the half people thinking about and it won't ruin your Thanksgiving. It may enlighten it. Oh, okay. Okay. Well, that's good. I'm glad to hear that. Because if you don't have life insurance, let's let's keep it positive. Yeah, let's contact Donald Marquez. I heard him at KU envy 91.5 Jazz anymore, talking about this very issue about the ones that do not have life insurance and keeps putting it off and they're getting older every day. In their 60s in their 70s and their 80s of the you know, I can write a policy up to 85 years old. Up to 85 years on 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 located on the corner, Sahara Rancho. US bank center, eighth floor. I'm a licensed insurance broker representing auto insurance, homeowners insurance, life insurance boat, motorcycle insurance. 702-236-2624 I listen. When you come to me. We sit down in my office and I listen. Understand your needs. I'm gonna ask you questions about your health. I have do I do have life insurance policies. There is no physical to take just a few easy lessons and their yes or no answers, we can get your life insurance policies taken care of in about less than 30 minutes. Or sometimes even quicker than that, depending on how much you want to talk. Because people get the talking and I'm a talker, and we started talking and lose track of time I will pass by. And we've talked about Vegas. So we've talked about what Vegas used to be the place you used to go in Vegas, and all of a sudden the whole hours passed away. Now we have to get down to business because at least give you an hour and a half to two hours of my time. Without charging you a fee. For A Consultation, I do not charge for a consultation fee. I mean, if you come from me listening to this program and said, How much do I owe you. And before we get started, there is no consultation fee 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 My name is Don Marquez, I'm here to help you. Now if you have a term policy that is again, ready to timeout, we need to have a conversation. We really do. Because that policy that term policy is getting ready to term out or if you plan on keeping it because I know it says A's and 95. But that's not always the case. If you took out a limited policy, which is a term policy it the time is limited. It is a time sensitive life insurance policy. And it's not a bad policy to me, because people asked me about a term. You know, it's a lot of s a lot of life insurance for low costs. It does what it's supposed to do. It protects you for that mortgage, it protects you when you have young children. It's a lot of life insurance for low cost if you're in your 20s and 30s. You know, I can make you a millionaire for a little nothing. Probably right at about $2 a day. I can make you a millionaire with a million dollar life insurance policy, just take care of those loved ones, you know, right about $2 $2 a day that's less than a gallon that's less than a tank of gas, because you know what we pay for a gallon of gas. But if you fill up you know it's gonna cause more than $2 to fill up I remember back in the day, you know people who used to buy gas and I used to hear stories Yeah, you're getting $2 and they will take me all over the place now that wasn't gas was like 25 cents a gallon. But there's way more than that today. I remember I remember my dad said gasoline get $1 A gallon I'm gonna stop driving. Well, he went to $1 a gallon and he continued to drive as we all do, because we need to get to point A to point B. My point is is it is affordable. I have a policy with great western life insurance company. If you have AIDS, HIV, lupus history of cancer, I can write you a life insurance policy up to $25,000 702 to three 620-624-7022 362624 My name is Don Marquez get out take a walk. You know the wet is perfect fit is take out, take out a walk, you know walk around the corner say hello to your neighbors. You know hopefully hopefully your football beds come in today.
