What is going on with this long Summers is drawn out 90s I'm ready to get down in the 70s you know, that Vegas I'm used to I was born and raised in Vegas. And um, this time of the year, we should be cruising an 80s 85 ish. But we're here where we are. Hopefully the Raiders will win a game today.
Unknown Speaker 1:19
Maybe they need some help on meme basis. They want a championship, right? A national championship. Maybe they need some help. I don't know. There's some big girls on that team. So anyway, I'm still proud. I'm very proud of Asus, first national championship championship, excuse me, first national championship, but we need our Raiders to come through. You know, they can do it. I believe in them, they can do it. So they'll win. They'll win. I know they will. My name is Don Marquez, this is your insurance connection on your insurance connection. We talk about insurance, I try to cover as much as I can within a half hour about insurance. I'm an insurance broker. I've been in the business since 1996. I love what I do. I want to thank the customers that came in called in and also came in and purchase home auto life insurance. You know, I people come in and they said, Man, we hear you on Sunday morning, right before getting ready to go to church. And you know, I'll go getting up in the morning having your favorite cup of coffee and sitting in the backyard and enjoying a beautiful morning weather. And they tune in and listen to the king when the 91.5 Jazz more not only for the music, but for the amazing talk shows we have right here K u and v 91.5. Jazz and more is educational program. So listen up, we're going to talk about always my favorite subject is life insurance. We're going to talk a little bit about auto insurance at the end of the programming and homeowners insurance. Well, however life insurance, life insurance, life insurance, I attended a funeral Friday, one of my high school classmates he passed away and have to go to another funeral in California on the 14th of October. Going into a lot of these services, you know people are dying. And you know, and hopefully, when people die, they have the right insurance policy in place to take to the funeral home. You'll be surprised you know, you can call any funeral home and and just ask the funeral directors, how many people walk in with the wrong life insurance policy to bury their loved ones. You may come in there with an accidental only life insurance policy. However, your loved one passed away of natural causes. And you quickly find out that that you have the wrong life insurance policy. But then it's too late. It is absolutely too late. Now you have to find another means to pay for this very expensive funeral. Not only the funeral, but now you have to close out the final expenses. And then finally expenses could be medical bills, credit cards. If there's a spouse left behind, you know you quickly find out oh my god, my husband he left me with accidental only life insurance. I thought he had it together. You know spouses need to talk to each other about life insurance. Yeah, I know sometimes in marriages or in relationships. There's one person that takes care all the financial responsibilities. Now if you that person that takes care all of your financial responsibilities, you need to talk to your spouse about life insurance if you don't have life insurance because now you're retired. And you know people that listen to this program, usually they're retired or you know they're about to retire. Usually I get a listening audience of 55 and older. So if you're 55 and older listening to the show, this is this is for you. A final expense life insurance policy to take care of that final expense. That very expensive funeral today at average is about 15,000 and up. It is costly. Not only that, you have to go through them. ental part of burying a loved one. I've buried loved ones in this not easing. However, when I buried my loved ones, of course, I did have my life insurance policies for them in place, it was very important to me before they pass away is still important to me today to talk to you about life insurance, you know, growing up, out witness, you know, a relative of mine dying. And there was an accidental only life insurance policy for $400,000. You know, I was paying on this policy for many years, I was paying $16 a month. And I, you know, and then when my spouse died, I go into funeral home, thinking everything's gonna be okay. With a $40,000 life insurance, accidental only life insurance policy. And the loved one passed away of natural causes, you know, are heartbroken. You know, my relative was, I mean, just totally disappointed. This is way before I got into the insurance business. But you know, you can see the heartbreak and heartache and just total disappointment, of lack of understanding of what you purchased. I know sometimes, you know, when you get these to get their information in the mail, you know, these offers look very attractive they do. You can receive something in the mail, you know, I come from well known resources. I'm used to that company's name. Okay. I've seen no advertising on television, I've seen the whale splash into the ocean, or, you know, I've seen this before. I'm familiar with the name. So I'm gonna sign up, send it in. I have life insurance. I don't need a physical. You know, everybody's accepting. Although you have underlying health conditions, are you starting to get up in age, but you see a lot of insurance offered for a very low cost. You don't like if you get this, you don't pay for something that low costs and expect a whole lot out of it. It's funny, just the other day, I was talking to a gentleman. And he had mentioned to me, or he wanted to come in and talk to me about life insurance for his mother. And I said, Okay, he said, Can you compare rates with the 995 plan? And we all heard about the 995 plan, right? And I said, how much insurance you think, is available on that 995 plan? He's, uh, well, you know, I think I'm not investigating, but he just assumed by looking at these commercials on television, that the 995 plan was worth at least, I gotta laugh $15,000 In life insurance coverage. And it's a pretty good hook. I have to say, you know, it generates a phone call. It generates the interest, but 995 in his mother in his miss at her mid 70s. And he thinks for $9.95, he can get at least $15,000 worth of life insurance. That is so misleading. But that's what he thought, without calling a company without find trying to find out what the 995 plan is all about. There's no gimmicks, I don't do the gimmicks. You know, it's just straightforward. The rates are based on your age and your health,
Unknown Speaker 8:17
your age and your health, the meds you're taking. Now I do have a life insurance policy is a whole life policy up to $30,000 in life insurance coverage. Included in the whole life insurance policy is a cash value asset, where you have any if you need to borrow money against the policy you can and also within this life insurance policy up to $30,000 in whole life, because you've been turned down or you know, you just need something a final expense policy, and you may kicking the can for too long. Now it's time to act. Now within his policy. You get your casket, your container and your headstone. You get that included in the policy. It's a life insurance policy. With those three items included again, it's an 18 to 18 gauge casket is not a 20 gauge, non 20 gauge is a low quality casket. And if you have a beret up into a beret, a loved one with a 20 gauge casket. Everybody can see at the funeral, and that's a cheap casket. Wow, he didn't care too much about her. Look at that casket. That's a 20 gauge. You know, I mean, it's they're out there and they're very and it's still expensive. Don't get me wrong. But what 18 gauge casket you, you get the choices. Now, the lower the gauge, the better the quality, it's called a more like a military grade type casket. Okay, so the 18th grade grade casket you have a lot of variety to choose from. You can select your casket while you're still living. All right, and also your headstone. Why are you still living and you want to tell your beneficiary exactly what you're doing with it within this life insurance. policy and it's all there for you the headstone the container and the casket. You didn't select everything. Now if you want to be cremated, we have arranged to to select from within this life insurance policy. My name is Donnell Marquez, this is your insurance connection, my contact number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 located on the corner of Rancho and Sahara, in the US Bank Center, located on the eighth floor, my business hours are Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm 702-236-2624. You know, I've had people telling me well, you know, for the price of a life insurance policy, I can say that, Oh, you really really, but you haven't done it yet. And if you even if you try to attempt to save the money, things do come up. Now some of you can pretty good at finances, but what the inflation and everything else is going on? Do you really want to leave your family and a debt situation where they're gonna receive that instead of inheriting, you know, money from your passing, we all gonna pass now, you know, don't say, Well, if something happens to me, you know, something happens to me or don't say I don't care. Because when you say you don't care to your family, you're saying, Well, I'm gonna let them pay for that. I'm not gonna worry about it. But if you don't want to be cremated, and even cremations today cost a lot of money with a ceremony. You know, people want to be shipped to another state, they want to be buried with their families, and, and other states. And who's going to pay for all of that, who's going to pay for all of them? Think about it. If you go to a funeral home, you lost a loved one you're grieving. You go to a funeral home and you you know, you don't have any funds to pay for any of this, but you do have to go to the funeral home. Because when that person passes away, and hospital or hospice or wherever they pass away, they're going to pick up the remains and take it directly to a funeral home. Sometimes you can select a funeral home, they'll take it to a funeral home, though the remains to a funeral home, and you have to go on to the funeral home and who really wants to go into a funeral home. unless you absolutely have to go someplace, you don't go just as Hey, I just want to stop by and check out things you know, see what's new. You just don't do that in a funeral home. You go there when you have to. And the first thing that hits you is that smile. Oh my goodness. Oh, you know what I'm talking about. But you got to deal with the reality of it. Universe. Some people don't have time to grieve. But when you sit down with the funeral director,
Unknown Speaker 12:45
and then all of a sudden they go over the cost of everything. You just numb at that point, without any means of financial responsibility to pay for a funeral. Let's reverse that. Let's start thinking proactive instead of reactive, we can get you an affordable life insurance policy that will fit in your budget. My name is Don Marquez, my number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. I asked you the question, is it important to you? Is it important to your family? Absolutely it is. And don't think because it costs a certain dollar amount that you can't afford it. You can't afford not to have it. You can make adjustments in your budget, we all find ways to make adjustments in our budget. When I go to the grocery store. I'm adjusting all the time.
Unknown Speaker 13:39
Really because now sometimes you know what, you know maybe set up his pickup up 12 pack of soda and then I say you know what, I don't need any soda and all this sugar. Even if you get a diet soda, you know, I don't need the I'll let acid inside my body so I don't buy the three for 12 or whatever it is sodas they're offering. I don't get to sodas anymore. So I stopped drinking sodas every now and then I gotta have a coke especially if I eat Mexican food I got to have a Coca Cola I mean it's just wouldn't Mexican food he just excellent with a cold Coca Cola. You know, that's that's sometimes my weakness, but that's rare. That's really rare, but we all make adjustments. I don't drive as much as I used to. And when I do drive, I make sure that okay, I'm gonna drive on today's Wednesday, I'm gonna make three or four stops, I need to go to my doctor's office, I need to go to grocery store. I need to pick up get some gas, you know, things like that. So you hit your stops, get your hair cut, I mean 1234 And then you go home. Then you go home, and you save that gas because you know gasoline, very expensive. If you're a smoker, you know you smoking and buying gas at the same time you notice a lot of money. You fill up and then you buy a carton of cigarettes. Oh my god. That's expensive. But if you are a smoker, don't be despaired because you can reduce your smoking and get your life look good. Just have a life insurance policy, cut your smoking in half, and get yourself a life insurance policy. I can help you. There's no health examination to apply just a few health questions. An application that I help you fill out? Well, I just asked you the health questions, you just say yes or no, I need to know what medicines you're currently taking. There is no physical, the whole life benefits up to $30,000 in coverage, and benefits and paid within 24 hours with a death certificate. In other words, when you take that life insurance policy into the funeral home, they're going to take their proceeds out first, they're going to file a claim against your policy. Well, let me back up just a bit. Because the first thing the funeral director is going to do is call the life insurance company that makes sure you the policy hasn't lapsed, and the policy is current, they'll file a claim against the policy that say for an example, you know, your policy is $30,000 in face amount, and your total services is about, let's say $15,000. That's half of the policy face amount. So the funeral home will attach themselves to your policy, get their money upfront. And then once you receive your death certificate, then you file a claim with the insurance company as a beneficiary, the primary beneficiary or their primary beneficiaries, file a claim for the balance of the life insurance policy. As an example, $15,000 will be the remainder. And then if you have a 5052 beneficiaries, and they split the money 5050. Now the check will come by way of both primary beneficiaries and each of their names. Or if you have multiple beneficiaries, primary beneficiaries, it comes in their name now, if your primary beneficiary has passed away, and this happens, this happens quite often, especially with our seniors. Now you lose a husband, you lose a wife, they were the primary beneficiaries on your life insurance policy. And I know you're going through a lot you're lonely and you forget things. And you know, one of the most important things you cannot forget is you need to change your primary beneficiary if you don't have a contingent beneficiary. Now that contingent beneficiary will move up in the primary beneficiaries position at that time, because if the primary passes away before the insured individual passes away, then you need a new primary beneficiary. My name is Donald Marquez, my contact number is 702-236-2624 702-236-2624. We offer Whole Life policies of $30,000 in coverage with the casket and the container and the headstone with the upright headstone included in the policies value included in policies value. Now, auto insurance is one of them, when I get calls for auto insurance, and one of the main complaint is oh, I paid too much for car insurance. Well, I still do i Welcome to Southern Nevada, and if you just moved to Vegas, you know, you get hit with these car insurance rates. And I don't know why people think when they moved from a different state. And, you know, they come to Vegas, and they think, well, the car insurance should be lower here. I don't know why people think that they come from somewhere in the Midwest, you know, somewhere in the middle of Kentucky. And they think coming to Vegas, car insurance is going to be low. I don't get to that. No, you should have stayed in in the middle of Kentucky. Because the car insurance rates are probably a lot less in the middle of Kentucky than it is phase, we pay some of the highest car insurance rates in the country, regardless of what company you with. But as an insurance broker, I can shop for you for auto insurance. And so when we can see what we could do now we'll bundle the home and auto together to give you discounts. Now the home discounts the auto and auto discounts the home 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 as an insurance broker, I represent multiple car insurance companies, life insurance companies, boats and motorcycle insurance companies. I love being a broker. I should have been a broker years ago, when I first started in the insurance business I you know, I was captive with Allstate Insurance and once it was a great career, but I can only sell their products and services. But now as a broker, as a broker since 2015. I've been a broker going on going on eight years now. And I mean, I have more leverage when it comes to shopping for my clients, and I've been in the business for over 25 years. I've seen a lot. I've heard a lot and I've done a lot and I've helped a lot of you out there. Better Understand Insurance is very important. You know, insurances around us all the time, purchases a car you need an insurer purchase a home, you need insurance. When you get older in life, you know you're gonna need it. Oh, you young in life, we all need health insurance regardless of age, right? Regardless of age, we all need health insurance. So insurance is is that invisible element that's around us. Open a business, you need insurance, right? I mean, everything we do we do in life, we need this protection. So don't ever think you don't need it. Yes, you do. Now, if you're going to insure a car, which is a machine, you can have a life insurance on yourself. Now that the state says he is mandatory to have auto insurance, I remember going back a little bit. Now, I can remember a time when having auto insurance was an option.
Unknown Speaker 20:49
But those days are long ago, if your car is paid off, you still need to keep certain coverages on your car, depending on the value in the year your car. And, you know, I've heard people say, Well, you know, I have an older vehicle, and why my insurance rates is so high, you know, coming from other companies coming to me, I said, Well, you know, you're older vehicle can cause a lot of damage to the to the new cars today. Now, if you have a f 150 pickup truck that was built in 1970, or 80, or 90, or even, you know, in early 2000s, you pretty much driving a tank. Right? Now you plow into one of these little lightweight cars, you know, you're gonna hurt everybody in the car. Now, you probably be okay, a couple scratches in there, but you're gonna cause a lot of damage. One of the main reasons car insurance rates are so high in the state of Nevada is because of the bodily injury. And also people run to the lawyers. I was in a car accident, I want to get rich in a rant, get a check, you know you had all the time. But you know what the insurance companies a lot smarter than that. They got to make sure that you know your injuries are what they what you say they are any if you have pain, you have pain. But if you are in a car accident, if you are in a car accident, it is not your fault. Do not file a claim against your insurance. Now, if you have all the information from the person that hit you, you file a claim against their policy. That's what you do to get out of the car, after they accept the scene in an accident. And if you can't get out of the car, take pictures, take pictures of their driver's license, take pictures of the ID card. And you know, they ask you for your information. So well you know, I can give you my name and number but I can give you my name. Or that's up to you to give them your number. But you had mean, I had a lady hit me once. And I got out the car took all the pictures and everything. And you know what she wanted? She gave me all her information. Her insurance company, I took pictures of her ID card and driver's license. And she said, Well, I'm gonna need all your information to it. I'm at the stoplight. See it mean? I'm waiting for the light turned green? She admitted Well, I said you hit me well, what do you need my information for? I give you my name. And my phone number. You hit me. And by the way, I'm an I'm an insurance agent. So she's an I forget it at Abbotts but all unite insurance agents, you know, but I'm just telling you this how it is Vegas is not a no fault state. When you file a claim against your own auto insurance policy, that policy could, you know, put, they could, you know, put on that policy. You're at fault. Once the policy is settled. You're letting the person off the hook. Because sometimes, you know, the insurance company will go after the party that hit you. Sometimes they do sometimes they don't they just pay the claim. They got that much money they really do. They got that much money.
Unknown Speaker 23:52
You know so anyway, you don't want to file a claim against your own policy. If you were not at fault, file a claim, file a claim against their policy, not yours. My name is Don Marquez, this is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624 got a little distracted there. And now I'm back on track. Home annatto homeowners, if you file a claim and all of a sudden now your policy renews and I've seen this happen in the regular up a little bit. You wonder why because you file a claim. You've been paid out $12,000 And you file a claim on your homeowners insurance policy. And you wonder why your rate went up. There is no homeowner forgiveness. Now sometimes they advertise on television Accident Forgiveness on auto insurance, but you pay extra for that too as well. You do pay extra for a Car Accident Forgiveness was not free, but they only got to forgive you if there was no bodily injury. Now if there is no bodily injury, you know then you may be forgiven up to a certain dollar amount. That's okay if they if it's only property damage is only? Well, you've given up to a certain dollar amount. You have to read your policy information and find out what that dollar amount is. It isn't endorsement on your auto insurance policy, Accident Forgiveness, or sometimes some auto insurance policies will come with up to $1,000, Accident Forgiveness, and they want to gesture rates. But they could say to you, we're going to, you're going to lose a discount because No, you are no longer accident free. You have to understand the process. But what the homeowners what I see in the valley, some of you are greatly underinsured on your homeowners insurance policies. Yes, you are. Now we don't go over the value of your home, we go after what it costs to rebuild your house. Construction costs, the cost of labor costs of building materials. That's what we go by. Just think about it, your three bedroom, two and a half bath home that you have with your two car garage. And you you pay less than 300,004 years ago. But today is worth let's say $500,000. Okay, and it only costs us let's say 300,000 or three to $50,000 to rebuild. All right. But if that same house was on a shoreline of Laguna Beach, that house would be worth two or $3 million. Okay. You have three bedroom, two and a half bath two car garage house. If it was on beachfront property in Laguna Beach, California, it'd be worth millions. And this is why we don't go by the value of the home. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 my location is on the corner of Sahara Rancho and the US bank center. On the eighth floor I work by appointment 702-236-2624 My business hours are Monday through Friday from 10am to 530.
